Went for coffee. Busy. Pleasant unhurried service Clean, easy on the eyes My croissant was offered warm, how 😊

I've based this review on my children's opinion on this place. They are the ones that always ask to go here, they love the milkshakes and red velvet cake. The ladies in there are very nice, always with a smile on the face, so good with kids. The manager or owner however, he needs to start being nicer to his staff, speak to them in a respectful tone and not chastise them in front of customers. When the manager isn't there the atmosphere is a happy relaxed one. When he's on the floor and stomping around the mood tangibly changes, the body language and looks on staff faces visible change. They still give excellent service, but it's something I find very concerning. As an adult I don't like it, and I have told him he shouldn't be rude to staff the way he is. Prices for a slice of cake ridiculously high too. But milkshakes, I haven't found better yet.

Had my first coffee and cake here after living here for just over a year now and the coffee was lovely! So freshly made (cameral latte) staff very friendly, great atmosphere. I did eye this place up a while ago but never pushed myself to go in, but very glad I did and will be coming back.

Good choice of coffee This was my first visit and I was very happy with it. They will give you a card that they stamp which will give you money off your next purchase,, or even a free cup of coffee. Other drinks available and sweets.

Lovely coffee but food is expensive

This is my favourite coffee house in Newport town centre. When I venture into Newport I nearly always have a latte with one of their wonderful choices of freshly baked muffins. The coffee is of excellent quality and the service is friendly and efficient. I have also enjoyed their tortilla stacks and steak slice. Their blueberry muffins, white chocolate and raspberry and triple chocolate are my favourites although I have tried other flavours

There was the best chocolate brownie in Newport,until recently added more flour,and taste changed dramatically,I would rather pay more for better quality and taste

Absolutely love coming here (naughtily so, straight after gym!) but it’s always a nice stop to cool down and catch my breath before leaving the centre. Their iced coffees are really lovely, the hot chocolate is milky and frothy and the coffee tastes the same every time which is great! It has a lovely homely feel to it, the decor is calming, the music playlist even makes you want to spend longer and have another cupa. We’ve enjoyed sharing our treats which enables you to taste a bit more on the menu and be adventurous. The cakes are always tasty, fresh and melt-in-your-mouth. The only downside is that you can buy a whole cake of similar quality(not exactly the same) from the Supermarket, for the same price as one slice of cake. That makes me feel like it’s a bit extortionate, but alas, not much to do about it when rent drives prices up. We’re a mixed couple and have never felt that we were treated differently from other customers, and we often see familiar faces and pets, so in all a nice pit stop 😉 🍰 ☕️

Best paninis this side of of Italy. I don't know what they do differently but they are DELICIOUS, so much better than the sad flat stripy things you get elsewhere.

My favourite place with the best hot chocolate. Staff are always helpful and polite.

Awful owner, awful food and drink, awful place. Similar to another reviewer, I felt my abysmal treatment here was racially motivated.

We visited Coffee Corner at 10 am yesterday, and ordered two large Oreo hot chocolates and two Brie and Chilli Jam bagels. The Oreo hot chocolates were amazing, enjoyed them a lot, bagels were not so much. The atmosphere was good and would’ve like to have stayed a little longer but it did get a little crowded. I would say the food/drinks are slightly overpriced but good on the whole, worth a visit.

The Coffee Corner is our regular go to coffee shop in Newport. The service is great, the staff went above and beyond today when I made a mistake with my order, which was so lovely. Great food and drinks and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend a visit here.

They've done it again... absolutely superb. I have a bacon and brie panini, and the bacon is thick cut and cooked to perfection and the brie just oozing a little bit. Welsh cakes and a honeycomb latte for treat dessert. I flippin' love them, they kick the backsides off Star-Cost-Nero

This café was convenient to the hotel that we were staying in and the price of breakfast was considerably cheaper. It has a nice interior and pleasant staff. We enjoyed our breakfast of toasted tea cakes, toast, and two flat whites. It opens at 8 am.

