Morrison's Cafeteria in Isle of Anglesey

Terrible service and mediocre - tasteless food. The waitress serving us had zero customer service skills, so not sure why she was front of house. I understand everybody has a bad day but this is the second time we've experienced this here. Bad service reflects on the brand. Won't waste my money there again.

We go to Morrisons once a week for our big shop. Always call in for breakfast to set us up for the day. Food always hot, good portions and great value. There is never any staff manning the till, but that is because they are busy in the kitchen. Also, there is never enough staff to cope with a busy cafe, but they still do a good job.

customer service is non-existent and found hair in my daughters food. Don’t bother! Think you’ll find more customer service skills in a prison

Till not working and only accepting cards and not cash and no one there to take a card after I’d already made 2 coffees, was then told I had to go to the back of the que with my coffees and order and pay for the coffee I had in my hand, tables not cleaned and the elderly walking around totally confused, after sitting at the table it had a small sticker on the end where I could scan to bring up the menu, if I had a smart phone I could have done that as well, total shambles I will not be going there again

all in all not a bad breakfast, warm food, warm plates,only gripe is that the cafe was freezing, coffee wasnt very nice and the mugs for the coffee had rings in all the mugs that i could see.

Quick efficient service, we were a party around 30 people (delayed ferry)….and we could not fault the service, friendly staff!! Food was lovely and served in good time! Diolch! :)

Cold jacket potatoes. Overcooked sausages (kids meal). Fish fingers...out of stock! Dirty plates and cutlery. Won't be going there again!

The Mrs fancied breakfast so she has seen a offer for 2 breakfasts and 2 teas for £10 so we thought ideal we will go to morrisons, On arrival there were NO staff on the manned till or anywhere to bee seen , So the only option was to use the self service order thing ( god knows what would of happened to people wanting to pay with cash) so we put 2 of the breakfast through with 2 teas but the self order till kept say £15 ? Even though there is a massive poster located next to it saying the deal was on ! Anyway there was a que of people behind so we thought we would wait by the maned till for someone to take our order…… 10mins went passed and still no staff came ! So by this time the people who were using the self ordering service had gone so we tried again and no luck , We left and went over the road to TESCO no problems there and breakfast was spot on ! All i can say is if your thinking of going here dont ! Awful self service and no staff about 0/5

Really fancied Yorkshire pudding wrap but they didn't have any, so asked for a burger to be told that the burger machine wasn't working. Finally asked for a chicken burger and got 1 each . Mine was still frozen in the middle and my friends had brown stuff come out of hers. Couple sat opposite us had fish and when they cut into it , it stank the fish had gone off. We also saw a man receive a bacon bap which had mould on the bap . The cafe is absolutely disgusting and the staff weren't much better. Will never go again 😡🤢🤮

Lovely cafe , nice breakie , the coffee machines were not working , we were informed they haven’t been working for a month !! But you can buy a coffee from a dispenser at the entrance to the store. Always a popular cafe but they need to sort out the coffee machines .

We call at this Morrisons once a week for our breakfast before doing our main shop. The staff are always friendly and helpful even though they could do with more assistance. My only gripe is the coffee machine needs mending or replacing.

Visited on a very busy day but the food came relatively quickly considering the number of staff on duty. Even though the staff were inundated they didn't fail to give 100% service, going abo e and beyond. We were struggling to get to our seats with bags and a walking aid so the staff member offered to carry our tray to the table. Only a small thing but was greatly appreciated.

Very poor. No plates for cakes on self service counter. No coffee machines available and uht milk for the tea. Dirty tables and long queues. Not impressed although the poor lady on the till was doing her best. Big difference to Tesco cafe which is run better

Second visit for breakfast this summer, both time's the food was barely warm and served on cold plates, we should have learnt from the first visit but decided to give them a second chance as I have had a nice breakfasts at other Morrisons, ended up leaving the majority of the food. Will never eat at this store again.

2 staff taking order clearing tables run off their feet not good enough obviously another staff needed .sort it out .tbf the two staff under pressure kept calm .lots of tables filled with dishes etc for clearing.

