This was a birthday gift from my partner, a performance of 'As You Like It' preceded by a meal at the rooftop restaurant. There was a two or three course option, we both opted for three. Each course had between 4 and 6 options so a good if limited choice (my partner is a vegetarian). We opted for starters of Chicken Parfait and Goats Cheese mousse. Mains were Slow Roasted Beef and Spinach and Ricotta Tortelloni. We finished off Chocolate and Hazelnut Tart and a Raspberry and Passion Fruit Fool. We couldn't fault any of the dishes, they were all excellent and perfect portion sizes. All in all a great start to an evening at the RSC.

First time here and seeing the views * at this height through the wall of windows. Lovely as the weather was dry. Credit to all the staff who worked like bees! *** We booked an early slot for many reasons and had an amazing experience. Food was well presented and all tasted delicious. It gets busy here…for a good reason. Booking ahead is recommended. Their prices are a bit dearer than street level dining options for pre-theatre 2-3 course set deals…perhaps that’s due to convenience/proximity and the added view. I think worth a visit…at least once.

Fabulous party in the round room. It was a surprise party for a 80th celebrations, and we have the round room. Great room for a private party. The food was pre ordered and arrived hot and the staff were excellent. I would highly recommend the RSC rooftop restaurant and the round room.

Lovely restaurant, great food and excellent service. We chose two courses for £29, in our case we had a main and a dessert. The chicken and cod dishes were delicious. The desserts were nice too, although there was a distinct lack of custard with the apple and cinnamon sponge. This is an ideal place for a great meal before theatre shows.

We dined here ahead of the evening's theatre performance and were not disappointed. The choice and quality of the meals we ordered were excellent. the waiting team were a real credit to the restaurant - attentive without being claustrophobic, efficiently taking orders, servicing food and drink and responding to the few queries that we had. It was a lovely way to celebrate our friend's birthday and set us up for a fabulous performance downstairs

The food was fantastic and beautifully presented. From start to end, all of the Rooftop Restaurant team we come into contact were so professional and welcoming. Service was timely but never rushed. This paired with the view and an amazing performance of MSND made for a truly special evening.

Fabulous food, great service and fantastic views! Stayed in an apartment and our host told us to look up at the old wall to see the seats that would have been there originally.

Pre-theatre dinner. More casual than expected. Lovely waiting staff. Meals came quickly. Beautifully plated but portions very small. "Cod with fondant potatoes" was a small piece of steamed cod, a little ratatouille and two slices of decidedly non-fondant potato. Can understand that you don't want to be in a food coma for the theatre but be prepared to have to grab a snack on the way home. Other dishes also failed to impress (risotto dry and stodgy) and fill. Of course, the practical option for pre-theatre dinner but not the best from a culinary point of view.

Read that they had changed the chef and menu so gave it a go pre theatre. Arrived 530pm and service was swift and friendly. Menus, drinks very prompt at arriving. They knew we had a 715pm play to attend downstairs. Good choice of food at all three courses and for what we had I thought very good value. My ham hock could possibly have done with a slightly punchier accompaniment, maybe a piccalilly, and the risotto was a little lacking but everything else was great. Pork belly one of the best I’ve had. Cod and chicken mains also really good. Puddings hit the mark perfectly- all of us were very content. Good portions, great evening.

We absolutely loved this! A lunch for 4 before am amazingly good show. The staff were well trained professionals delivering efficient, friendly service and the food was interesting and tasty. The view was, as you would expect stunning. The menu is not extensive but takes in a wide range of tastes with vegan and vedgi options. Nothing is perfect so after a long reflection we found something negative......... the desert two of us ate was so large it could have benefited from a spoonful more of the custard.

This is for the bar at the top of the theatre. The views of the town and river an amazing from here. There are comfortable seats on the bridge area to sit and enjoy a drink. We simply went in for a coffee one late morning after a little look round the theatre. Unfortunately the coffee was undrinkable (imho) and seemed like it might have been the first one though the machine at that stage in the day, as the area was empty when we arrived. Pleasant staff were helpful throughout the building.

This was a meal for my birthday, and my food allergies/intolerances were taken into account with no fuss or hassle, and everything was great. The meal was brilliant- fresh and cooked really well. Absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly, helpful and extremely attentive. This restaurant is one of our treats and will continue to be so. Highly recommended.

Great place - lovely position on the top of the RSC. Simple comfortable food and good value. The staff were friendly, the service was quick but not too quick and the food was delicious and well cooked. Perfect place to eat before a show and we will be back

This was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food (good value) was professionally presented and delivered by an experienced team. It is not often in these days of post covid that we felt really looked after. Extremely well done.

We had cocktails on the Swan Theatre balcony overlooking the river, and approach to the theatre. It was a delight. Friendly service and delicious cocktails, a terrific start to our eveing, pre-Shakespear's 'Merry Wives of Windsor'; the play was hilarious and theatre spacious.