Lots of pastry's with good selection of drinks and great helpful staff. Plenty of seating but soon fill up at lunch times.

Love frappe, sandwich, and cake. Really friendly service even though it was very busy. Obviously, a very popular place will be back for more. Everything looked so tempting

Had a fantastic Mocha and Bacon bap here recently. Baristas are very friendly and are complemented by the chill, understated vibe. Mocha had a perfect balance of coffee and sweetness, and the Bacon was thick and succulent. My go-to for a chill coffee in Newport.

I asked for a large black coffee, and that's what i got. the mug was a big one

I have given Coffee Corner 5 stars across everything. This is the best cafe in Newport and has become a favourite place to stop for a moment have a wonderful cup of coffee or a Smoothie and just chill. The staff are always so friendly and happy and nothing is to big or too small for them. I wish I could give them more stars

All the gear no idea. I have to say looks nice inside the setup looks amazingly planned out. But i was there for a coffee. A biscoff latte. Was excited but i knew from past experiences most coffee shops cannot deliver the flavours thats attributed to the name. It was awful. Im not sure what flavour it even was. It was 100,000,000% not biscoff. Dissapointed but was expected.

Delicious, accurate, on time and well packaged as always. This place can really teach the others how it's done!

Great selection of cakes & drinks I had a chocolate muffin it was lovely with a nice cup of tea , service was excellent & very friendly it sells dog ice cream 🍦 so my cockapoo was very happy

Coffee was over expensive. The loyal card is a con, it only brings an extortionate price down to a high one which can be bettered elsewhere.

Well all I can say.im highly disappointed.Went there on the 4th of may. Bought a coffee toast and a chelsea bun.then asked for a glass of iced water. After spending nearly £8 was told I couldn't have ice because they buy it in. The response from the staff behind the counter. If you want cold water we sell it in a fridge. Not the resoonce I was expecting. So I won't be going back again.

I had bought a drink and spent several hours at the establishment on my laptop ( as other customers did) without making any noise or disruptions. I returned the next day and within 5 minutes of arriving I was abruptly asked to leave by the owner. When I asked why, he said I hadn't purchased enough beverages the day before to warrant my stay, despite there being ample empty tables available. Even though I had never heard of such a thing, I was sympathetic and offered to buy drinks every so often this time around but I was met with hostility, blatant refusal and told he just did not want me there. What truly escalated the situation was the owner's threat to involve law enforcement. When I questioned the grounds for such drastic action, his response was that I was taking up a table another customer could use. I explained how I was also a customer like everyone else, I wasn't disturbing anyone and lots of empty tables. I have never experienced such a thing in ANY public establishment before, leading me to suspect it was racial discrimination. I don't like to throw around such serious accusations but the reasoning the owner gave for asking me leave while allowing other customers who were doing the exact same thing to stay seems to be the only explanations. Of course, he did not actually call the police because I defended myself and he also knew he had no grounds, especially since I was not disturbing/violating his property in any way. However, I chose to leave to my aown accord because I never want to be somewhere where I am not welcome. Subsequent discussions with other local coffee shop owners confirmed my suspicions; there are no grounds or maximum time limits for customer stays, especially during non-peak hours. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm sure the atmosphere is fine for most but if you are a person of colour I urge others to think twice before visiting Coffee Corner Response: Seeing as the owner has admitted there was CCTV that recorded the whole conversation and setting I'm sure he'd be more than happy to show the coffee shop being 'busy'. Because like I mentioned while I was there, there were a number of empty tables. Saying I had been there for 30 minutes is completely untrue. And I'm sure your CCTV camera has a time stamp and can vouch for that. I had just sat down and plugged my laptop in. In addition, when I said I was happy to buy a drink the owner did not agree so I am unsure what he wanted me to do. It is clear he just did not want me to stay . It is also extremely unproffessional to apply this so called policy to certain customers and not all. I was not argumentative, I was defending my right to stay. I'm glad you've mentioened the recording because now I know there isi proof to everything i have said. Thank you

Best mocha and coffee in Newport 😊

My little one and I had our first visit today and it's not going to be our last, strawberry milkshakes were "banging" as he said and the sausage roll was "the best". Staff are very welcoming and friendly. We can't wait to come back.