Went on sat and meals were cold. Not many chips and they were cold, mash potatoes were cold, pie not cooked properly. Thought we would give them another chance and went on Sunday for late breakfast. Arrived at 12.30pm and were very abruptly told “we close at 12 on Saturday”! No where does it say either before entering store or before entering cafe.

We have started going to Morrisons for our breakfast prior to doing our weekly shop.Everything has been fine up till today when our usual treat was somewhat spoiled.Whilst we were waiting for our meals a morrisons colleague was sweeping the floor.This is not acceptable, as I think the floor should have been swept before the opening of the cafe. Tables were not being wiped when cleared and the cafe was generally untidy. This is such a shame as I think the kitchen staff work hard but I think the cafe manager needs to be around a little bit more to notice these things.

Terrible service, waited half an hour before asking where our breakfast was to be told there was a delay. No apology whatsoever. A further 20 minutes later I had to request a refund. Will not be going here again, even the store has started to go downhill! Next time I'll go to tesco 50 minute wait for a breakfast that you don't even get is not acceptable.

Staying nearby so thought we would try breakfast so glad we did . There was a good choice of healthy and cooked breakfast and service was very good. Area was clean and guidelines adhered to

Both my wife and I have lunch in Morrison’s quite regularly, and today Wednesday 23/6 was no exception, however we observed a couple in front of us not wearing a face mask, indeed when we got to our table there were five adults walking around not wearing any face coverings. They were all adults and looked like they were visitors to Anglsey. They were not displaying any exempt badges. They were not challenged by anyone. The on duty security officer walked passed them when they were walking towards the restaurant, saw them yet did not take any action which is a clear breach of his duties as he and Morrison’s have a duty of care to there shoppers to ensure everyone’s safety during this pandemic. Come on Morrison’s pull your finger out and look after your customers.

I wrote on here 5yrs ago,but things are still the same,a queue of people waiting to be served,1 girl serving,tables are full of dirty plates,ketchup all over our table,we had to ask twice before they did anything,we counted 5 tables had not been cleared,so people had to wait until their table was cleared before they sat down,the girl at the till was doing 2 or 3 jobs at a time,poor girl,she was serving people at the till,serving them with food and trying to clear the tables,why why why dont they just get help instead of just giving loads of jobs to one girl,its disgusting,i ordered coffee and by the time i got to the table it had gone cold,so i think next time you order hot drinks,order first then get the drinks,you never know how long you will be waiting if you have a queue in front of you.

Called in for Breakfast. Service very very good. Fried bread could do with some attention but the overall breakfast was very enjoyable.

I’ve come here a few times with my niece and the staff are always friendly. The place is always clean.

I visited the store today to get some shopping and I was quite confused as there was yellow hazard tape blocking the self service check out so instead, I opted for one of the normal checkouts. A member of staff managing checkots then repeatedly told me to 'go that way' and ushered me to go around an aisle and go to the self service. I didn't think she was talking to me at first because of her rude tone. I am happy to comply with covid restrictions but I do expect to be addressed as a customer in a non aggressive manner.

We always have a breakfast at Holyhead store before we do our week's shopping.Usually the service is good and quick, food always tasty. Today could not have been more different. I stood near till and selected two pots of tea and waited for the member of staff to come out and serve me. I waited and waited until my husband, who by now was on the point of walking out, called into the kitchen for a staff member. He finally came out and I ordered my food. We waited twenty minutes for our food and when it came my husband's breakfast looked like it had been thrown on the plate. My food was okay. At no time did we see any tables being wiped for further customers. We will try again next week to see if the standards of service have improved. Otherwise Tesco here we come!

On a busy weekend lunchtime I came here to try their Christmas 3 course lunch. On previous visits during the same time of year, the service hasn't been too good but this time it was better. It doesn't help that the staff are overwhelmed during peak periods. The food was excellent all round and you do get a massive amount on the plate so if you have a big appetite you'll be well satisfied here. I felt you couldn't go wrong with the price paid for a Christmas lunch and it represented excellent value.

Visited yo eat twice on recent trip to Holyhead and couldn't believe the difference in 24 hours! First experience on a Sunday was 100%! Fast service and well cooked hot food . Second visit on a Monday - oh dear. Slow service, cold greasy and just cooked food left is both feeling I'll for the rest of the day. Very strange how different set of staff can change your opinion - we wont be back!

