Had a great night our, the decor is really nice. Michelle deserves a shout, she was a great server and very friendly.

All very well set out re covid rules. Drinks needed to be ordered via app on your phone. Good range of drinks at good prices.

Dos chicas encantadoras que nos saludaron y nos mostraron nuestra mesa, pedimos asientos al aire libre, estaba sorprendentemente sucio, el balcón de vidrio y la puerta apestaban absolutamente, con un panel de vidrio cubierto con excrementos de aves, obviamente no se ha limpiado años, pedí bebidas, cuando llegaron mi vino era horrible y la cerveza de mi esposo no era buena, dejamos nuestras bebidas completas y le dijimos a la chica por qué nos íbamos, se disculpó pero no nos devolvió el dinero, Nunca recomendaré que Ot vuelva, mi esposo le hizo saber al consejo lo mal que estaba, incluso los muebles interiores estaban sucios. . . . . ¡Nos dimos cuenta de por qué el lugar estaba completamente vacío! . . .

Visité aquí el viernes 4 de septiembre. La información inicial y los requisitos fueron buenos. Fuimos, escogimos una mesa y pedimos nuestras bebidas. Son muy caras, pero nos las traen con prontitud. Mi única queja fue que la gente no siguió el sistema unidireccional y ningún miembro del personal lo hizo cumplir. ?‍??

Yo, mi hija y un amigo visitamos Salt el 2 de enero. Llegamos aproximadamente a la 1 pm, nos sentamos y estudiamos el menú en la mesa. Habiendo decidido lo que queríamos, fui al bar y pedí gambas y papas fritas, huevo y papas fritas y solla y papas fritas. Me dijeron que ni las gambas ni el jamón y los huevos estaban disponibles. Después de una rápida consulta con los demás, pedí bacalao y papas fritas dos veces y una solla y papas fritas.Después de unos 20 minutos llegó un plato de bacalao y papas fritas. El bacalao estaba recocido y sin sabor y los guisantes de jardín que venían con la comida estaban fríos. Pedimos salsa tartare, que era parte de la comida según el menú, pero nos dijeron que no había ninguno disponible. La camarera regresó cinco minutos después para decirnos que el segundo bacalao estaba en camino pero que la solla se retrasaría porque solo una freidora estaba funcionando. Le preguntamos cuánto tiempo demoraría ya que habíamos reservado entradas para el teatro y la camarera dijo que se enteraría. Regresó cinco minutos después para decirnos que la solla acababa de salir de la freidora y estaba en camino. Entre 5 y 10 minutos después llegó el segundo bacalao. La masa alrededor del pescado estaba casi quemada, los guisantes nuevamente estaban fríos y las patatas estaban poco cocidas y duras. Luego llegó la solla, como el bacalao, estaba muy cocida y nuevamente con guisantes fríos y chips duros poco cocidos. Dada la actitud del personal con respecto a ese punto y el horario en el que estábamos, una queja parecía inútil, pero dejaré que el lector tome su propia decisión sobre la posibilidad de comer aquí. No hace falta decir que no lo seremos. Casi el peor servicio y comida que he tenido en la vida.

Five of us had Sunday roast. Disappointing, though the cauliflower cheese was excellent (but cost a pound extra). Four small BAKED potatoes, officially roast but they hadn't seen any oil. Lamb was good and gravy but the rest was boring and just adequate. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Visited here a few days ago and well a must say it was bloody delicious. The young girl behind the bar Lauren was exceptional and did everything she could to help. Will definitely be back here soon. Great kids menu may I add 😊

Visité Salt con 16 amigos para un almuerzo y bebidas antes del teatro. Así que desearía haber leído las reseñas primero, ya que reiteraría algunos de los comentarios ya realizados.Prepedí nuestras opciones de comida de antemano, pero aún había un retraso cuando llegamos. También mezcle con una comida. Sin embargo, lo más preocupante fue una comida, ensalada de pollo y tocino, pollo frío y crudo. Regresó y esperó a que se sirviera una comida fresca, para ser justos se le cobró. Las comidas eran de un tamaño muy pobre, para ser sincero, el peor tamaño de las porciones que he encontrado mientras comía fuera.Es cierto que no volveremos a visitar.

