Stood waiting a good 10 minutes whilst staff watched one member serving one customer before me. Coffee drinks ordered to drink inside, no saucers or teaspoons provided, just takeaway wooden stirrers, not very jolly service!

This place was a lucky find, lovely atmosphere and staff. The drinks were excellent, but the bacon rolls were superb. The buns were very fresh and tasty Nd the bacon was the best I have tasted in a very long time. There is a huge selection of things to eat and drink; I didn't try them all, but they all looked amazing. I recommend this place highly. Thankyou to the girls who made our visit so enjoyable.

Stopped in for a coffee yesterday. Very pleasant and spacious cafe but a little confusing. Young girl behind the counter told us to take a seat and someone will be with us to take our order, she then went into the kitchen. We waited a few minutes and, when no one came, went up to the counter and gave our order to someone else. Had a bit of a wait too for it to arrive. Quite a few tables around us were untidy from previous diners which hampered several newcomers looking for a place to sit. Heard one staff member having to instruct another to clear tables. I get this happens when people are busy, but this was a very quiet, very wet, Sunday afternoon. Couldn't fault the coffee when it arrived and, though we didn't have any cake, we saw other patrons have very nice and generous looking portions. Toilets downstairs in what looks like a former bank vault. Quirky bit of history.

This was a bit of a letdown. I came in after they had just shut the side room, and as I approached it, there were no signs, I was ordered, rather abruptly, that the area was now closed and to sit elsewhere. I really wanted a table to write a letter, but there were none unoccupied, I'd paid for my coffee on entry, so I sat in a very comfortable leather armchair, which was too low to write at the table. In mitigation, the lady was having staffing issues and was trying to speak to someone on the phone, so, in my mind, just a forgivable bad moment. However, the real problem was the dogs. I was the only non-dog owner at that time. Most people had two dogs. One had four! All yapping terriers or sausage dogs. Then the whining, yapping, and barking began in earnest. They sounded like a flock of seagulls. It continued for ten minutes before I left, drinking my very nice £3.5 coffee in one gulp. Those dogs should be thrown in the sea, and their inconsiderate owners straight after them.

Okay, definitely not particularly nice, or 'Jolly'. 2 pieces of cake arrived separately and some time after the drinks. £5.25 for kids milkshake ridiculously overpriced considering the small frothy drink that arrived. Coffee nice but on the small side. Scone soft and pappy, similar to something you buy from a supermarket in a packet. Worst of all only 1 other customer in but most tables were covered in dirty cups and plates and crumbs despite numerous staff working - no interest in keeping place clean - not a single table was wiped clean in the 30 minutes we were there. Maybe caught you on a bad day as most reviews are positive; sorry to leave such a negative review but highly disappointed 😞

The whole experience was bad told to sit down and someone would come and take our order. So we did that and waited, waited and waited. Others came in after us and they also waited and waited. When the waitress arrived she took everyone's order and disappeared . So as you guessed we all carried on waiting and you guessed it waiting. When the drinks and food arrived the capachino was luke warm and my husbands meal which was a Scotch Egg that looked lovely but when he tried to cut it it was stone cold and hard and the coating was dry and thick. We informed the waitress and he was given another one which was warm but unedibl so my husband ended up walking out and I was left to eat alone (my meal was OK) It ruined our day out together and although staff were apologetic continued to charge full price for my meal and drinks. Not good enough Jollys the place was in chaos we will not be visiting again . Quite a few unhappy customers there today. P.S the views were lovely x

This was one of the very worst places I have ever visited. It was very busy so we were sure it would be alright. We ordered one Scotch Egg with salad, and one Pork pie with salad and two large Americanos. The plan was to half the savoury items and share them between us. We waited quite a while, and then served the above. The Scotch egg was old, tough and you could not get your knife into it. We ate the egg from the middle whilst my husband brave,y battled to extract some meat from the tough outer. Abandoning this we cut the pork pie in half, to discover grey pastry and a small piece of pork, which unfortunately my husband ate. The salad was obviously old as the leaves had gone soggy and tasted foul. We fiddled about with this before drinking our coffee and returning the plates to the server. Whereas the server was not outwardly rude, she did say we should have returned the food immediately and that we had “eaten some of it”! I accepted this was the case , and asked her not to serve anyone else with this stale food. They refused to take the goods from sale. My conclusion is that this place should have its food inspected asap, and also that the staff take some training in customer service. Yes we are not regulars, but they are taking advantage of visitors to Beaumaris whom they hope never to see again by serving downright inedible food.

They were told to sit and wait for service, but rebelled after waiting some time and went to the counter to order, then came back to sit down. Waited patiently some more, still no service. This was when I was first acknowledged as I was asked to move out of the way. I returned to the entrance and waited again. The decor looked nice and the food looked ok but the general approach by the staff didn't suggest that they were interested in customer experience. We left without any attempt by staff to seat or even acknowledge we were there. We walked 2 minutes to the Pier House and were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by friendly welcoming staff. Amazing what the simple things do in terms of giving customers a great experience. I will definitely be giving Jollys a miss in future. Hopefully the owner will invest in customer service training.