Usual Morrisons type restaurant serving the usual fare at reasonable prices.It is very useful as a shopping experience as it gives the opportunity to stock up with petrol and drink at very favourable prices. This is very useful as prices are much higher in Ireland.

We go mostly for the breakfasts and are never disappointed. The offers they have for dinner for 2 adults and 2 children are amazing value.

We only went in for a little breakfast but the scrambled egg on toast and the fried egg on toast were very well presented an enjoyed !!!

as per a previous readers comment. called in on a sunday morning but uncomfortable with loud music. difficulty talking. but the main thing was that with sandwiches we had to send them back. One side of the sandwich was the thick crust off a cheaper low value loaf. When we got a replacement the new one was the same. But 3rd time sort of lucky. This is not good enough.

I would just like to comment on my visit to your store today. I was accompanied by a friend who wanted to use her stamps she had been saving all year. I suggested we have a trip to Holyhead even though we are on the other side of the island!! We were in the store and restaurant most of the afternoon. Thank you for our lovely mince pie delicious . (Ended up buying some of them). The staff were polite and helpful. The ambience was pleasant. Thanks Morrisons. Great customer service

Hi I visited the cafe in Morrison’s at Holyhead today, the visit started well, order placed, the lady at the order point was extremely helpful when I asked her about the Cajun vegetable burger. The children’s food came very quickly and I was impressed, this is where the visit started to go downhill!! The Cajun vegetable burger arrived looking like what I can only describe as charcoal, when I took it back and explained that it was burnt, the kitchen attendant looked at me as if to say “so what” but reluctantly called someone over who said he would replace it. The first kitchen assistant said it would be no better as it was cooked from frozen-I do not understand this concept as many foods are cooked from frozen but aren’t required to be served burnt! Anyway I persevered to give them the benefit of the doubt. After 15mins (which seemed reasonable)the second burger came out, see the picture attached - needless to say I did not eat it and left without any further discussion as based on the first discussion there seemed little point.

It's a nise cafe but staff don't know the menu very well and don't know the meals but deals are good.

Ordered eggs benedict for wife and self only to be told that they had no eggs left. I then opted for two bacon toasted sandwiches instead - no surprise here on being told that they had run out of bacon as well, and this in a large branch of a leading supermarket!!!

Sunday morning Called here for food again, Couldnt have a conversation because the music is so loud .... annoying!!!!

Quick stop off for breakfast before hitting the ferry to Dublin. Our usual cafe has closed so over to trusty TripAdvisor to find a suitable alternative. Good old Morrisons seemed the perfect choice as we could park the car easily and not have to walk (it was raining!) And a stones throw to the ferry. Breaky menu was good. Service at the checkout came with a smile from Helen who sorted me out with my querky request. The food came quickly and was piping hot....but more importantly it was really tasty. Omlete for me and eggs Benedict for hubby. Perfect. Nice pot of tea and a lovely coffee set us up for the day.

Well there was a delay in getting our food they had to be reminded twice and when it did come it was cold and the tea cakes where like rubber. Bought it up with a staff member who then tried to argue with me it was hot, When I asked for a refund stormed off into the kitchen area and I could hear the staff member bad mouthing me. So bought it up with what I presumed was her supervisor. Infact I had to get the store manager down the customer service was that bad. WIll never use that cafe again utter waste of time it doesn't even get 5 thumbs Down.

Been here a few times. Fish and chips is excellent have it all the time, unless I go early I have the full English breakfast which is seconds to none. Would like to say I do miss the waiter joe there.

arrived at 5.00 ordered the beef & ale pie for three told non left they said they did a nice chicken & leek pie ordered that for two one bacon burger for one & fish fingers chips and beans for one sat down came back said no pie left so fish chips & peas for one & baked potatoe with prawns for one came back no prawns so had fish chips & peas. waited order came fish finger with peas burger with no bacon and guess what yep inedible thick skin on peas fish so overcooked it was solid didn't eat anything complained got our money back and went elsewhere never go again

Called in late afternoon, we both had the Lamb shanks with mash & peas. The food was very good, shame there were no fizzy drinks as the machine was u/s but otherwise it was good and the staff were good.