16 de nosotros nos reunimos, reservamos mesa con anticipación y también informamos de todas las comidas. La ensalada de pollo y tocino estaba cruda. Devuelto. Pastel de carne tan frágil que era horrible. El personal de la camarera / bar estaba demasiado ocupado por teléfono como para interesarnos porque estábamos cortos de cubiertos, pero después de varias llamadas educadas que ignoró, otra persona del bar nos ordenó. Encontró que la camarera todavía en su teléfono estaba en el baño. Obviamente fuera de la vista. Bebidas caras. La comida que peor se come en la bahía. Nunca visitará de nuevo

Planning on having multiple drinks and a catch up with friends today, we made the terrible decision to venture into Salt Bar. Whilst ordering our drinks we were met with a rude, ignorant and impolite bartender who quite frankly I would describe as a considerable hinderance to the business. Having worked behind a bar for over 10 years I would consider myself extremely lenient towards fellow hospitality employees, however I feel this is an incident that I was shocked by and could not let slide. After making my beverage incorrectly, I asked politely to receive the drink that I ordered; I was met with a disgustingly sharp response, that I had ordered it incorrectly and that I was in the wrong. Now having made this drink multiple times in my career, I don’t think it’s out of order to tell you that I did not order the drink incorrectly, your bartender/manager or whatever she was, was simply uniformed and undereducated. Either way, if she cannot not make a simple spirit and mixer correctly she probably shouldn’t be on the bar to begin with. Adding insult to injury, after reluctantly agreeing to make the beverage that I had originally requested, I was made to wait a prolonged period whilst she served everybody else that was waiting at the bar. I predict it probably would have taken approximately 10 seconds to dispense my drink from the optic and serve it, but clearly the unhappy customer (that by the way, still approached the situation politely) was last on her priority list. Your roof deck was lovely, and we would have stayed, but the disgusting manner of your staff has put a sour taste in my mouth one that I would like to avoid in future.

Visited with my daughter and young grandson for lunch before a visit to the theatre. Very disappointed with our visit here. The bar is very scruffy, seats dirty. Meal very disappointing. The two men behind the bar were quite pleasant but one female member of staff who appeared to be management was extremely unpleasant. Will not visit here again until improvements are made.

Visited this evening and I must say I was very disappointed. The restaurant was practically empty at 7pm on a Monday evening but we still waiting 47 minutes for our food to arrive. The manager was not very helpful and suggested we only waited 35 minutes, when I questioned the receipt she had in her hand she agreed it was 47 minutes as our food was just arriving as we were complaining to her. She just said that’s how long it sometimes. We had 3 adult meals and 1 child’s meal. Would definitely not recommend unfortunately.

Good for drinks after work in the bay. Such a convenient location and lovely to sit outside in this weather.

Currently in Salt in Cardiff Bay and I am appalled at the attitude and behaviour of a staff member. She was extremely rude and interrupted us as we sat at a table and tried to gather an extra seat - she stood at our table and without explaining just removed the extra seat with such an attitude. We thought that she had come over to remove the dirty plates of a previous customers but no she has obviously had a long day but still that's no excuse for rudeness, to be perfectly honest I will never come back here and will leave as soon as we have finished our drinks. I honestly expected more from Salt. Totally unnecessary behaviour, absolutely shocking he has just said that if we continue to try and clear our table she will make us leave... we have just asked to speak with the manager to which she replied NO... speechless

I came to salt bar with my beautiful partner who has wanted to pay a visit for quite some time. We were greeted by your duty manager, Lauren. She was so kind and welcoming and made us feel like we belong. She served us at the bar and took her time and was very inviting despite our very long order as we worked up and appetite from our breath taking walk around your excellently located restaurant. She served us our food, which I’d like to add, tasted just as Devine and it smelt! We finished every crumb on our plate and she came and took it away whilst adding small talk with a bright smile on her face! As we were leaving, we asked for her name to write this review. Please tell Lauren a big thanks from us, our time was splendid!

Hoy comí en Salt, una de las mejores comidas que he tenido desde que fui allí. El personal siempre es muy amable y servicial, especialmente Lauren y Faith. Nada es demasiado para ellos. Recomiendo encarecidamente el lugar especialmente la comida. Nunca me han decepcionado.

