My friend and I are very impressed with all the food, tasted amazing and it came straight away, nice and warm, and it was absolutely lovely, and the tea was great, the staff were nice and polite. Such a lovely experience, my friend and I will be back again

From entering the cafe the staff appeared to have plenty of time to stand around and chat to each other rather than serve a queue of customers. Upon reaching the till the two female staff members were stood chatting, only one was was actually doing some working as she was preparing hot drinks. After several minutes we had asked politely if we could order food as we were told that they stopped taking food orders after 4.30pm. One member of staff was making drinks whilst the other just talked and said she would be with us in a minute. That staff member then muttered to her colleague and pointed, nodded and laughed at us. The attitude and lack of customer service skills was utterly appalling to say the least. We were then spoken to by another member of the team like crap, no manners or respect was given as we were awaiting glasses to be given to us which we had to ask for 3 times, so that we could get some water. We were also waiting to collect the hot drinks that were ordered. We were expected to move further back down the queue in the opposite direction of the water tank. So very unsure what was expected of us in order to fill the glass with water. After pointing this out she was continually being rude and abrupt and continued to ask us to move in the opposite direction to rejoin the queue of customers awaiting to be served. I had then asked to speak with the manager, the male turned round and he was also rather abrupt and rude and lacked skills in how customers should be spoken too. Not one apology was given by any of the staff in the cafe. The seating area was filled with empty tables uncleared and we had to clear our own table. After a discussion at the table our party of 5 had discussed contacting head office and suddenly the attitude of the staff changed and the manager had made an effort to be nice. Albeit to little too late!! His attitude before was also rude and disrespectful, if he wants customers to be polite and respectful then I suggest this works both ways, our response was a reflection of their attitude and sheer disrespect towards us as customers. Upon leaving and entering the food hall we were heading for Aisle two to access the toilets. A lady had over heard us and the level of service from this lady was high end in comparison to what we had just encountered. We had a discussion with this lady who apologised on behalf of the experience we had encountered and she was absolutely lovely. 10/10. During our visit I may also add that several loud smashing bangs came from behind the counter several times as crockery had been dropped and broken. The staff seemed to be in a rush to finish but had no time for the customers.

My meal had been forgotten and so I had to wait for another 20 minutes whilst my party ate theirs. The fish pie was full of bones and when we went to pay I was offered no recompense. We tried to add a tip for the staff but the bar man used some colourful language to the staff around him as he couldn't work the till. Very poor all round

Excellent. I wasn't expecting much considering it's a supermarket cafe but my breakfast was perfectly cooked. The hashbrowns and tastie scone where a real highlight. I got the big breakfast and a latte. The cost came to just under £12. Not bad compared to the other cafés in Dunfermline. Ladies who are serving are friendly, polite and very accommodating. The coffee is real, vibe in so comfy and cosy. You forget you are in the middle of the shop. I went during the summer holidays, so the were lot's of lovely families. Only con. The is only two people working in quite a large cafe. The serve is quick still. But they really should have more help. It's within walking distance of the high street and bus station. Overall very please. Will be back very soon.

We unfortunately had a coach breakdown on our Lochs & Glens holiday day out but another driver kindly dropped us at the Lomond site. Pouring of rain we walked through Fraser and found the Zest Cafe. Lovely welcoming staff and total surprise they sold gluten free cake ! We enjoyed the friendly camaraderie from all the people in there eating with family and obedient dogs. Wonderful to see. We said goodbye and trooped out to find no coach yet so went bk to the cafe where the staff held up a strawberry slice they were waiting to defrost and I had it and it was lush! They welcomed us all back as friends . A lovely experience and service and cleanliness was 10/10

Mareel is brilliant, the young staff are so friendly and welcoming, we have been twice during our week long stay on Shetland mainland. The free wifi was the draw the first time. lots of quiet work spaces available and good wifi. I worked in the cafe on my second visit. My decaf (not always available in small venues) latte was topped with a gorgeous fluffy cloud of steamed milk. The wraps from the fridge (I chose bacon& egg) were stuffed full of filling too, a really nice change from the supermarket options that have hardly any filling once you get past the first mouthful. I thought the price was good too. The seating in the cafe was great, a mix of tables chairs and comfy sofas. I didn't try any cakes but they looked grand and I overheard a conversation saying they were freshly baked during the week

Honestly amazing experience all round !! Went here for a family meal while up visiting from Leeds and the food was incredible ! Staff were so friendly and welcoming with sense of humour. Although the prices for everything was on the expensive end it was for sure worth it. Defos loved the chocolate bomb dessert , can't wait to come back up to Greenock to go again

We visit regularly for lunch, coffees etc so thought we would try afternoon tea. We had a 2.30 booking. The table was decorated very well and the service was good the food was a bit of a let down. The bread for the sandwiches was delicious but the fillings were just ok. The sweet chutney with the ham was over powering and the chilli cheese again was just a little sickly. The Quiches were all very dry, however the sausage rolls were excellent. The cakes were a mixed bag, the raspberry posset was lovely, the scones were just so dry and overcooked, they didn’t really taste home made ( I buy scones regularly there ) the shortbread was overcooked and crisp, the coffee and brown sugar cake was just dense and tasteless, the brownie was very bitter. It was quite a shock as we have coffee and cakes so often there. We will still go back again but it wasn’t a great afternoon tea experience I am afraid.

We came for a birthday party at the soft play and stayed and had some lunch - such a lovely venue with gardens and walking areas as well as the cafe and softplay for kids. The food in the cafe was surprisingly good. Excellent options for those with dietary requirements and really delicious food which seemed to be properly made from scratch (veggie/vegan mushroom sausage roll and GF pizza were a real hit!). Service was lovely too. Will definitely visit again.
