This is the best coffee shop in St Andrews - but only in terms of the coffee and the food. I love the drinks and the bagels especially are *french kiss* but I would love to be able to come and sit, and enjoy my bagel at a table. The issue is that the already limited seating is taken up by students who have pretty much always finished their drinks. I really think it would be a good idea to have maybe half of the seats reserved for people who just want to come and sit for 10 minutes to have a drink because the shop itself is so nice and clearly very well finished. As a student myself I know there are plenty of study spaces in town so a study free area surely wouldn't meet much resistance? I for one would visit the cafe much more often, instead of just for takeaways. That said, the staff are amazing and the coffee is superb.

Excellent food and service. I very nice and well run pub with a great community atmosphere. Used everyday by locals and many tourists and holiday makers. You couldn't ask for a better local pub with close to Michelin star quality food in the restaurant. We are very lucky to have such a high quality bar and restaurant in as a village pub and restaurant.

This pub is truly a cornerstone of any visit to St. Andrews. You can not beat its location, especially the small patio, and the atmosphere is so golfer-friendly I can't imagine a more golf-centric pub anywhere in the world. A good selection of beers and OK, but not the best, service. Sadly, the food was terrible. My first order, the mac and cheese, was so bad I had to return it. I then asked for the chicken baguette. It was terrible too. Sadly, the menu does not have much traditional Scottish pub fare, which is what one might expect when you are 100 yards from the Old Course.

No complaints about the pub itself. Expect market price drinks and a clean pub. However, it does get incredibly crowded and overwhelming once the students start arriving, so make sure to come here nice and early and you will get a good experience.

I absolutely love this place! The portions are generous, especially considering the price. I am gluten intolerant and there are gluten free substitutes for pancakes and toasties (bread) and for gluten free products they are very good. I had a halloumi chorizo toastie which came with homemade soup, salad and chips-not fries but potato chips/crisps. I also had a mocha which was very good. The soup was very cosy and comforting and my sister had pancakes, beans, bacon, sausage and eggs which were all very good. I really recommend coming here the staff is very friendly. It was crowded because it’s a popular place so we had to wait but not long only 5-10 minutes. They also have delicious cakes, I’ve heard positive things about the carrot cake and the hot chocolate.

Went here for Sunday lunch last weekend with high expectations due to reviews we had read and which were heightened when we passed the array of quality beef cuts being dry cured in the cabinets at the restaurant entrance. We both ordered the roast beef and were bitterly disappointed with the quality of the beef which appeared to be properly cooked but mostly inedible. We both had slices that were impossible to cut even with the steak knives supplied. The meat that we did manage to cut was mostly inedible and a couple of small sections were ok. By the time the waitress came round to enquire about our meal we had sated our appetites with potato and veg and always being reluctant to send food back we declined the offer of a roast chicken alternative. The whole point of the trip was to experience the “very best seasonal and locally sourced Scottish beef”! What a joke We were surprised that a high end “destination” restaurant would refuse to acknowledge the poor quality of the food we were served and were simply presented with our bill without comment, apology or deduction. When I expressed this surprise to the waitress she took the bill away and returned some time later with the cost of 2 glasses of wine removed and the meals still at full price, £35ea, which we paid.