El almuerzo del domingo solo se puede describir como una inclinación no comestible. Me dieron una pechuga de pollo recubierta servida con un cuchillo de carne, verduras viejas incoloras y papas asadas que estaban crudas por dentro. Pagamos extra por los cerdos en mantas - ¡eran salchichas frías de cóctel con rociadas de trozos de tocino seco! ¡Chocante! Normalmente puedo comer cualquier cosa, pero sabía que esta comida me haría sentir mal. Sentí como si armaran mi asado del domingo con sobras de la semana. El personal parecía harto y los alrededores sucios. Muy decepcionante. El personal era consciente de nuestra decepción pero eran apáticos.

Didn't eat here and tbh I wouldn't as don't appeal to me but ok for a drink or two. Large pub with a friendly atmosphere which attracts lots of hen and stags . Ok for a pint or two before moving on

Called in for something to eat before going on to the Glee Club around the corner. Dear God, we found a table, the place was empty, got some drinks and ordered our food. The portion sizes are small, the food was ok but the smell of stale urine was off putting as was the filth. Stains on all of the chairs and sofas, generally run down and tired. Prime location, poorly managed with little attention payed to the quality of service, no one provided cutlery we had to look around and found jam jars with napkins and cutlery in them. Get your act together Brains, you have a prime spot, make your customers welcome and clean the bloody place !!

Nice place but poor service. Bar server seemed fed up. Food took over an hour to arrive and was barely warm abd overcooked. Maybe short staffed. I work in the industry so am very sympathetic but we had a poor time.

I called in around lunchtime today with my wife and children, this was our first visit and we were delighted with the service, variety and quality of food! We stayed until 5pm to also enjoy the 2-4-1 cocktails which were also amazing! We will without a doubt be returning very soon!

We visited before attending the millennium centre. There was only one girl serving who was trying her hardest to serve cocktails and take food orders and serve food.

We pre booked and pre paid for our meal IN FULL prior to our arrival on 5/1/19 at 12:45pm. This was a meal before a theatre show

Called for family meal when out and about in Cardiff Bay. Nice layout and not too busy. High chair available. Comfortable table. Pleasant interior. Drinks were good, glasses clean. Food was excellent. A more upmarket equivalent to Wetherspoons. Will be going back next time we are in the area.

Enjoyed a lovely meal today, I had the beast burger and it was amazing, was served by Lauren who was very helpful, after she had bought out our meal and came back to check how it was. Will definitely come back here again

I came to salt on Saturday evening, service was great. We had salmon, steak and taverners chicken which were all fantastic. They even had a dj later on in the night which was a really good addition to a lovely Christmas get together. 2 for 1 cocktails made it really good value for money too. Would defo recommend!

So, I have given Brains a few weeks to reply to my email before resorting to trip advisor, but having had no reply, I have no option. I have not contacted the bar directly as I see no point. Visited for lunch on a Saturday before a matinee performance at the millennium centre. We were a group of ladies and a couple of children. We had pre-ordered our meals. I asked the bar attendant which white wine they had and was told, yes, they had red, white or rose (?). I repeated the question and was told that there was either Pinot Grigio or ‘sauver’ (possibly Sauvignon blanc?). I ordered a large glass of Pinot Grigio. Whilst I accepted the £6.90 price (this was to be my only glass for the day as I was driving later that evening), I was dismayed to find when I tasted it that it was rancid. I’m no wine connoisseur (!) but it was far from pleasant. I went back to the bar and expressed my opinion that the wine was maybe corked, to be told that there was no way it could be due to screw cap. I insisted that it really did not taste right. The attendant put a straw in it, took it to another barmaid, who tasted it, then they brought it back to me saying there was nothing wrong with it (apart from possibly the addition of someone else’s saliva which was now in the mix!). Awful attitude!! The meal was acceptable (a small chicken Caesar salad), but desserts were poor. I found what appeared to be a piece of plastic in the sticky toffee pudding and those who chose cheesecake found that it was still frozen (and subsequently returned hot, straight from the microwave!). Overall, felt like we were treated like a drunken group on a night out who should be more than happy with what was thrown at them, and the sticky, grotty environment!! Also-confused by the other reviews on here. A strong trail of disappointment interspersed with a wonderful review here and there?!? Also, not sure why there are two accounts on tripadvisor so will copy this to the other account also.

Fantastic fajitas, very cheap on 2 for 1 Monday’s. Served by the lovely Luke and Sam. Will definitely return!

