Cotes in Bath and North East Somerset

A fantastic meal. Couldn’t fault anything. Good service too. Lovely atmospheric restaurant. Highly recommended and good value too

After booking a table near the windows for 3 people, I rang the day before and amended the number to 4. When we arrived, we had been squashed on to a tiny table around a pillar, although there were larger empty unreserved tables near the windows. We moved ourselves to one of these. My friend and I each ordered a green side salad with our main course. When the salads arrived, we discovered that they had no vinaigrette or dressing, and complained. They were eventually replaced. I got the distinct feeling that there was no overall senior eye keeping a sharp eye on the detail. The atmosphere at lunch was convivial, the food OK and the wine better than expected, but the table fiasco and salad irritations detracted from what should have been a jolly New Year experience.

We had a fantastic meal, served by Seb! The busiest time of year but Seb went above and beyond to make our experience a fantastic one. Well done young man!

Excellent meal & service. They were very busy with larger groups but managed to fit us in and allowed us to wait while a better table became free. Both had the set menu which was really good , one steak fries and one chicken with a lovely mushroom sauce

Always a safe choice for a good lunch. Newly refurbished. Comfortable, ambience. Excellent attentive but unobtrusive service. Recommend Pris Fixe menu .

Absolutely perfect. My husband had the chicken, I had the filet. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Drinks were perfect as well.

Hadn't booked, never a problem in other Cote restaurants. Despite other tables available, the maitre de had us sat in a corner in the loudest part of the restaurant. The food was over smoked, overcooked, and completely not what we expected from Cote. We will stick with Bristol and London from now on.

Our first visit to Cote and happy to find stylish decor, welcoming staff and the great french tradition of a menu 'prix fixe', which proved to be relatively reasonable value when compared with several other restaurants in the neighbourhood. As a party of four, we all enjoyed our choices for starters, main courses and desserts. The cuisine testified to the fresh ingredients used and service was very good throughout the meal. Overall, we would be pleased to return to this branch or any other given the standard achieved on this occasion.

Located in the little complex off Milsom Street. I walked in and was greeted immediately by an invisible lady behind a giant pot plant. She manifested herself and showed us to a table. Set lunch menu, £15. I chose the charcuterie and minute steak. Sadly, my son ate most of my various hams. But what I managed to rescue was good. Nice glass of house Merlot, Pays d'Oc I think. Nice steak too. I was tempted by the option of upgrading to ribeye for an extra fiver,but stuck with the basic minute steak. Chips and a few leaves of rocket, more as decoration than as a salad Would certainly visit again

I usually love Cote Bath and visit several times a year - usually with friends, as it's conveniently located. I suggested to my friend that we met last night for an early supper and pre-booked a table. When we arrived, we were basically completely ignored. It was fairly busy, but not crazy. 2 waiting staff were standing nearby discussing their shifts. It was as though we were completely invisible and was a very poor welcome. The food was great, as always. I chose whitebait, steak and the chocolate mousse from the Prix Fixé menu, which is excellent value. The service during the meal was fine. What did annoy me is that I had ordered a glass of Sauvignon, and looking at the bill after we had paid I saw I had been charged over £10. When I looked at the menu, I saw that there are 2 Sauvignons on offer, and they had not asked which one I wanted and charged me for the more expensive one, which I think is rather underhand. So, all in all, a good meal foodwise, but I feel staff should be more attentive to arrivals and also more careful with drinks orders.

Customer service was great, very attentive. Our waiter was training a new member of staff too so he was rushed off his feet but seemed completely in control & it was very admirable. Food was delicious, completely recommended!

Visited here with my partner for a bite to eat and drink. It was fantastic, absolutely wonderful. We were seated promptly, offered water immediately and had impeccable service throughout. It was a pleasant experience. Certainly will be visiting again soon!

A relaxing and pleasant place for lunch. The beef bourguignon was a good portion with interesting flavor. The chicken special was somewhat tough and bland tasting. The chocolate mousse that came with the special was outstanding. Service was pleasant but spotty. Overall, it was a good choice in Bath.

Cote vary tremendously from place to place (and definitely within London). I'd say Bath is better than many, but let's face it - you get what you pay for. It's typical chain fare which can be decent, can be ropey. We've been several times, and we've always found the service to be friendly, even when busy (and it does get very busy). Overall, it does what is says on the tin, but artisan it ain't.

Meal as always in a La Côte was good but what made the evening exceptional was the staff. The restaurant was extremely busy but the staff still managed to give great service. Just the right gap between courses and friendly conversation.
