Starbucks - Cardiff Gate in Cardiff

One of our regular coffee stops but since the makeover it's absolutely freezing! Please turn the aircon down!

Very small outlet, bacon bap very poor quality for the high price of £3.95… very small and thin bacon with no butter or sauce in the bread bun 🙁

Stopped for a short break on our way to our half term holiday. Staff were attentive, drinks nice & hot. Perfect latte made by Chloe.

Cardiff Gate services is not a great service area, so Starbucks gets busy with only a Costa to Go machine or KFC to compete with. As such not a prime example of a well run Starbucks. Looking tired, a little shabby and dirty, but usual selection of Starbucks coffees, teas and eats. The best of a bad lot

Slow service as staff shortage at shift change, part of the bottom of my croissant was missing, not asked if I wanted a plate, no knives to cut it. I expected better especially as the company is making lots of savings by avoiding tax.

Stopped here for lunch and had a toasted sandwich which was so hot it had lost all its taste, and a chocolate brownie which came out of the fridge stale and melting. Avoid!

It's a Starbucks near the motorway. Good for coffee/tea/hot chocolate... Hot drinks. It does the job, especially when your on the road. Good staff.

Flat white with the boss planning our next sales quarter, great coffee and free wifi and lots of power sockets for laptops makes for happy traveling sales people

I've stopped here before on my way to Swansea for Breakfast and it alright. On this occasion I had a latte and breakfast roll. The service was friendly and the guy behind the till talked at length to me about the Starbucks app. Maybe he was on commission but probably not. If you've got an electric car you can charge it here but there is only one pump which was being used when I arrived.

How this place is allowed to operate I don't know. Went with my elderly mother who uses a walker and because of the big heavy doors was unable to get inside. We sat outside, but when I had to come out of the cafe with my two buckets of coffee, I had to put one cup on the floor just to be able to manage the door with the other hand. So you can forget taking a pushchair in unless someone happens to come to your rescue. Service shoddy and tables unclean.

I understand its located in the services but the prices are far higher than its other locations. Other premises on sight i.e. Burger King and KFC are all priced the same as their other stores. I was also unable to pay using my reward as they don't accept it here.

Firstly, the staff in this place are so rude is unbelievable they're either snatching the money out of your hands or stood behind the counter quite clearly talking rudely about the customers, they give dirty looks and sometimes actually laugh about people who they have served. the place is also usually a mess, mugs and cups left on tables for ages and usually you have to move them somewhere else to even be seated; the staff also sometimes ignore the fact you say you're drinking inside the coffee shop and stick your drink in a going out cup and then are very rude when you point it out to them. One of the worst places I've ever been to for customer service and quite honestly shocking for a Starbucks.

4 staff on duty and the place was needing a sweep! The coffee was very bitter and awful, my Americano was missing it's crema! I can make better at home.

I had the mis pleasure to call into this branch on Tuesday.....there were cups all over the tables they were covered in sugar bits of food under the tables and seats and marks on the seating from spilt drinks, it was cold and a very unpleasant place....never again

There is nothing about starbucks to make you want to revisit.It is noisy,cramped (admittedly it was pre Christmas rush) and the queues seem to go on forever.It would help if the tables were cleared when people had left them as it can be unpleasant sitting amongst other peoples leftovers.

Apart from not taking Starbucks cards the service was lower than I expect from a regular Starbucks. An acceptable place if you are in real need of a coffee but if you can travel to one of the non-motorway Starbucks you'll get a better cup.

I guess with a brand like Starbucks, you expect them all to be pretty much the same. Well, the Cardiff Gate Starbucks stands out from most others, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.