Siamo stati a pranzo la domenica e abbiamo preso il menù da 9.99 puond con antipasto e secondo piatto. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo non è male ma il cibo non era niente di speciale. Non aspettatevi troppo!

Es la segunda vez que visité Salt en Cardiff Bay. La primera vez comí hamburguesas y papas fritas con una cerveza. Era aceptable pero nada bueno. El precio era de unos 10 p tan razonable. Vi un plato de parrilla de barbacoa y pensé en darle otra oportunidad. Así que cuando los amigos me visitaron, lo intentamos. En primer lugar, el ambiente está lejos de ser bueno. Hacía frío en el interior, no muy lleno, tal vez este fue el momento para sospechar de este lugar. De todos modos, pedimos el plato de barbacoa y esperamos unos 30 minutos. En lugar de un bistec raro, el bistec estaba más bien hecho. Ok, esto puede suceder, pero esto fue solo la punta del iceberg de hielo. La carne estaba acompañada por algo así como 9 papas fritas, no realmente deliciosas y nutritivas. Además, el cerdo era lo peor. Estaba seco, nunca vi nada como sal, pimienta, hierbas o una salsa. Lo mejor de la comida fue el huevo frito, así que algo que no puedes arruinar. . . . Podría seguir con la mala experiencia, pero esto debería ser suficiente.

Fui aquí con un grupo de compañeros de trabajo. Pedí tortillas vegetarianas. Me dijeron que el guacamole no había sido congelado. Las tortillas estaban directamente del paquete y no se calentaron. Para el postre nos dijeron que no usaran crema ni helado, que la camarera volvió a salir y dijo que no había crema, solo crema batida enlatada. El pudín de toffee pegajoso estaba cocinado. Odio dar malas críticas, pero no volvería aquí por comida, pero tal vez sólo por bebidas.

grubby place with wrong attitude with staff, went the day after a bank hol, ordered ham egg and chips told no eggs wanted a pint of carling had run out..this is a place which has a premier place in Cardiff bay. rubbish

We had our lunch here while we walked around the bay. The waitress was slow and a little rude. The food and drinks were quite expensive (first time I saw a coca cola bottle that was 200ml!). We had a salad, which was quite good but a small portion and taglitelle, which were overcooked and quite bland. It’s not a bad place, but not the best in Cardiff.

Used to love this place. It used to have a nice big stage area where local bands could come and do a set. Usually indie rock or pop. Now it's more of a club setting. Dance music and no stage. Bar is huge but always too busy. Bouncers there all the time. Smokers by the doors. Burgers being served in the day. Feels like a Rev's or any old club and doesn't really have much charm anymore.

Ok first the positives, staff was lovely both gentenlem we spoke to was more than helpful. We both ordered a lasagne with garlic bread the lasagne was lovely , garlic bread was lovely just to burnt for my liking. That's where it ends the seats were filthy ended up sitting on my coat,tables was sticky had to move tables becsuse of flies and yes we told a female member and staff and she just said ok. Desert well we both ordered waffle banana split with toffee sauce. The waffle was frozen twice and so was the banana only nice part was the sauce so after having two frozen deserts we ordered a new one I had toffee pudding, my partner had cheese cake well we gave up this time my cake was actually ok and my partner cheesecake looked beautiful because your presentation of the deserts are very well executed I will say so. But yet it was frozen and we was already nearly late for our film so we just got up and walked out so disappointed because we seen the menu and we was going to come today for Sunday Lunch but not after that disatser.

Had a table booked for a quiet meal with hubby, were seated at a high table? Then told to place our order at the bar, after getting to the bar I was faced with 40+ people waiting to be served, mainly hen and stag parties, not enough bar staff, then the loud night club music started. We got up and left and went to another restaurant close by, much nicer, quieter and relaxed. We had a lovely evening. You can either have a Pub, a restaurant or a nightclub, you can not mix all 3 and be successful, we could not have a conversation over the load music and I could not even get close enough to the bar to get a bloody drink. If you want a loud night out clubbing its the perfect place but it’s no good for a quiet meal for 2. Sad we never got to try the food, menu looks good, pity about the restaurant being in the middle of a nightclub.

Really bad service - bar tender was extremely rude and unhelpful there was 7 of us willing to spend money but due to her we left shortly after. They have run out of certain flavour vodkas and were unwilling to swap flavour in a cocktail. Also waited 5 minutes until anyone was at the bar.

