One staff was very rude when we entered, ( had blonde hair)just shouting there is a long wait to be served, not at all welcoming, very abrupt, the waitress was very polite, felt sorry for her, we decided to go somewhere else, not recommended.

Haven’t visited here for awhile. Years ago it was a relatively atmospheric tea room. It’s not bad BUT the walls are decorated with cheap tat, and if you are quite happy to listen to the radio while waiting and eating then it’s the place for you. Staff was friendly BUT had a struggle to actually find someoen when it was t8me to pay. It’s okay BUT other places in Conwybare better.

What horrendous service! Given a tatty menu at a very sticky table and then left for at least 20 minutes. When we asked if we could order the waiter moaned that he was already working through the orders he had taken and we would have to wait. Only because I was so tired, we waited and waited and waited. It was only when a customer came he that I heard him say they were now only serving drinks! Nobody had bothered to inform us. It was then I saw one of the waiters knock a teabag on the floor and then return it to the box to use later!!! We left!

You get the picture. The place was filthy, unfortunately we had sat down and ordered before we realised how disgusting the place was. Being British, you tend not to complain, just don’t go there again. The floor was covered in food, discarded paper (no it was’nt a napkin, this place would’nt know what on of those was for). The table was awful, my husbands hand stuck to the table top, the menus were unbelievably dirty. But we had ordered, it was raining, so decided to stick it out. The waitress was surly and unpleasant when I asked for the tea to be changed as I had asked for the tea bag to be left out of the teapot so that I could judge the strength of the tea. When she brought the new teapot full of just water back, she banged it on the down and hot water splashed over the table. As I said surly! When I poured the hot water into the cup, it was full of black bits. Something not right there. The scone I had ordered came and was steaming hot ( straight out of the microwave) would have had to wait 15 minutes for it to cool down enough to butter it. I had had enough by then, even my husband who never complains was fed up with this place. Unfortunately in a place like Conwy you don’t read the reviews before going for a snack or coffee and cake, do you? And that’s how this dreadful place stays open. I can’t understand how it has got a 5 hygiene rating, unless the standards in Wales are considerably lower than those of the rest of the UK! AVOID

Really disappointing, the staff were pleasant but disinterested. They took our order and then came back to say they only had enough juice for one child. Food then took ages to come out and when it did sons potato was burnt to a crisp, wife ordered bacon chicken and Brie and they brought chicken pesto because “we have run out” (of what they didn’t say). Then we found a hair in the pesto and they were then confused that we didn’t want to eat the hairy pesto. And finally they were confused as to how much to charge us. This wasn’t the busiest of days and shouldn’t have been as stressful as it was made to be.

Wouldn’t recommend. Slow service. Was going to get a breakfast but saw someone else’s. Bacon looked like it had been poached and the sausage were the type you get from a chippy (which I like at a chippy, but not suitable for breakfast) Went for toast instead. Took over half an hour and it wasn’t very busy (the other tables had already eaten) Milk jug was full of black bits.

Saw this on our visit to Conwy, it was dog friendly so in we popped. Was extremely busy but despite this offered us (group of 4) 2 tables as they we small. no 4 tables available. Our dog was welcomed with a blanket. (sorry she doesn't like them, it was very nice). The choice on the menu was very good, I'm gluten free but easily catered for here and a first to be able to have a homemade scone (was HUGE!). Was extremely good! Apart from missing the sandwich my father in law had ordered (they got it immediately made when asked about it) the service was very good. Obviously working very hard with how busy and short of space they were.

Visited whilst on holiday in the area. There was a good menu choice and we chose soup and a sandwich, quiche and a breakfast. The staff member who served us was friendly and approachable but it appeared he was on his own and some of the tables hadn't been cleared. The soup was a homemade chicken and mushroom but was cold so sent back and when it came out again was warmer but not piping hot how I like it. The breakfast and the quiche were good.

Good dog friendly cafe. The place is old fashioned , or quaint , depending on your tastes but the sandwich that I had was first class. The place is possibly under staffed as a young lad appeared to be trying to deal with everything except the cooking. He did however do a good job. Not easy access for people with mobility problems and the toilets are upstairs. I was very satisfied with my visit.

We opened the door and were welcomed by a lovely wave of heat which was very much needed after walking through the miserable autumn rain. The dark haired lady there was very hospitable, and we went for her recommendation which was the mini afternoon tea. I’m not exaggerating when I say this, but the scone, cream and jam that we had there was by far the best that I have ever had in my life. So good so, that we went back again during our holiday to have the cream tea. I highly recommend this establishment if you are looking for either lunch, a snack or fancy a sweet treat in the afternoon. The music, décor and atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very quick and attentive. We shall be back here again, the next time we are visiting Conwy. A lovely little find indeed.

From the outside this place looked lovely, however on entering we found ourselves searching for someone to take our order. Around 15-20 minutes later someone finally asked us if we would like a drink, after searching and asking to be served. In all fairness the gentleman serving was so rushed off his feet that he couldn’t deal with the custom which left many people feeling frustrated including ourselves. In saying this the food was absolutely delicious hence the mixed review. Again however we had to find the gentleman in order to pay our bill and leave otherwise we would have been left waiting all day.