We booked a table here as a treat before watching a play, and it was a great way to start the evening. The restaurant had a relaxing ambience and the food was lovely, especially the puddings which can often be a let-down elsewhere. The service was also swift; there was a slight delay in getting the bill but this was understandable as the restaurant was filling up by this time. We look forward to returning next time we're visiting the theatre.

I booked a pre theatre table on Sunday 3/6/18 at 6pm as we were seeing a show for my husbands' birthday and I had requested a window table or if the weather was good an outside one.

Worst meal out I have ever been served. Would never return. Awful! Soup looked like dishwater and was tasteless. Fish ok but portions tiny. Crime brûlée was lime green (pistachio) but looked very unappetising and was tasteless. Think they need a new chef!

We popped in for a treat lunch, we had wanted something quite light and had not realised it was a matinee day and you had to go for the full lunch menu but thought we would give it a go as it all sounded quite delicious. I ordered the mackerel starter my partner the Salmon. It arrived quicker than our drinks so we're quite surprised by the super fast service. It was beautifully presented, very chilled on very cold plates as if it had been taken straight from the fridge..we were both quite taken back by the fact it had no taste. It was if it had been made up early morning and just left..we were so disappointed. I had fish cake for the main which was very dry...my partners lamb was nice. With every extra charged for as the main comes with no veg or potatoes the bill quickly added up. It simply was not worth what we paid . They do add on service, even for just two people that you have to ask to take off if you don't want to pay it...and we didn't spot it immediate so do watch out for this..

We visited while staying nearby, although not really Shakespeare fans we wanted somewhere nice to celebrate a birthday. The food was really good, my partner said the beef was the best he'd ever tasted and the sea bass was lovely, same for the desserts. After an inital mix up with drinks service was fine and the food came out quicker than expected. It is on the pricey side but worth it for an occasion and the view is pretty good.

We've eaten here a few times and the quality is reliable. Most reviewers think this provides reasonable value and quality and I agree. This is a theatre restaurant and its main objective is to feed theatre-goers (quite a lot of them) promptly with decent food for a price which, by no means low, does not make the success of the evening utterly dependent on food. If you want a leisurely meal in a high class restaurant, or if you are happy with fish and chips, there is plenty of choice in Stratford. But if you need to eat something nice in pleasant surroundings and pay by 7.00 p.m., leaving time to visit the toilet (very clean by the way) and find your seat, then this is an excellent choice. The multinational waiting staff try hard with customers who are doubtless pretty demanding. 2 courses fixed menu is £20, drinks extra. But it is worth it for an anxiety-free pre-theatre meal.

Sterling choice for pre-theatre meal. Booked a couple of months in advance (as with tickets for The Christmas Truce). After reading a few of the negative reviews, I was a bit wary of my timings, leaving 75mins from arrival at the restaurant to start of play. I needn't have been concerned. Everything ran as smooth as clockwork. I was expected and the staff (from the manager down) could not have been more attentive or friendly. Food was portioned well enough for 2 courses to be entirely adequate and not over-facing us. Quality of food (and presentation) was outstanding. My wife had liver, which almost melted in the mouth, and I had lamb which was cooked to perfection.A perfect start to an excellent evening. Just over £50 for 2. All done in 45 mins. Perfect, allowing time for a browse round RSC gift shop.Shame it was dark. I imagine the view over the Avon is spectacular.

This morning I enjoyed a 'perfectly' made cappuccino on the outside rooftop terrace within the RSC on the 3rd floor. I would say access is perfect for those who are disabled and in wheelchairs.I was greeted very politely by the staff and I ordered a cappuccino of which I was offered to enjoy outside and brought out to me. The coffee was of quality unlike these from the coffee chains. The views looking over the rooftops of Stratford and Bancroft gardens were wonderful. Very good value and a peaceful atmosphere. A must do instead of the run of the mill coffee establishments.

The Roof Top Restaurant in the RSC at Stratford-uopn-Avon commands great views over the town and surrounding countryside. It was this that my wife and I decided to try the Express Lunch. This consisted of soup to start, a choice from the menu of a small main course, and a side dish including a portion of bread all for £10.00 a head!!! This represented great value for money, the service was excellent and the meals were well cooked and presented and were larger portions than we expected. I would highly recommend a visit but check first as this Express Lunch is only available on non-matinee days.

I booked a table here in advance, 2.5 hours prior to a performance. When we arrived the staff were attentive and we had no complaints about the table. We were given a menu and told that we couldn't order a la carte, as the only available menu at that time was the set one. (So I wasted my time looking at the menu on the website and we were stuck with the set menu). We ordered, and all the dishes we were served looked as if they had been plated up well in advance (and served almost immediatley, making us feel like we were on some sort of converyor belt). The starters were tastless, the main course looked over cooked, dry and tired looking. The cheeses we ordered were also plated up well in advance (the peashoots were dry and old looking). We were asked by the Restaurant manager after our main course if everything was alright, and without being overly critical, we did give some feedback, including the fact that we felt we were rushed. After that we got ignored! Evertually we did get the rest of the meal. If we ever go to RSC again, we'll definately try somewhere else. :-( The total meal for 3 including British Sparkling wine came to £120 (we did leave a tip).