Popped in for lunch after hearing good reviews from friends and upon arriving we’re greated by Sam who talked us through ordering and recommend some excellent cocktail and gin deals to accompany our food. Throughout the visit we were made to feel very welcome and will definitely be visiting again.

We had dinner there Today. Couldn’t sit outside upstairs to start with as all the tables and chairs were covered in water from yesterday’s rain, which none of the staff could be bothered to wipe dry, so we went back downstairs inside, after a further 30 minute wait our food arrived, salt cellar wasn’t work, due to damp salt blocking it. Then started my mixed grill and this is how I describe the meal!!! Egg York was cold in the middle I was afraid to eat, sausage was like chewing on an old wellie, steak was dripping in blood after asking for it to be cooked medium to well done!!! Pork was burnt, dry and tough, also both mine and my sons plates were soaked in meat juices making the chips all mushy. No member of staff not even once asked us was everything ok? Which I’m glad of now, could of ended up making someone upset!!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN

Absolutely awful my wife had her meal 20 mins before mine and they didn't have everything she ordered also very expensive and the staff were very rude

We ordered curry - 2 for £12. I ordered the ‘homemade curry of the day’ (Chicken Korma) and my daughter ordered Chicken Tikka Masala. After 30 minutes, I asked the manager where our meals were. He went to check and said it was being ‘plated up’. 5/6 minutes later our meals arrived!!

Turned up at Cardiff today with family. Passed salt which looked quite inviting from outside the building. We decided as a family of 6 4 adults and 2 children to have an evening meal. Wrong decision. My daughter age 23 ordered 2 cocktails not a problem she then returned to the bar where I purchased another 2 only for the same bar man to ask her for id when he should've asked the first time.

Very poor experience of salt. Visited Cardiff as a family holiday. Had 2 4 1 cocktails which was okay (didn’t get asked for ID) on return trip to the bar get asked for ID by the same person who served me the first time...

Sailed to the city and moored up close by. Decided to try salt for a late lunch. Bad decision. The barman was trying his best to do stuff which is fine. But the toilets had no soap. The food was reasonable but they had no mashed potato. Can't the chef mash spuds? The best of all was the dirty tables and check the underside of the stairs and light fittings out where you are sat under eating your food. Lots of people were complainignabout the wait times etc. Im sorry but it wont be there in 6 months time. There seems to be a management issue and i mean above the team manager. I mean an area manager who doesn't understand basics.

Absolutely awful! Service we were told about an hour, after 1.5 hours we went and asked where our food was ( which was only three starters). Then it arrived, when I was still eating the waitress came up and removed my food, took it away before we had chance to say we hadn't finished! In shock! Also while at the bar one person serving, two others came up and served people who had just got there, myself and a gentleman were totally ignored for a while, did complain at the time. Also there was a couple in there for over two hours, came in with costa coffee, had no food or drink, nothing said to them, wont be coming back! Needs a shake up.

We ordered 2 salads and both were amazing, however the place needs a deep clean. Salt and pepper shakers are grim, tables sticky and my flip flops stuck to the floor when I walked!

We booked the upstairs for Saturday 4th August and we had people coming from all over the UK for our leaving party, to be told that they dont book the upstairs out in the summer, then they contradicted themselves and said it was booked out a minute later.

Good food, good beer and a good price. With the additional extra of being able to look out over the bay. Works for me.

Booked this for my daughter for her 21st.birthday for a meal and drinks. Paid the 50 deposit required for a table . When she got there the member of staff was extremely rude saying they had received the deposit but no table was available? They then kept them waiting for almost three quarters of an hour. The service and attitude was disgusting. This ruined her birthday of what should.have been a specisl time.

Ordered three meals. Taverners Chicken, no garden peas, mushy peas or nothing.

Having visited here many times over the years I don't think I shall bother any more ; on a very busy Saturday evening with the food festival you would hope this place would be better organised. Sadly it seemed the staff there were disorganised and in fact a bit clueless. Incorrect drinks given, different prices charged for the same rounds (we only realised later on) and the whole place was messy with the walk down the staircase being a game of 'dodge the toilet paper'.

We came here as tourists. There are far too many places to eat, but we prefered this name. It's two sroreyed. We took a table. But they do not have waiters. Came down again, ordered, took our beer or other drinks and went up. Later the bartenter brought the food. I ordered welsh beef chili. I don't know about welsh food, but it was not a piece of meet as I usually imagin.

