Lovely pub , fabulous food good beer 🍺

Went into the health hut for my dinner and had the most amazing chicken curry & rice. Well recommended to try. Keep up the great work health hut and defo coming back for that 10/10

Picked 4 meals from the 2 meals for £14 section on the menu, only to find out when we went to pay that 3 of the 4 meals under that section were not part of the deal! & had to pay extra £10. Why put them under the heading of 2 meals for £14 when they don't qualify. On speaking to the barmaid that served us, was told that they have had a lot of complaints about that, but there was nothing she could do! I think there is, take the non qualifying meals off! So misleading and needless to say, you have lost our future custom

We are here and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and free puddings - which the pub offers Mon-Sat. Also we went on Friday night and they had karaoke on which also was great and everyone had a great time. Sadly the real ale was off

Waited at bar to order food, barmaid had back to me and carried on cleaning wine glasses, served by gentlemen in the end. The barmaid had a face like doom.

We had the most friendly and welcoming night, we went for bottomless Eve, 5-7 on a Saturday, what incredible hours for a city, they were constantly asked for more drinks, had the best positively for more drinks and even love music. I can not wait for summer in their most gorgeous beer garden! Highly recommend! Xxx

Nice food at great prices but service can be quite slow, had to remove a star arrived there today at 6.50pm kitchen closed ? States online open until 8 pm ,seems to be getting worse every week now one staff member to serve two separate bars and food and kitchen closes at will no notice , removed another star today I purchased a chip shop platter £13.70 for me and a chicken platter for my son £11.70 so with a drink each £32 , my fish was paper thin with loads of batter and cost £5 more for a small fish cake 3 scampi and tiny amount of curry and even though states bread and butter I received none , never again both of us ate again after meal if you want value for money stick to the 2 meals for £13.50 Monday to Thursday as more expensive meals are just not worth it and often missing items listed on menu no reason given. Sorry I believe in honesty turned up today Sunday for dinner with son empty tables everywhere but it was only for bookings for mother's Day? , online says kitchen open 12 till 4 no mention of being turned away hungry if you haven't booked? , I had Sunday dinner there last week no mention of have to book for next week? Are we supposed to be mind-readers to eat at the gaer inn I have to admit I'm psd had to go eat at subway , it makes no sense to turn away regular paying customers in this day and age , next year they be saying they can't afford to stay open 🤔 hello your turning regular paying customers away with loads of empty tables, just makes no sense

Best pub in Newport and one of the best pubs I've been to. A frequent stopping point for many raconteurs, writers, artists, musicians and the likes over the years. Proper pub. Joe strummer used to drink in here so it must be decent

Sat inside and had toasted teacake and coffee. Teacake was large but jam was extra. Found it too noisy. Area for parking very ramshakle with old cars and vans.

Great service really good food, and good value pub food. There is also a car park opposite the pub. Overall we had a really nice night.

New Unpleasant experience today.... dreadful service....very rude....popped in intending to have breakfast and a pint....had a look on the app and thought I'd try a porter....went to the bar and asked the server for the beer and was met with "If you can see it I'll pour it". Excellent customer service clearly, the young lady was impolite and obviously didn't have any idea what ales were on offer! Naturally I left without ordering. Be a good while before I shall return. They always seem busy so I guess some servers think bad service is acceptable. I know it's a spoons but I do expect a degree of politeness

Ordered chia latte no coffee got it with coffee, ordered cheese and onion potato skins got cheese and bacon, which was very dry and seems like it had been there alnight. Absolutely won't be going there again.

Tasteless food. Very rude young member of staff shane/shaun? very bad smell coming from him. He was very disrespectful and unapproachable. Won't be visiting again. EVER!!!!
