Having read some earlier reviews I was a little apprehensive but can assure prospective customers that the poor reviews are really not justified .Yes the menu choice was small but the three of us had different main courses and we agreed all were delicious. Luckily my wife's haddock and chips was too large a portion so I had to help her finish it. What a hardship! Nice crisp batter and triple cooked chips. Service was adequate, if a little slow, but we were not in a hurry. Nice ambience and reasonably priced.

My family called in for a meal on our way home from Scotland. The boy who served us, Dylan, definitely deserves a five star rating. Nothing was too much trouble and he made sure we had everything we needed. The menu choice was very good and very large servings! I would definitely recommend a meal here.

I'm afraid I won't be back. Went to use the facilities and I went into toilets and heard giggling didn't hang around but imagine my dismay when 2 of your cleaners came out of said toilets doing up trousers and straightening themselves up!. Absoloutley disgusting. I've the names of both. To say I'm appalled is an understatement. I came in to shop not witness sex acts. In uniform at the workplace! I'll be informing my friends and family. If this is how you allow your staff to behave! Disgusting if my daughter had been with me and saw that I'd have rang the polis straight away!

Been a few times in the times we have been we haven't had good experiences they aren't kid friendly, or people freindly, drinks came out first then waited well over an hour for food (simple food) we won't be going back.

Coach Trip Comfort break was a rush affair due to having to go to various stations for food ,tea and coffee and cutlery, the food was addequate but not over exciting...It filled the gap

Lovely lunchtime treat after our visit to Floors Castle. We spotted The Terrace Cafe when we visited the beautiful walled garden and had a quick view of the menu before we ventured down to the castle, which is only a 10 min walk away and we had parked the car at the gardens anyway, so one we would be back. Upon entering the cafe, we were greeted warmly and asked if we wanted to sit outside as it was a warm sunny day. With a view like the walled garden, we were pleased we did as the view was lovely and each table had a parasol to protect us from the sun. We could smell the Wisteria, which was absolutely stunning. We both ordered the lamb burgers, which were really tasty and the chips - wow. I decided to take the fennel coleslaw out of the burger as it was delicious with the chips. I couldn’t resist one of the tasty looking cakes and had the lemon & coconut cake recommended by a guide at the castle. This was delish but pleased we shared a slice as I don’t think I could have managed a full piece! Highly recommended place to dine.

My wife and I buy from this establishment on a regular basis and find them hard to beat, the quality of their products are second to none. Well done to all concerned

Have had a caravan in portpatrick for a number of years and visited the Galloway often. Have recently eaten there a couple of times in last few months. The food and the standard of service have been great, big enough menu, plenty of choice. Food has been really good and portions sizes relatively large for a reasonable price. Might be advisable to book as can be quite busy in caravan season.

Visited this pub more than once this week. Nice friendly landlady and staff. Cheap bar prices. Very small bar but there are seats outside at the front, which is a bit of a suntrap, or in the large beer garden at the back. Locals chatty and helpful. Thankfully dogs not allowed in the bar as a couple of dogs in the very small bar space would be accident waiting to happen. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Just off the A7 in the middle of Hawick, Wilton Park is a green oasis, dog friendly with a great kiddies playground and a lovely new Cafe. Follow the signs to Wilton Museum and Park, but do not go into the museum entrance, the Park is signed as the next road on the left. There is no specific park parking but a road with parking runs alongside the park. You can see down onto.the park and.there are paths down the slope. The cafe is new, clean and with pleasant staff. Dogs welcome inside and.out.