A small group of us went in for food on a lunch break. On ordering we were told there was a 30 minute wait on food which we accepted. In the end we had to wait 45 minutes which was far from ideal as we had a limited time for our lunch break. I didn’t quite understand why it took so long as apart from a few other tables in the outdoor seating area where we were, the inside was completely empty. You were meant to get your own cutlery but there was no knives or forks so had to ask the waiter for some.

I have been visiting Cardiff once a year for a few years to catch up with my friend and ex colleague. We popped in to Salt on Sunday and Monday, Sunday for cocktails and Monday for a bite to eat. Dan was on duty both nights. Sunday, we were a little merry, having partaken of cocktails else where, unfortunately, I had an accident and broke a glass, Dan was very good at sorting this out and dealt with the whole thing very professionally. We were more sensible on Monday, and didn't realise until after we had ordered our meal, that there was a 2 for 1 offer on, which was a great saver. Will definitely return next year.

went there for a drink this eve. service was good but the smell was terrible inside. went to the toilets and they were disgusting. the urinals obviously hadn't been cleaned and seemed to be full of dried vomit. cocktails were not very tasty. Don t intend to return.

Nice evening with good service from Adam, very helpful! And some live music outside which added to the atmosphere.

Visiting a friend who goes to uni in Cardiff and they recommended this place. Food was excellent, reasonably priced and the portion sizes were great, definitely filled up 2 hungry students! Special mention to Lauren our waitress who was top notch all afternoon and made sure that we were looked after perfectly!

Great range of drinks on the menu, was served by Alex and recieved some excellent cocktails. 100% would return, staff were friendly, atmosphere was fun and overall an enjoyable experience!

Food very nice, and waitress Lauren was very helpful and polite . Will definitely go back and visit again

Came Saturday night for the bank holiday and we really weren't disappointed! The beach party vibe was great and the Strongbow dark fruit daiquiris OMG!!!

Had a really enjoyable time here with friends recently, the service (particularly from Martha) was fantastic. Looking forward to spending more time here again.

Used to visit here a lot however it has rapidly gone down hill. Went on Sunday evening for food sat outside, the starters were ok however the mains were freezing cold, when I picked up the sauce there was a massive flurry of ants. All the tables were filthy dirty, seagulls were taking baguettes from the tables! I told Michelle who was supposedly the manager but she wasn't bothered about any of it in fact she didn't look like she even wanted to be there. Spoke with Dan after and he was apologetic and seemed to be fully aware of Michelle's lack of service or care. Won't be returning here again anytime soon, for a pub in such a prime position down the bay they need to shape up and quick!

Drinks sorted we decided on what to eat. All decided and off we go to order only to be told there are no chicken fillets which then ruled out quite a few meal options. The food selected when delivered was very tasty and enjoyable. 2...

We enjoyed a lovely meal here, it wasn't too busy and the staff were very attentive in particular Luke who was polite and friendly, we didn't have to wait too long for our meals and they were delicious, I will definitely return.

Was welcomed by a lovely setting and live music which was brilliant. (a little loud for a sunday afternoon, but never the less a very good set.)

Called here today intending to have food and ended only having a quick drink and leaving. Seats were badly stained and place looked tired and could do with some tlc.

We live nearly 2 hours away and would have needed to order our food when we left to go to Cardiff bay to have it at a normal time! We ordered and was told food was a half an hour wait. My nephew had already eaten so I ordered him an Child's ice cream and asked if it could arrive as soon as possible and he is only 2 and it was 4:00pm so he was getting tired as it had been a long journey for him. At 5:30pm we received our food - which was cold and the chips were over cooked and the peas were rock solid both were inedible! At 6:30pm we still hadn't received our ice cream puddings! By which time the 2 year old wanted to get ready to sleep. I asked for a refund - they gave me the money with a 'sorry about that' comment. Then as we were leaving a woman came out with the ice creams asking if they were for us - we had been waiting nearly 3 hours for ice cream! Do no go to this place unless you want to wait hours for cold food and no desert!

