Don't be fooled by references to "Restaurant" on their own web site and elsewhere. They no longer have one. Fortunately I discovered this when I phoned to book a table and was able to cancel my Expedia booking to get a refund on the room.

We stayed for one night in a double room. Room was clean and tidy with a few toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel is nicely situated with a lovely view. Had a lovely relaxing afternoon in the bar. Evening meal wasn't brilliant but edible. The room we had was for disabled. The hand bars were full of dust and the paint was peeling of the pipe on the radiator. The first thing you saw as you walk in is the black marks on the window frame. Needs a new blind in the bathroom. Once these are sorted it will be a much better room.

The bedroom was ok albeit a little shabby. The bathroom was grubby and had mildew around the bath, which an attempt had been made to cover up with a thin layer of fresh sealant. The bathroom floor had been swept for sometime, not nice The staff are friendly but rushed, clearly understaffed. The breakfast was pleasant enough although the grilled tomatoes were replaced with tinned which wasn’t mentioned at the time ordering. I feel this hotel is overpriced for what you get.

Stayed here yesterday 15/8/23 very rude receptionist!! Had no Internet signal in room so called the reception to let them know as i needed it for work, the guy said to go by the room door for signal. We still weren't able to get signal so i went down to the reception to ask for help, the guy just laughed at me and said "We cant have Internet everywhere all the time" when i explained they i needed it for work he continued to laugh at me, shrugged and started to walk away saying he cant do anything about it. Also there was paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling. We had tea bags that had nothing to identify what flavour they were (tasted like hay). The rooms were very dated and full of spiders. Not worth the £120 i paid for the room to be treated like less than dirt, ill definitely never stay here again !!

Nice and what appeared to be family run pub & restaurant. Ate in restaurant once and following night ate in pub as didn't want a huge meal. Although menu was the same, it was possible just to have starters in pub. On both occasions, the food was very acceptable and staff helpful & friendly. Not huge menu but big enough to offer reasonable choice.

This is a nice place it's nothing to exotic just I nice quiet pub restaurant outside of holyhead. Cost about £7/£15 depending on the time you travel into holyhead by taxi. Off road parking. Quiet area. Some nice walks can be had from here along the tidal River so be careful to check high tide before you go. The hotel it's self was nice bed was comfortable shower and toilet TV. Would stay again and would recommend. Can't comment on the food here as I didn't eat but should have as couldn't really find a lot of choice in holyhead itself.

Asked for 10 chips off my older child's meal to be put in a bowl for my baby, they charged us £4.50 for this and give it her on porcelain plates🫣 each time I've been here it's disappointing. Reserve a table and the high chair they provided was that filthy I didn't really want to put my baby in it. Definitely had never been washed. There's always something they haven't got on their menu and what they do have they always get the order wrong.

Pre booked family of four, two adults two children, food very good, service by very young staff good, £20 adult £15 children meals all charged at adult prices, £10 difference, not a big deal, £10 is not a lot to get worked up about, I didn't challenge it as I'm British and we don't, but for my £10 you get a 3* review. Food was very good though and will probably go back, I'll just take a extra tenna with me. X

If you want to sleep before midnight, forget it! Above a pub & can loudly hear peoples murmuring conversations, intermittent loudly banging doors, tv/music. Really regretted staying here as I'd booked a room to sleep before getting up early for a trackday at Anglesey Circuit. I'll know not to stay here again, extractor fan also didn't function in the bathroom. Fine if you want to stay up all night I guess. There's a separate building to the main one with the pub, so that one might be quieter. Food was average in the evening and expensive. Breakfast was excellent and included from 7am. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Tea making facilities in room were dirty and unusable. Stained mugs and mucky grimy glasses. Stunning view of inland sea was ruined by dirty window and filthy soffits. In the bathroom, toilet seat did not fit on bowl. Only few sheets of toilet paper, no spare roll. Shower controls broken at tap, shower curtain mouldy and couldn’t move rings along rail without manhandling each one. Old used bar of soap in dish. Huge dirty crack in washbasin. I could go on….

