We had a coffee and a tea. the tea was cold, and when I asked for some hot water, the response was that it was boiling hot, the other assistant, said ' Do another one' and that was the same, cold, The staff were not at all apologetic, Not the best of visits

The staff at Pringles cafe are awful, rude and not to mention racist. We visited (my mum and I) today and couldn’t believe the attitude and customer service (or lack of) that we received all because they thought we were English. FYI, the English tourists are probably the ones who are keeping you in business so maybe you should treat them better!! We are in fact welsh, born and bred and speak the language. However we don’t sound welsh and spoke in English to them so they obviously just assumed that we were tourists. First impressions weren’t great as the woman on the till was miserable and clearly didn’t want to be there but the real issue we had was with a staff member called Maggie. We placed our order and 10 minutes later Maggie brought the food to us. I asked if I could have some mayonnaise to which she replied “go and ask her” and then pointed to the woman at the till. I just want to add that Maggie hadn’t explained to us that condiments cost extra so we thought that was she being unhelpful. There was a queue and we didn’t want the food to go cold so asked if she could get us some. She gave my mum a filthy look and reluctantly handed them over, again never mentioned that we had to pay so we thought that they were free like most cafes/restaurants (In all honesty I think it’s greedy charging customers for a sachet of mayonnaise when they’ve spent £13 on a meal and I don’t know anywhere else that does it but that’s another argument) My mum witnessed Maggie talking and laughing with her manager as she walked away so we can only presume that they were talking about us. There was also a couple sat behind us and Maggie came over to them and started talking about us in Welsh thinking that we didn’t understand. Funnily enough they asked for some condiments and she gave them for free, even though it was an issue when we asked. The difference is they were clearly locals. By this point we’d had enough so I asked if I could speak with her manager to which she replied “why, is there a problem?”. She clearly knew there was. Her and her disgusting attitude! I spoke with her manager but was struggling to get my words out as I was so annoyed with how we had been treated. Maggie was on the other side of the counter but came over and started saying “I’m sorry, I wasn’t talking about you”. She wasn’t close enough to hear what I had said to him so clearly knew what she had done wrong and was just trying to cover her tracks. We couldn’t even finish our food as she made us feel so uncomfortable and so we just left. Initially I felt sorry for her manager but after reading the reviews online, this is clearly a regular occurrence and he obviously doesn’t care how his staff behaves or treats customers. The entire team needs some serious training in customer service. This all could have been avoided had she explained the sauce cost extra and asked us to pay at the till. We would have paid with no issues. Also, if you’re going to talk about your customers, please do it where they can’t hear you, it’s extremely unprofessional. I believe we would have been treated differently had they known we were Welsh too. They just took an instant dislike to us because they thought we were tourists and then back tracked when we confronted them. We do our best to support local businesses but this cafe does not deserve people’s support! Absolute shocking service and we will not be visiting again. They are just lucky that we have not taken it any further as we couldn’t find any contact details online!

I wish we had looked at reviews before visiting. The negative reviews are very accurate. I think charging £9.50 for inedible, very dry, and basic thin bread with minimal fillings is over priced. Coffee was 'alright' but also overpriced for what it was. The table was dirty. The staff were disinterested to the point that it came across rude. Looks deceptively nice from the outside, but in reality there's no atmosphere. The only positive was that they sorted a refund for the food. I'm really surprised that they haven't addressed these issues considering how long these negative reviews with similar issues have been going on. In my opinion, get some fresh food (even if you simplified the menu) and charge at least 30% less unless the food greatly improves. Deep clean the premises and advise staff on cleaning tables more regularly. I appreciate not everyone loves their job and anyone can have a bad day, but a more enthusiastic customer service approach would go a long way to encourage people to visit again (if the food quality and pricing was addressed). Overall disappointed, but happy that a refund was provided.

Manager was rude for no apparent reason and I appear to be not the only one to experience this. It's a real shame this guy is now running what could have been a really good place. Eaten there many times but that's the last sadly. It feels like they're trying to tank the business for some reason.

Hilary, who is disabled, and I were staying locally in our caravan (not for the first time). A very good friend of our drove over from Sheffield and we decided to go out for Sunday lunch. We went into Bala and parked outside Sospan Fach (that we had been happy to use on a previous visit). We had a drink each, Sunday Roast (Pork), Scampi Chips and Salad and a Ham Ploughmans. All well cooked and presented, tasty, plentiful and served with a smile. We were sitting chatting about to leave when the lady brought the Sweet Menu so we had Berry Pancakes and Cream, Eton Mess and Sherry Trifle. I paid and was more than happy with the cost for three of us to have had an enjoyable meal. I cannot understand the low score and might have to try some of the other places in Bala to see how wonderful they are to have scored higher! Then again I might stick to where I have been well catered for in the past and again today. Keep up the good work.

Starbucks is very overrated. The coffees are very expensive and very average. I feel like the coffee they actually put in their drinks are Substantially less than they used to. Starbucks was always a good call for coffee. I don’t think I’ll bother going in there again disappointed.