Called for lunch whilst shopping, It was our first visit and the cashier was particularly helpful. I had a curry,my wife had a generous portion of salmon and the children had burgers. We all enjoyed the meals and would definitely come again.

I stopped at Morrison's for breakfast after reading reviews here. I don't really understand why it has a good rating. The breakfast is in-eatable, extremely over cooked and dry. A plus is the staff are friendly.

Hooray, no more fixed table seats, the quality of food has definitely improved and the price is by far more competitive than other local eateries, don't expect anything more than a basic menu but well worth it

stopped off in the cafe after doing a tea time shop. We ordered the fish and chips. they were delived to the table nice and hot. all in all quite a nice mel for a quick stop off. I'd deffo have a meal here again.

Pregunté si no desayuno y me dijeron "todavía no", pero vamos a morrisons supermercado que no era lejos recomendado.

Siempre una gran relación calidad-precio y bien preparado. Buena selección de comidas y aperitivos. Servicio rápido. Pescado y patatas fritas una obligación.

Did a bit of shopping and decided to pop into the cafeteria for a snack as it was lunchtime. Plenty of seats, tables were clean and sandwiches were okay. The cooked food didn't look that good my friend had a hot meal and said it was very dry and had no flavour, probably been in the hot cabinets for to long and had dried the food up. Next time will just get sandwiches and avoid the hot food

Saturday morning treat while waiting for car to be washed. Service ok and cafe clean enough but the food let it down.Bacon was cheap and had no flavour and everything looked and tasted like it had been standing for hours. Cheap as chips but we'll go somewhere else next time.

It is a superstore eatery where you get what you pay for, no michelin chefs. Nice tea and coffee choice of sandwiches, wraps etc and basic fish sausage bacon egg beans peas mix with chips good cheap belly filler but nothing more

3 adults and a baby. Food cheap and cheerful. I would eat here again. Staff friendly, plenty of tables. Love the disposable paper bibs for babies!

Marvellous to be fair the quality surpassed the £5 charged for a nice fish chips and peas choice of garden or mushy and a decent brew, served by very busy staff who were polite helpful and efficient. I really enjoyed my peace and quiet, absolute bargain £5 that's right only £5

Arrived at 2.05pm looking forward to the two course Christmas Special prominently advertised at £6 per head up until 2.30pm. Admittedly, one doesn't expect much for six pounds, but to be told that they had run out of turkey "some time ago" nearly half an hour before the offer ended did not please. We recalled that last year, there was also a problem in that they had "run out" of cranberry sauce - incredible for a supermarket especially as we later purchased two jars of said sauce before we left. Dirty tables, unacceptable service, this cafe does not do Morrisons any favours. Avoid unless you are truly desperate.

you can use the morrisons cafe any time of the day. if u have the faily up and cildren who like to be able to pick there own, the prices are very good as well as the drinks, well worth dropping in if u just dont feel like going home and cooking for one.

Not sure where all these other people wriging good reviews have been eating, but my experiences of eating in Holyhead Morrisons , is like somewhere completely different , Staff rude and dismissive , of course I am 70 plus which makes me invisable I guess ! I asked for a prawn cocktail, and when it arrived , it was a baked potato with the prawn cocktail on the top, The prawn cocktail seemed to havebee heated in the microwave along with the potato, whic I did NOT ask for.... the prawns and the dressing were actually hot...tottally disgusting , I felt quite sick, I did not say anything at the time as a friend had kindly treated me to a meal.... Also I asked a girl if she could pour my drink, and she said " do it yourself ! (Exact words ) l did have a problem a few months ago as well, Morrisons you reall need to shape up ..

where ever we go we always look for a Morrisons for meals and we were not disapointed when we went to Morrisons at Holyhead, good and nicely cooked food and friendly staff well present and tasty, the only problem is the seating whith the chair stuck to the tables not good for people with diabilities

In general we're a fan of the morrison's breakfasts, and here didn't change our thoughts, it was lovely as always and the staff were very polite. Can't fault it really, for a supermarket cafe it's probably the best.

Very good cafe. Clean and set away from general shopping area so a pleasant experience. Will definitely go again.

