Nice ambience, good food and very attentive staff. Haven't been often as I moved away but anyways somewhere I'd recommend.

Abbiamo mangiato bene, ma nella confusione totale, sembrava di essere in una trattoria. I tavoli sono piccoli e molto vicini, i camerieri passano continuamente sfiorandoti la sedia, trasportano grandi ruote in legno (?) da appoggiare sul tavolo per aumentarne o diminuirne la dimensione, scuotono tovaglie, sono impacciati e poco professionali. Abbiamo ordinato antipasto, primo e secondo e … sorpresa!!! Hanno portato tutto insieme e ci siamo trovati su un tavolo molto piccolo il salmone marinato, la pasta cacio e pepe e le milanesi: follia. Assolutamente non giustificato il prezzo per cibo ed atmosfera. Non lo consiglio, mi dispiace

My wife and sister in law attended on the Saturday and just had to return on the Sunday (this time with me and her husband) for a roast dinner. The restaurant has a side to accommodate dogs, so a win-win. The meals were excellent and great value for £s. We just couldn’t leave the place and stayed a while given the cosy ambience / atmosphere with fairy lights and in front of the cosy fire. Staff were so friendly too. For those walking, while the path from the BP garage isn’t great for a short section of what is a busy road, mind this venue is easily accessible via Eastfield, so easy to get to for residents from Blackwood, Broadwood, Westfield, Eastfield and Balloch, so you can leave the car at home (and have a beer, glass of wine 😁. We used to be regulars at the Yellow House around 20 years ago when it first opened, but we then moved out of the area. With some trepidation, we made our first trip back last week and were both delighted and astonished to find that it was every bit as good as we had remembered. A lovely warm welcome, relaxed ambiance, and the food was all great quality, beautifully presented and extremely tasty - the lamb and sea bass mains were particularly noteworthy, and the dauphinoise potatoes were sublime. Would definitely recommend, and only wish there was a restaurant of this style and calibre near where we live now.

Fabulous lunch at this friendly country pub. Managed to squeeze in the 3 courses, food was very tasty, clearly freshly cooked and served hot. Whilst the menu was small, we plan to return to try some of the other options. Booking was easy using their online form and my queries were answered swiftly. No hesitation in recommending.

A hidden gem… food is up there with St John, similar in style. Wine list is a little funky, mostly organic but they’ll find you something nice if you give good direction. Also incredible value

Complained once over missing food and they wasn’t having any of it ! Didn’t received a receipt either. The man on the phone told a loyal customer who spends well over 70 pounds each time I was wrong ! To then be told that we’d have to wait an additional 30 mins for the missing food. Absolutely disgusting definitely will not be coming back! Would rather take my money else where. He repeated the order back to me over the phone and still told me I was wrong.

We both ordered the flat iron steak. Came cold and tasteless. £17.75 each. Sent it back and got a refund. Very helpful staff but the food was awful. To be fair we have had a good steak at a Greene King place before but this was disappointing.
