Used this as we were on the Dotto train that goes round The Orme! Having said that when I visit Llandudno for a weekend I often pop in here. It's nice to support them and always a nice coffee! Great views on a nice day looking over the wall.....and always the sheep to say hello to by there!

Popped in on a windy walk round Great Orme. Friendly welcomes from lady serving and other lady bringing orders out. Good atmosphere with woodburner keeping room warm which was welcome today. Delicious teacake and nice big mugs of tea. Cake selection looked good too. Would definitely go again. Please note if you get there just after the land train has arrived, you will probably have to wait a few minutes while the queue is served.

Walked round Orme today with 2 x small dogs, am a lone walker. I remember from 80s 90s this place was welcoming and was a welcome stop for all walkers n dogs. How wrong I was with sign saying " DOGS NOT WELCOME". At this I could not leave my dogs outside, due to extreme winds, near a road, I would not be able to go in and keep eye on them . So unable to get refreshment. Disappointed. Did initially enter but felt the atmosphere unwelcoming. Seems that "Rest and Be Thankful" has lost the purpose of its origin .. horse drawn carriage would stop for Victorian tourist etc If Dogs not Welcome.. not prepared to buy anything from this establishment.. Nice Ferraris, BMW, Mercedes parked outside shows the clientele that they prefer . Next time will ensure prepared to picnic away from there.. OH remember no buying no toilet usage .

The two women is this place are a disgrace, we had stopped here while going round the orme on the train, as we pulled up the train driver driver announced that we would be taking a short stop here for photos and that a choice of coffee and cakes was available from the cafe, and gave the cafe a really good upsell, making us think we would be in for a nice treat, WoW how wrong was we, there must of been about 15 people in front of us all who came off the train, and each and everyone of us was spoken to like something off the bottom of her shoe (lady with dark hair) and the other on was even worse (little old women) they was behind the counter bitching about the customers who had arrived on the train, and why the train had to stop all the time, and to make it worse they even said that the train shouldn’t be running until the Easter holidays we stayed in the queue and ordered our coffee, and because we was told by the train staff to ensure we get a lid for our cup, So I asked the older lady who made our coffee for a lid, she pointed there they are, as if I’m meant to know if my first time as I’m a tourist here and I was finding things for our group to do who are coming in the Easter holidays 43 of us are coming and the train is on our list of things to do but I will be telling our group to get a coffee from the pier and take it round with us, as your staff are an absolute utter disgrace, We did mention it to the train staff when we went back to the train, who actually apologised for the horrid staff at this cafe, and did say they have spoken to the owners about this issue, Obviously the owners can’t control there rude staff, on the plus side the train staff did also tell us that over the Easter holidays there will be other staff working who are actually nice,

During a walk around the Great Orme on a cold Saturday a mate and myself called in for hot drinks and a sit down. Though it was a lovely thought of some refreshments, it was very off putting with the owner or manager asking what we would like?, no smile, no pleasantries. When we took our seat, adjacent, to what I thought was a door sealed off because we are not In the summer season, no it was a glass door that was the fire exit and it had, from the outside the shutter on the fire exit. Now surely this is breaking fire regulations, my next step, what do I do? Contact Conwy Council or the fire officers..... a very worrying situation if there was a fire! Dissapointed, my health and safety I'm my mind sais don't call again, wait til back in Llandudno where we can find a cafe with happy management and staff and no doubt a fire exit that is open in case of emergency!

