The Bridge Inn in Falkirk

Overpriced, needs a real menu. While nothing wrong with the quality of the food, the combinations just didn’t work and resulted in a taste mess. I think the “chef” maybe needs to taste his own food. Had the Moroccan lamb. Which came cold, not helped by the ice cold cuscus which seemingly just came out of the fridge, buried under that was my single sprig of broccoli, again cold. While cuscus can be eaten cold, then that’s a cold dish…everything else should be cold, you can’t mix it with lamb and gravy. Add to it fresh mint sprig that overpowered the entire dish, destroying the lamb flavour. When you charge £25 for this dish at the bar rather than the restaurant…your delusions of “restaurant” quality foods stands out. It’s a £12 dish at best and even then it’s below parr. It just doesn’t work. The lamb was fine, but for the love of god, put it with traditional hot veg and maybe some roast potatoes.

Good atmosphere. Great menu. Good service. Delicious food Had a lovely 3 course early dinner for 5 family members today. Such a nice experience.

Great food well kept ale. Each of our party of 4 enjoyed their meal. Haggis Bon Bon’s so tasty, Sea Bream and fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. Handy covered out door dining area meant we could have our dog with us in comfort.

Have been in the Bridge Inn bar twice over the last week for drinks (mid afternoon). They really need to sort out staffing. On first visit one man was serving drinks to those inside and also to a busy beer garden whilst taking food orders. He did his best but people were leaving due to the long wait. Second visit yesterday - bar was busy and there was no designated person behind bar. Had to go to main restaurant to order drinks and ask for bill. Took ages to get drinks orders and again saw someone walk out because of wait. You need to sort out your staffing before you loose more customers which would be a great shame.

Was here for my daughter’s birthday. Waitress taking order didn’t look like she was listening to what we wanted, and we were proved right when our food started to come out. One starter was completely wrong and by the time the correct one arrived, everyone else had finished eating. The only two alcohol based drinks ordered arrived wrong. Two of the main courses were not as described on the menu - various items within the dishes seemed to be substituted or missing. Extra side dishes were completely forgotten about and had to be chased, only for them to arrive wrong again. Overall very disappointing visit and would not recommend to anyone looking for friendly staff or good service.

Terribly disappointing. Only two in the bar and we were told we could eat there by the fire, which was nice. Waited what felt like forever in between ordering. The food was okay but salad was dry and without dressing. When we asked for sauces, we were told they would be brought out but we waited again, as the staff member just laughed along with another punter. Appreciate that you have other customers, but when there is only two and they are just drinking, this isn't really good enough. It was hard to get any staff member's attention. Waitresses were kind and polite. But this place is slow and way over priced. 10% service charge is a joke. I would also suggest asking if someone will need sauces, or sugar, before bringing out items, to save your staff's time and your customer's. I would not recommend eating here but I'd pop in for a pint. No one even asked at the end, how the meal was and I had to go to them, to pay. This was a shame, as the meal was meant to be special. It was a lunch with my mother before I had a major operation.

Waited 45 minutes for our meal when there were only three other tables occupied. Manager blamed the kitchen, it wasn’t her fault! We were served a starter which we couldn’t eat twice! It still appeared on our bill as did the 10% service charge. Manager was clearly unhappy at having to listen to our complaint and gave impression that she couldn’t care less. Such a shame as we have been here lots and it’s going downhill.

Arrived early for a drink and it took 15 mins to prepare a cocktail and a lager. After being seated, I was at the cusp of complaining when the food arrived 35 mins after ordering, despite the restaurant not being busy. Steak was overcooked. Staff try hard but management are invisible. Expensive in my opinion.

So disappointed with Bridge Inn, food was average at best,restaurant cold upstairs due to air con was blowing cold and there nothing they could do ,unfortunately won't be back 😪

Easter Sunday dinner. After 35 minutes I eventually managed to attract a staff members attention to place our food order. It was another 30 minutes before food arrived. Daughter said pizza was lovely but Beef was big disappointment more fat than beef. We had intended eating a dessert but again couldn't get the attention of staff to order anything. Decided just to leave and paid the bill at the bar. Pricey for disappointing meal. Couldn't fault the poor staff. They were run off their feet! This was our 2nd visit and had the same problem before. Owners need to employ more staff.

Possibly the worst service ever! Waiting times for drinks were ridiculous, food had to be sent back and in spite of all of us making it very clear we weren’t happy with the service it took a long time for the manager to show his face. When he did he was incredibly rude. He went outside with one of our party, was full of excuses, apologised to her and offered her a discount on our meal and her and her husband and daughter a free meal and drinks on their return as their daughters birthday was ruined. There were 9 of us there - he never even came to apologise to any of us. Absolutely not good enough. Not impressed at all and such a shame as the food was good but we certainly won’t be back.

My daughter had booked lunch for four people at 1pm at Delhi winter restaurant. We arrived to find the restaurant closed. She had the printed confirmation of her booking in her hand. This was New Year’s Day. Most places were closed or fully booked. We took a chance and phoned the bridge inn. They managed to accommodate us in the bar. It was very quiet and cosy. Service was excellent and the meal was lovely. We had absolutely no complaints and were so glad we had phoned them. We had never been disappointed at the bridge inn and would recommend it. We will certainly return.

Had a lovely Sunday roast, hubby had Mac n cheese and daughter had fish, very nice, service was ok, but wee bit slow with drinks. Been a few times, and I’ve not had a bad meal. The Baileys & caramel cheesecake was really nice.

I returned from a family lunch today and we were not happy customers. We sat down and our ordered drinks arrived after 20 mins. Food finally ordered it was a further 50 mins until it came out. One persons food had to go back as they forgot to note an allergy so it had to be redone. We ate as we were starving and our last person got his food when we had finished ours, so no eating together. My burger was very over cooked bottom burger bun v cold, clearly frozen a spoonful of salad and chips were average. For the price we expected a much higher standard of food. Will not be recommending or returning. Such a shame that no one seems to note how long customers wait time is for food.

service was very slow; my duck breast was tiny; the sofa type searing at the next table was badly torn. Food good when served but I doubt if I will return.

This place previously was really good and worth the money, now the food has really went downhill way below average and for the money you pay I expect much better, I got 6hour shoulder of Dumfries lamb and it was vile to be honest, it had tinned chopped tomatoes through it and the lamb certainly was not shoulder of lamb the sauce was vile to be honest, fish was not up to much tasted frozen chips were basically McDonald’s chips

Lovely evening meal with wonderful service. Starters and main courses packed with flavour and beautifully presented. Attentive and friendly staff. Worth a visit and taking advantage of the Benefit card that offers regular deals and offers.

Outstanding visit. Food hot, plentiful and frankly delicious. We all had different dishes and couldn’t fault them - particular highlight was the steak pie. On the pricey side but given the quality I think it offers value for money. Beautiful decoration and nice atmosphere inside. Car park awful as too narrow and small but wouldn’t put me off coming again.

Just back from lunch at the Bridge Inn. What a tremendous time was had by our party of 6. The staff were so attentive and couldn't do enough for us and catered beautifully for my 91 year old mother. The food and ambience were exceptional. Everything was superb and we look forward to returning.