Para la mía y mi aniversario socios decidimos ir a la bahía de Cardiff y el restaurante cogimos nuestro ojo. Fuimos y encontramos nuestros asientos procedieron a encontrar lo que queríamos (salmón grillado y el jamón huevos y patatas fritas), así que grande de pedir y volvimos a nuestros asientos. Después de esperar unos 45 minutos para la comida para salir la orden había sido colocado mal dejando los huevos fuera del huevo jamón y patatas fritas. La comida que no llega era sosa, seca o quemada. Entonces esperamos para nuestros pasteles como nos habían ordenado como parte de una oferta, luego tuvimos que esperar más de 20 minutos para la tarta? Teniendo en cuenta que era tarde de un domingo por la tarde, así que no tengo ni idea de lo malo que sería ocupado. Las camareras vimos a nuestros platos y siguió a pie terminado pasado en muchas ocasiones.

Nos reunimos con amigos para almorzar y decidimos comer aquí como lo anuncian 2 campos por £9. 99. La cena era la carne especial o podías elegir los favoritos pub y tienen un entrante o postre. Mi marido y yo tuvimos la cena de carne de mi carne donde era bueno, mi marido era muy sinewy así no es tan bueno y el acompañamiento de verduras muy normal. Nuestros amigos tenían salmón y uno apenas comido ya que estaba lleno de huesos. Los postres estaban muy bien pero sorprendentemente no les quedaba de helado de vainilla. No es un lugar que volveré a disfrutar de una comida.

Picked this restaurant out of all restaurants in the quays due to 2 courses for £9.99. Wasn't expecting fine cuisine but did get good pub grub.The salmon, the sausage and mash (without gravy) and the ham, egg and chips were all good sized portions and therefore good value. The puddings were fabulous (see the pics). The chocolate fudge cake was huge, much to the delight of my son.The BOGOF on cocktails was a great bonus.The restaurant was clean and tidy and the staff seem really friendly. They even went out of their way to assist a member of the public who took a turn for the worse outside the premises.Overall - will visit again next time we are in Cardiff

Lively bar and having eaten there previously we were happy to revisit. We were easily able to find a table. We ordered drinks and the meal deal "2 courses for £9.99"We both had king prawn cocktail.We had limp lettuce, a few prawns, dry bread and the minutest amount of Marie Rose sauce I have ever seen in my life. Served on a large plate - it wasn't very appetising.We must have waited 20 minutes between courses. The Taverner's chicken was small - about the size of a sausage and dry. I do wonder if no care was taken as we had ordered a meal deal. I would have been really gutted if I had paid full price for both courses as neither were worth the money.Unfortunately we were on a tight schedule so didn't have time to wait to complain. The plus points: the peas were cooked to perfection and the Pinot Grigio was lovely and refreshing. I would visit again but only for a drink and I would look at the food coming out to see if there were any improvements.

I was surprised when we entered the pub that it was very quiet. We ordered 6 meals, they came at different times. My daughter ordered the ham, chips and eggs - chips were cold, the ham was plastic and the eggs looked liked overcooked pancakes. I had a jacket potato with cheese and salad. There was hardly any cheese and the salad looked a bit wilted. My son had beefburger and chips - the bun was a bit pale looking, the chips was cold and the only garnish with the beefburger was a thin slice of cucumber and a thin slice of tomato. He took the meal back and was refunded. Like my son said he could have cooked a better meal at home.

After reading some reviews I was a bit apprehensive but I needn't have worried. We had an amazing night! 14 of us in a pre-reserved area, with pre-ordered food and drink and all went perfectly to plan! Food was really really nice, 13 of us eating and not one single negative comment. The two ladies who I dealt with were super helpful and couldn't do enough. We are already looking at going again in September to repeat the experience :) Thank you for making it such a brilliant, unforgettable night! X

Called in during the international food and drink festival for a meal.It was very busy due to what was going on outside so seating my was very limited but have to say the food came out very quickly.Although I paid for sweet potato fries I got normal but it was resolved very quickly and considering how busy it was they serve the food in no time.I would visit again

Visiting Cardiff on business and went to Salt on the Saturday night before dinner. Walked in and walked straight out again. It looked like some chimps had had a party. Food and drink all over the floor. Yuk!

Thought this was a really solid great pub grub kind of place.We ordered burger, Indian taster plate and hunter's chicken. All came very quickly and were very nice.All this on a busy Saturday evening, so well done I'd say!

been here twice now. lovely location and building,on the down side i do find that the service here can sometimes be slow. on the up side....lovely cocktails.