A few moments of bewilderment wondering where it came from and I shouted back my response. Only a small thing really but it does not create the right ambience. Truly awful. About 12:30 we popped in looking for tea and sandwiches. We waited to be seated as per the sign at the door. Eventually someone came to see us and directed us to a dark corner in another room. We asked if there was anywhere with some light to which we were directed although it seemed reluctantly. After waiting 20 minutes we flagged a passing waitress to say we wanted to order. She came back once she had found her notepad. We ordered from the menu but asked what was in the paninis. She had to go and ask. No fillings available that were palatable for us. Asked what sandwiches were available, only cheese and ham which was okay for my wife. I asked for the large sausage roll and salad as per the menu. Off she went again to ask and came back to say no sausage roll but they could do a sausage bap. Sadly this once excellent coffee shop is somewhere we wouldn't choose to visit again. We were surprised to find it almost empty on a very busy bank holiday weekend, which should have warned us. The greeting on waiting to be seated was offhand and unfriendly as the staff of four were more interested in looking at their phones and noisily discussing their social lives. Attempting to get away from the noise we sat at a table by the window and waited. And waited. And waited. The racket continued, nobody came for our order. It was impossible to have a conversation above the row. So we gave up and walked out. What a shame to see the deterioration. To get this place back on an even keel needs a complete reset, starting with making it clear to the staff where good manners, diligence and a work ethic is required. The customer should not be treated as an unwelcome intrusion. We cannot comment on the quality of the food and drink. The location is perfect but wasted in the present situation.

There was a choice of reg or tall - £3.85. The coffees arrived in what we considered normal size cups, but we were assured these were tall? There was no ‘crema’ on them and they didn’t taste that great. For £3.85 for a black coffee I would expect great flavour. We also ordered cake which was nice and appeared home made. Be aware the toilets are down quite steep stairs, and the whole area leading to them could do with a good clean. The ladies toilet wasn’t great- the seat was practically hanging off and again needed a good clean. For the prices charged we would expect clean and nicely decorated facilities. Sorry even though the cake was good, coffee (the main thing) let it down.

Great place just opposite the light house and Puffin island. Loads of little items for sale bought some cards Phil the owner kindly gave me a little pot of gin and tonic marmalade to try. Full of colourful character well worth a visit just for their HOT CHOCOLATE.

My husband & I visited Jollys for a snack. On entering the cafe, you are told to' Wait to be seated'. No one acknowledged us for a several minutes. Then a young girl led us to a table. We waited for several minutes for her to return to take our order. We then waited about 20 minutes for our order to arrive - nothing complicated, just a scone & a drink. People who came in after us were served before us. Indeed, a couple of waitresses came to ask us if our order had been taken. We have been to Jollys a couple of times before, & it is always unfriendly service & quite disorganised, despite having quite a few staff on. We will definitely not be returning again.

Very poor service, waited a long time for our food which never arrived. Got charged for the food and when I said it had not arrived, so I am not paying for it, was told I should have reminded them!

Nice Coffee House makes a change to have a proper tasty cup through the machine rather than bean to cup as in other places

Staff were very disorganised. We waited 20 minutes before our order was taken then another 20 for it to arrive. Coffee was nice but sausage rolls had been microwaved so were soggy. In extreme need of a makeover, extremely tatty especially the toilets which were not pleasant.

Really terrific place with a very happy and hilarious staff who are just as jolly as the establishment’s name suggests. Excellent service, good strong tea, great food and we just couldn’t fault it. Marvellous views at the back too. Smashing place.

Recently visited Jolly’s whilst visiting the island …… Decided on the egg sandwiches as there was hardly any choice, other was cheese and Brandon in the fridge counter! Also had cappuccinos…the coffees were ok but one cup was cracked on the outside. The cheese sandwich was mouldy on the bread with fur and green mould spots , the bread was very dry. A replacement sandwich was given but it had ruined the experience because this should not of happened , who serves mouldy bread? Best still not to notice it? Sadly would not visit this coffee house again and the dogs inside a food place is a little off putting..🤨🤨

Stopped for a wander on an impromptu day out. Warm welcome on arrival and our orders were taken quickly. Very impressed with a Gluten Free cake option as they can be hard to come across. Lovely coffee and tasty cakes. Will return if we're in...

Called in for a light lunch as it is my partners’ birthday. Had the seafood platter to share. We were told no taramasalata available and they replaced it with mackerel pate which was lovely. However one of the main components of the platter was a mix of ?prawns/ crayfish and crab I think it was. It tasted odd and smelt bad like old socks. I thought it was my imagination to begin with until my partner said don’t eat any more I think it’s off.. it was also a strange colour. The smell was quite strong. We ate everything else. We told the waitress when she came to collect the plates and said she would tell the chef. We went to the till to pay ( half expecting the chef would have come out to apologise, but he didn’t). The waitress said sorry for that and charged us the full amount ( approx £35 for the platter and two lattes). Very disappointing and I’m afraid we will never call again ( we are also fairly local).

Last time we had fish & chips from here they were very nice but unfortunately tonight's were awful! The fish wasn't too bad but the cone of chips was diabolical, they looked like reheated leftovers & a very small portion indeed. Not good enough considering the price, I was very disappointed!

Visited on Saturday 3rd June 2023. First visit and very happy. Nice pub with great views if you sit outside, delicious food and helpful, friendly staff. Truffled rarebit on toast and Fish Finger bun (home made Fish Fingers) both amazing. Will absolutely eat here again.