Fancy going back to the eighties? Paying fortune for microwaved food? Don't be able to sleep and shower with a corroded shower head surrounded by black mould? Visit this place!!! The food in the restaurant was worse than in a school canteen and therefore overpriced. I couldn't really eat it and wanted to go to a supermarket to get a meal deal as even a soggy Tesco sandwich would be nicer and cost a sixth of the price. The breakfast was okay and they had brown bread, so that was really nice because I wasn't expecting that, also the drinks we've ordered (beer and G&T) were served correctly and tasted as they should have. The room had one of the beds visibly leaning to one side, I've never seen such badly broken bed in my life, I don't think that they have worse even in a homeless shelter. The shower fittings were rusty, and there was black mould everywhere in the bathroom which is quite common in the UK hotels but the extent of this mould was much more than usual. The entire hotel looked like nobody has done any maintenance in past 40 years and it smelled that way too. The guests in the room above were running in the room for hours, so I guess that it must have been children and when we asked the reception to talk to them, they asked what we want them to do! Other than that the customer service was good. I wished that we stayed in a tent or Holiday Inn instead. I visit hotels for work all the time and even hotels that were half the price were nicer than this one. There was only one worse hotel than this and that was a half the price and hat cockroaches and it was in Dublin city centre but it wasn't too surprising because of the low price. If you pay over £120 per room you expect much better. If the room cost £65 per night and the restaurant food 1/3 of the price there would be no complaints because it would be expected for the price but we wouldn't stay there. We naively thought that if we pay this price, we get a decent room as everywhere else but that was clearly a mistake. I am writing this review because I wish that someone wrote this review before and we'd know what to expect, so we'd book somewhere else and didn't have spoiled weekend. Thankfully, the beautiful countryside and seaside fixed the unpleasant hotel experience. It costs hundreds of pounds to get there and back and being tired after the journey we were expecting decent food and be able to have a decent shower and food. I suppose that if the food wasn't so bad I wouldn't be as upset but when you are starving and there's nowhere else to go then you start to notice everything else. I used to work in hospitality, so I know when food is microwaved and I just don't think that it's acceptable to charge this sort of money for microwaved food. Also, the texture of the chicken breast was a little strange, like it started to disintegrate from the inside... which is probably a reason that I had ...let's say 'gastro- internal' problems afterwards, which I get approximately once in a decade. So, never again unless this place is completely overhauled and a competent cook hired, or we're just having a drink.

We hadn't booked a table anywhere and after ringing several restaurants eventually rang Anchorage who could fit our group of 8 in. After an hour waiting for our food it became apparent why they had space....food eventually turned up over 90 minutes after we ordered. This was a real shame as the waitress was really friendly and helpful, and the food was also a decent quality but waiting this long for the food is unacceptable. Half the group were past it and no longer hungry by the time we were actually served.

Hmmmmm. What to say ... we stayed 1 night after coming off the Dublin ferry to avoid a 150 mile motorbike ride home at teatime. We wish we had saved the £114 plus evening meal cost and just ridden home. Room no1 has mould in various places including on the window curtains. The shower sliding door jumps off its rail. The bathroom lighting is atrocious- used the mirror light instead. The bed is old. And we had to ask for a new toilet roll on arrival. On the upside, we enjoyed our evening bar meal and the 2 excellent young servers looked after us well.

Only went to the bar area downstairs and not the hotel, as we were staying up the road and wanted a pub that was close to us. We really enjoyed the pub though, plenty of local regulars in at the time which I had a brief chat with. Owner was RUDE beyond belief. This used to be in the britstops guide. (a scheme where motorhome can park the night on the carpark in exchange for eating and drinking in the pub) I asked at the bar if the scheme was running and I could stop the night and what time evening meal started. The lady said the hotel was no longer in the scheme and I'd have to wait for the owner to find out if I could stay. I asked her what time evening meals started (6pm)..i told her I'd wait in my camper and pop back at 6. I get in my van, within minutes the owner taps on my window. "No we don't do britstop, this is a private carpark so if you'd just.... (leave) he turned and walked off!! Now he may have had issues with britstop in the past but he certainly didn't have any reason to have issues with me. Prior to him knocking I had decided to eat there regardless of whether I could stay.. He didn't treat me like the customer i was planning on being. More like dog dirt he wanted off his shoe... Anyway needless to say I didn't waste any time in leaving. What a rude man... Never likely the tired and dated pub was empty.

Since then each time we've been that quality of the food has got worse and worse - the sides disappeared, the lasagne was taken off the menu - our most recent visit being the worst when the steaks looked as if they'd been boiled! Such a shame as it used to be so good.