Tasty food ,but only 1 gluten free food ,apple + raspberry muffin wife says they are scrumptious lovely clean place friendly staff lively atmosphere ,lots different coffee tea ,hot chocolate with cream +chocolate flakes ,just go and indulge yourself, easy to get to ,toilets just outside +disabled to ,

Stopped in here for a drink before going bowling. Had a latte and it was easily one of the best tasting cups of coffee I've ever had. Simply superb.

The US office S4EP5&6 As soon as I set foot in the cafe,Deja vu kicks in and I left myself wondering have I been here? I swear, theres one in Cardiff? Anyways, nice hot chocolate and comfy seats, very busy but manage to find space. Workers also clear the table very quickly.

Very nice café. Friendly staff, very accommodating. I went there to study recently. Peaceful. As long as you make a purchase, you may stay as long as you like. But obviously, if its busy. Buy another drink. It's only polite.

Expensive average coffee. I had a black iced americano that was charged at the same price as an iced coffee with milk and syrups…and they put two cubes of ice in it, which melted straight away. In response to the reply - I still say over £4 is too much to pay for two shots of espresso with tap water and a few ice cubes (it certainly was not 6, as claimed, and they melted in a minute, leaving me with a watered-down drink that wasn’t ice cold) - I have never paid that much for an iced americano…in independent or chain stores.

Went in for latte and cappuccino, was NOT told that they only had full milk until I got my coffee and tasted it to find out that they had used whole milk. No apology and not inform about only having whole milk. Supermarket couple of minutes away but they did not get any other milk.

By chance, I arrived at this cafe to have a coffee, but I ended up having lunch .The cafe is clean and rustically decorated. The food was delicious

Had a nice lunch here and the server was very polite dispute the card machines playing up she kept professional. Food was lovely too. Card machines really need fixing though. Edit: amending review from over a year ago, card machines fixed ! It is now our go too spot. However, the music in-store recently (Nov 2022) has been rather loud I couldn't compete when talking.

A very nice cafe. Their Mud Cake is good. They do the best muffins in Newport. Nice toppings and always really fresh.

Very disapointed after many years of visiting this place. Asked for 2 chicken and bacon toasties. They arrived with cheese in and one with hardly any filling. My wife is dairy intolerant so could not eat hers. ( nothing displayed on package to say cheese..sign just said Chicken and bacon ) I returned mine as there was hardly any chicken or bacon in it Very poor

Amazing place with amazing staff, come here a lot and no trouble anytime. The only ready I didn't give it 5 stars is the fact that birds do tend to fly in to the coffee every so often, again this is not coffee corners fault however it doesn't put the best picture in your head while enjoying your coffee.

It was busy when I visited but the staff were friendly and efficient, with the queue moving quickly. A nice choice of drinks are available as well as a good selection of snacks and cakes.

Coffee and food is nice. The stuff sometimes could be a little bit nicer but it is a good place to enjoy a coffee.

Lovely coffee comfy seats good service but the toasted paninis are rather tasteless and lack garnish and crisps that are usually supplied by competitors. We shared two different ones, chicken jalfrezi, and chicken and chorizo both substandard.

There is nothing in the world better than a Coffee Corner Toasted Breakfast Bagel. Perfectly panini-crisp on the outside, then you sink into the soft cheese and egg, and then you hit bacon. It's flippin' transcendent.

Very clean despite being a busy day (Newport marathon and 10k) very quickly served and all staff were extremely friendly and chatty. Cake was stunning as was the hot chocolate