Terrible customer service and as someone mentioned previously the coffee machine is broken and they are charging £3 for an instant coffee!!!! I paid £6.80 for a tea and slice of cake. As we were leaving I heard the dark haired member of staff complaining to the other staff member that customers didn't bring their cups and plates back when they were leaving. Normally I would take them back but after being charged a lot of money for a cuppa and slice of cake I chose to leave the cup and plate on the table. Not even a star!!!! A very discomforting and unpleasant experience to say the least. The brunette lady at the till had an unfriendly and unwelcoming demeanour, severely lacking personable skills. The food is not worth the price tag, extortionate and day light robbery. I'm so annoyed, I overpaid only to find an item missing from my order!! Oh and she will pass off non vegan treats as vegan!! They don't do vegan period nor smoothies! Thread carefully, the lady is obnoxious and will become increasingly inpatient. As for the name of the shop, more suited to 'Rush and Be Ungrateful', the lady's unfavourable conduct is a testament.Side note, the popular heaving reviews are attributed to the location Viewpoint not the cafe itself, which can be quite misleading to unsuspecting customers.

I could see only one person taking orders and making the coffee, tea etc. A young girl who looked about to burst into tears, was losing a battle to clear the dirty pots. I am generally a patient person, and appreciate that there be issues with covid, but if your business is so understaffed, for gods sake SHUT until you can deliver an acceptable level of service. We walked from town up through the toll gate to the cafe. It was a really hot day and we all drank a lot of water so couldn’t wait to get refreshed and have a toilet break at the cafe. That’s where our expectations were too high. A toilet stop at a remote cafe? Nope. The water supply isn’t on the mains apparently and so they were closed due to lack of water. Fair enough, ifa.) expectations were managed and signs were placed at the toll gate and along the way - particularly at the junction where you can choose to go up to the summit cafe insteadb.) the greeting at the cafe was a little more welcoming with a more forthcoming explanation of how much further the next available toilets wereBut at £4.50 for 3 bottles of much needed water we had to turn back, instead of completing the loop, so our bladders didn’t burst. I would imagine that a portaloo would increase business as we would have stayed and spent more if we weren’t so uncomfortable. What a fantastic potential the place has given the location and advantage of no competition. There are an increasing amount of negative views which is such a shame. I hope the main points of the reviews are taken constructively and this cafe turns it around, as I’m sure that is what every disappointed customer would like to see.

The Victoria sponge was stodgy and tasteless, the plop of berries next to it was so sour. Most staff were not wearing face coverings - visors do exist! One unmasked woman took a tub of mini marshmallows (for hot chocolate), from under the counter and started eating them, no gloves. How vile, a nice way to pass covid onto the customers. And the worst thing. No water in the toilet cistern or sink taps, so no hand washing possible - disgusting!!! How is it allowed to stay open???? 26/6/21

I had looked at the website which said we'd be sure to receive a warm welcome.'Warm welcome'?, far from it. There was nothing like, "Hi, how are you" from the sour-faced woman behind the counter. I asked if we could have sandwiches and all I got was, "Not today".And the food pictures on the website are a misleading. All I could see was one food item in a glass fronted cooler cabinet, no idea what it was, and a couple of slices of cake and some treacle tart on the counter. Needless to say we just left without buying anything.

Stopped for a cuppa just over half an hour before closing time, ignored by staff on entry and certainly no warm Welsh welcome. Given takeaway cups and cake was duly wrapped in foil, clearly we weren't wanted inside! We were the only ones here so they can't even claim they were busy.No please or thank you, I'll bring a flask next time!

About half-way round the Great Orme walk whichever way you do it this is a real haven and great rest-stop. Serving a variety of light food and drinks it has indoor and outdoor seating. Make sure you avoid the times when the local tour bus stops off.

Are thre any Welsh words for please and thank you? We were unfortunate enough to visit this caff on a drive round The Great Orme. After spending nearly £20.00 on tea and cakes for 4,No word or pleasantries of any kind.My latte was cold and on asking for it to be warmed up it was done with a bad grace and an angry look. The sign said dont flush the loo unless necessary. It needed flushing when I went in but it would'nt work anyway. My advice is to carry on round the Great Orme and eat in town.

Walking around the Great Orme and taking I some great views on a lovely day, much needed refreshments were called for, I'm dissapointed with, I believe the owner ( no please or thank you) small portions of cake yet over priced......