Jacket potato, cheese & beans, welsh breakfast & mushroom soup! After 15 mins the milk arrived, 10 mins later my ‘coffee ‘(instant) arrived & the tea - still no food10mins after our drinks arrived my soup arrived in a chipped bowl barely warm, then the jacket potato then after 5/10 mins the welsh breakfast arrived minus toast !!! After my husband had finished his breakfast the young lad came over & said yr toast is nearly ready - so we said don’t bother now as he’d finished!(Checking all the crockery etc there was only 1 plate & 1 glass that wasn’t chipped )This has to be the worst lunch, and bad service we have ever had - not only us too a table of 4 left as they were having to wait 30/45mins for food !!Will not be returning ☹️

One of the worst examples of service I've ever experienced. Myself, my parents and my girlfriend popped in Saturday September 28th for lunch, we liked the menus and ordered. We sat down at an uncleared table, the girl serving promised to clear the cups and plates when taking our drinks order, which she got wrong, forgetting a black coffee after not bothering to tell us the coffee machine was broken, simply letting us order twice and twice saying 'we don't do those', also giving us no warning of the wait for food, which is customary. She then brought the drinks and simply moved the uncleared cups and plates onto the next table, which also hadn't been cleared, so now we were sat opposite a pile of dirty cups and plates and left over bits of other customers' food. After 40 minutes of waiting for our food order, without any interaction from the waitress, we started to think it would be best to just pay for the drinks and leave as the food clearly hadn't been even started on. The waitress, who still hadn't cleared any cups, was obviously working on her own, but not once did I see her rush anywhere, apologize to anyone for the wait, she simply walked in her own time from table to table, or back into the kitchen, not bothering to say a word to customers. I appreciate that she was working alone, but put some effort into it at least, don't just treat paying customers with so much contempt you can't be bothered to even act efficiently to hurry up their wait even a little bit. It was around 1-2pm, she could have only been working a few hours tops. When my mum got up to ask about the wait, the same miserable waitress replied 'Well I don't know how long the food's going to be' and then 'It's not fast food. If you want that you're best going to McDonalds'. This was after around an hour of waiting for a couple of breakfasts and the pancakes. Horrid attitude. We were a bit taken aback at such a rude response, so paid for the drinks, which we had absolutely zero chance of having with our food as intended. 'That's nine pounds' the waitress informed us, no please or thank you, but it was at least the first bit of interaction we had since she took our drinks order an hour ago, so every cloud. I suggest the girl in question undertake a course in basic waitressing skills, which would have been overlooked if it hadn't been for the putrid attitude, otherwise she'll scare away otherwise enthusiastic customers who regularly frequent Conway. Would not be surprised if the entire cafe that day had at least some of the same complaints. The waitresses amateurish and frankly uncalled for attitude infiltrated the atmosphere like a bad smell. Amateurish.

I don't like to do this but this visit was the worst ever. Had to wait about 30 mins before we could order and another 30 mins before it came. My soup was almost cold some slice of factory baked bread with it. My wife had some fried egg on dry toast with a few mushrooms and another had scrambled egg on dry bread and looking at it put you off. Sorry for rambling on but never again. Very sorry.

The young chap waiting was very pleasant and helpful but it took about an hour for all our food to arrive. Dishes were not served together but brought out one after another with 10 minute intervals between. When it did arrive it was not great and awful value for money (and I live in London so I'm used to expensive food).

Mini fish n chips sounded enticing on the board outside as we’re not big eaters especially mid day. We asked for our tea to be served with meal but it had already been stewing so we had to have it early. Waitress cockily told us she’d bring another when food arrived. When chef bought us the meals we asked if we could please have hot water for the tea pot. That didn’t arrive, nor the tea the waitress promised. At £2.50 per person, this is steep. My aunt’s fish was found to be under-cooked in the centre - it was quite wet. This put me off mine, even though it looked ok. I knew the fish would be small, but the size of a beef Burger? Really? My sister’s piece was even tinier.

The young waiter who appeared to be the only person working out front pointed out a table to us but Then having waited nearly ten minutes for the menus we almost left. Wish we had. My fish goujon sandwich was unappetizing. The breadcrumb coating was very thick - the whole thing was probably bought frozen and not prepared from fresh. My friends all selected the Pen-y-Bryn Welsh rarebit and were quite taken aback by the slimy dirty pink topping they were served on their toast. We think the colour was caused by what may have been cranberries in the topping. The whole offering was far too sweet and quite off putting.

We stopped in for lunch and had a Welsh Breakfast and an open Chicken Caesar sandwich. Sandwich was beautifully presented and tasted great. Service was quick and the waiter was very helpful. We loved the extra little touches like warmed milk for the coffee and a love heart home made short cake biscuit on the side. Very satisfied, would definitely recommend.

Room on 2nd floor, tiny bathroom with loo and shower, sink too small/kettle too big to fill from . No wifi as walls too thick. We were on our own in the house. Very helpful staff from tea room showed us around and helped us. Clean room and comfortable bed. Good central position.

Advised on taking a table that food service would be approx. 20mins as they were very busy. Drinks and 2 cakes arrived just about within the 20mins but a prawn sandwich took 50 mins to arrive, Apparently this was because the chef did sandwich orders !!! The lady front of house was doing her very very best to take orders, serve food and take payments but was extremely badly let down bay staff in the kitchen. Far better places in Conwy both for service and quality of food

No idea what's going on here, frankly the poorest dining experience in years. Place looks nice and the menu reads well but all down hill from there. Welsh rarebit (well when in Rome) sloppy and made with cranberries and mayo?, a small overpriced Welsh breakfast (with beans served by the permanently apologising ' in a very hot mannequin' :). My lads waffles, served with no compote as they didn't have it or any alternative were inedible and not charged for. Needs to buck its ideas up smartish or unless it can survive on unwary tourists the future looks short.

Don’t think I’ve ever been to a worse coffee shop for lunch. The menu sounds nice and the establishment has a lot of potential. 3 tables (8 customers) walked out due to waiting to be served and we should have walked too. Two coffees were cold and week, chips were hard / not fully cooked, open toasted Caesar sandwich wasn’t toast or open! To be honest the whole experience was dreadful but it was the service or lack of service that was the worst aspect. I’d be very surprised if they stay in business. One to avoid!