Visited for Breakfast everything was great. Nice prices and excellent service, ideal as you can do your Grocery shop in the attached spacious Supermarket and enjoy a meal or just a cuppa.

This is a very smart, spacious new supermarket and it's cafe is equally impressive. Pretty basic choice but great value, good service and the food is faultless.

The food here is SO good and it's cheap too! The butter on the toast is lovely - I asked once which one it was from the store but they said it was bought from outside the branch and isn't sold in store which was a bit strange I thought) the all day breakfast is a must and of course the Chicken Tikka - I'm literally obsessed even though I know it's just microwaved ha!BUTI'll be honest - the staff are very unclean and would probably (definitely) not pass food hygiene standards...

Good for quick dining at a budget cost. Some errors with the service but will return to use the place if in a hurry while shopping.

If you fancy a quick lunch before shopping this is spot on. Good value for money and a fast service. I would use this again for sure.

Had several meals here, but upon arrival at the table, food warm or cold.I did complain ,but not much interest taken.

Even though i love this cafeteria,they should have more than one person to serve the customers and to deliver the food to tables,every time i go there,there is nobody at the till and a few customers behind me waiting to be served,other people have hot drinks and they have had to wait a while to be served,then when they get to the table their drinks are warm,so back to the till to complain then they fill up again,dont get me wrong the food is excellent and the portions are very good,but please morrisons get some more staff.

This restaurant is half the price of a Little Chef and is twice as good. Fresh coffee and orange juice with a rather nice cooked breakfast. Well done.

Went to morrisons for a small fish and chips, the fish was a good piece but you got about 5 chips and half a teaspoon worth of mushy peas.. I also paid 60p extra for curry sauce which didn't even last half way through eating it.... Overall the meal was nice but wasn't worth the price I got this meal because it was under 600 calories, when the waiter brought to me there was a reason why!!!

Looking for a place to eat after going shopping eating at Morrison's is well worth it especially the Fish and Chips, comes straight out of the kitchen nice and hot, the batter is crispy the fish is devine.

Fantastic fish and chips , staff friendly great value , the lasagne was also great , definately a place to visit

Decent size and food acceptable at fair prices.Good Store.Only negative was the Toilets were poor.

The staff are great and friendly. Our breakfasts were hot and arrived very quickly. The restaurant itself is also plea sent to be in as they've resisted the urge to try and cram in too many tables.

Don't expect five star service! It is a cafeteria and the food is good and great value for money. My hubby says the fish and chips are excellent!

Visited here a couple of times, giving the benefit of the doubt as it had been busy, decided to try it again. It was just an awful experience. Ordered breakfast for myself and my partner. Sat at a table and waited. And waited. And waited. After 30 minutes I went to ask if there was a problem. To be greeted by a young girl who didn't have the foggiest idea. When food eventually came out, half of it was wrong. There was no hash browns and I'd requested mine with no mushrooms. I asked the waiter why the breakfast was incorrect, he went to call the cafe manager. She came storming out shouting 'what's your problem' as I explained my complaint, she replied with 'yeh well we ran outta hash browns yeh' to which I asked why we weren't notified. She just huffed and walked away. I told the young girl at the till I wanted a refund,as the plate was incomplete and I had no intentions of eating it with mushrooms on the plate. Again the manager was called out. She refused point blank to give a refund. So we left, without food, and £15 out of pocket. This place really need to give their staff some lessons in manners and customer service. Will not be visiting here again

Always great value fish and chips, hot, fresh and delicious. Great natural light at this Morrison's. The only complaint being no mushy peas, sold out!

Went for breakfast two mornings whilst on Holiday. Good food, well priced with efficient service. What more can you ask for. And once you've eaten you can pick up your sarnies for lunch.

The food is just what you would cook at home for a reasonable price which is just what you want when you want a decent meal without it costing too much money. Sometimes the queue to place your order can be long but it is to be expected in a supermarket.

THE most disgusting meal I ever had - ate a belly pork dish which was microwaved or boiled - could not tell - it was ready in about 3.5 minutes.