Very grateful to find the cafe open. Nice coffee, lovely cake (only cake etc) Friendly staff. Toilets were open (ref to a previous review saying they weren’t when they visited)

Annual jaunt to The Orme and the cafe was, as usual, busy. Once served we sat outside and had our drinks, only then realising the staff had made the tea with not very hot water! Wife needed the toilet but, once again, the loo was "out of order", and even the portable toilet that had been there last year was nowhere to be seen. We have now visited several times without being able to use the toilet facilities...

Visited the cafe on our trip up to the Orme. Lovely atmosphere- fab views - lovely food. The owner made us feel very welcome and nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend. Can’t wait to go back one day.

This is a very simple cafe with a very limited menu, toast, cake, scones, not much else, but everything of the finest quality and a lovely setting. Just what we needed after wild camping on the top of the Orme and walking down in the hot sunshine. Lovely little place. Good staff, excellent covid safety protocols.

After discovering the toll road, we found this little gem of a cafe at the top, after taking some pictures, we decided to stop and have a tea and coffee. Service was great and all in all we were pleasantly surprised.

Walked around the Orme to this cafe, had a hot chocolate which is quite large and my hubby had a coffee. No sign on the door to say toilet is out of use. Would never have bought the 2 drinks if we had known because its quite a walk to the next ones on the west shore. Won't ever go back there again. No complaint on the drinks, both very nice.... although £3.50 for a hot choc is quite steep!!

Usually stop here when walking around the Orme and enjoy the cake and coffee. This visit however felt different. We have the restrictions of Covid 19 but the rules were definitely not being adhered to here. Then found out the toilets were not open.! Long way back down, wish I hadn’t had that coffee!!

We called today after a lovely walk. Pit stop before hitting the road and heading back home. There seemed to be plenty of staff, and clearly each one had their own one task, but they are so slow and someone needs to take charge with social distancing. The queue soon built up to out the door, but that was the speed of service. There was nobody wearing masks inside the cafe, and no markings, so everyone in the queue was less than one metre between each other. The hand sanitiser is on the counter where you pay, so too late by then! There is one toilet. With amount of customers there should be two in operation, or limit the number of customers. This is only eatery we have been to in Llandudno where there was no evidence that we are in a pandemic until you sit outside and there is 2 metres between tables. The coffee was nice and the cake, which is generous was good.

Been calling into this cafe whilst walking around the Orme for 20 years approx 2 or 3 times a year for coffee. Couldn’t believe it today when they came up with the water from the well explanation as to why the toilets were closed. Not a good PR MOVE. Never heard this explanation before, won’t be going back

Knowing that their prices are extortionate, we stopped for just a coffee and to use the toilet facilities which we were later told was closed due to water shortage. I know they use spring water but we've had the wettest July and if they can't provide toilet facilities then they should close (section 20 LGMPA). In order to safely distance we sat at a table two metres away from another couple. This must have annoyed the staff, but then a blonde haired lady came over, huffed and loudly cordened off the area between us with chairs. Please don't treat your customers this way. A simple request or explanation is far more courteous and respectful. This used to be such a lovely cosy place to stop with lovely paninis sold, but now it's shop bought cake vastly overpriced. Not very good customer service all round. Walk the Orme regularly, but won't stop here again.

Arrived about 12pm on Friday in 30 degrees of heat! No parasols out on tables Yes I can understand that it gets extremely windy up there! I heard other people asking to use the toilet but they weren’t open. Was charged £5.00 for two ice lollies, one was broken which I was informed I could have cheaper? Hardly any choice of ice lollies and no milk shakes! Yes I can understand it is difficult to operate under current restrictions but felt they may as well be closed.

came here for lunch with my young 2 daughters, we all had just plain cheese and onion paninis and cups of coffee which one would think couldn’t be served wrong however, 2 of the 3 paninis lacked cheese all 3 were cold including our coffees, I attempted to complain to a young lady who seemed to be in charge , she refused to take our food and drinks back and told me if we didn’t like the food we were free to go elsewhere. very unwelcoming wouldn’t recommend.