Whilst acknowledging morrisons are the or one of the best of the superstore cafes,this one isn"t.Order point to kitchen-loss of communication. Pay till,.Where is she? answer-doing other things. Tea pot has gone cool.Ordered two turkey main courses,.-Only got the first one.which turned up nearly cold.Sent it back for reheating. I tried it but no,no,no. Had half of it and gave the other half to my wife who was still waiting for hers Food not palatable. The turkey was never a turkey.It was reconstituted meat compressed into a roll and then sliced up like sandwich luncheon meat. Cancelled the missing meal,took my money back for it and walked out. This was not the real morrisons we have got to know.

Popular cafe which would explain our difficulty sometimes in getting a table and/or a clean one. Staff are slow in clearing away dirty dishes etc. But the food is always served hot, fairly quickly, and there is a good variety on the menu. Staff are pleasant.

Quick Service eating area fairly clean the staff could have bee a little more welcoming but he it is Holyhead.

This was a quick visit did our shopping then snack before we moved off, It was quiet one member of staff covering but disappeared twice. Cake was fine as was coffee would use again.

Love the salmon sandwiches. As I'm not a big eater, I can have the children's meals - more than ample.

We always have fish & chips here very tasty well worth the money..kids eat free on school nights. Also free cup,of tea with main meals. Great service every time from waitress. Keep up,the great customer service

Lovely breakfast choice with cereals, fruit and the usual full english. Really well priced. Cafe was clean and not too busy. We were served very quickly.

Had a nice meal in Morrisons, Holyhead, yesterday.Hubbie had the beef burger and I had the vegetarian chilli with rice and salad plus 2 pots of tea. Good portions and nice and hot. Because it had gone 4pm only cost £10.20. Staff were very pleasant as well.Many thanks.

Visited this cafe as me and my boyfriend wanted a quick meal before we set off on a 350 mile journey back home to Kent, but it definitely wasn't quick. The place was filthy and all of the chairs were full of crumbs and old food, do they never hoover them? We waited at the till for the lady to arrive, and when she did she didn't even ask 'What would you like?' or anything of the sort, she just looked at us, so we made our and order and she actually SAID something, but it was just the price we had to pay for the food. I've never seen anything like it in my life! We then waited around half an hour for our food, which personally I felt was too long, as our local Morisson's cafe serve food quickly and efficiently with much better customer service. Never again.

For a supermarket the standard of food is very good, pleasant staff maybe a little slow at the till , but on the whole, the times my wife and I have been I can truly say well done to all at Holyhead .

Ate here twice during my stay in Holyhead and both times the food was very good and very reasonably priced.The service was also very good with very polite staff and food coming promptly.

Dear me, this was an almost surreal experience. We went for breakfast ahead of what turned out to be a fairly grim shopping experience, but that's by the by. It is not at all clear how one goes about being served in this place and don't expect the staff to help you. We stood by a till that looked like it might be promising as it has a sign saying something like 'order food at the till'. White we were there at least here members of staff just surveyed us, completely ignoring us or offering assistance. When we asked, we were grudgingly pointed to the correct till. The place was by no means full but service was slow. The food was passable and all that one would expect in a budget café. The rest left a lot to be desired though. Some training required, perhaps?

Normally a good place for a quick meal, but at times long delays in service, and food can be chilled or cold on delivery.

Popped in for a coffee and a bite to eat while shopping over the weekend 4th January, I had a BLT sandwich (but very little bacon in it, it was more lettuce and tomato!!) my partner had spinach and ricotta cannelloni which was hot and not a bad size potion.. Ok just to get pass the hunger pains but that's it.

Clean, well run, and you know what you are going to get - I hate cold bacon, but unlike other similar establishments, I have yet to experience this here!

Would not touch this place with a barge pole, coffee is always cold the foods shocking and you have to pay for mayonnaise.

This place is not hit and Miss. Give it a miss at all costs. The food us so substandard. The fish us certainly not served crisp by any stretch of the imagination as states on menu. It's pale and inedible and food is Luke warm. The liver and onions tastes like it's cooked from frozen as do most of the food. Mashed potatoes taste as if out of a packet or lumpy. It's a hyper supermarket on the edge of Holyhead just off the A55.It's the same as every Morrison's that you have been to , Tescos is close by so you may find a bargain but its your choice where you shop .And Morrison's in Holyhead Is a big Shop ......full of food .End of review .
