I love it, a must-visit place, order the chai lattel and the brutal almond croissant!

I had some business to do in Edinburgh and went to St. Andrews for half a day, but there was no place for lunch so I happened to go in and get a panini latte while looking around. Recommended.

Great spot for a coffee and pastry! I didn’t try the panini, but have heard they are quite good too. The baristas are kind and even when it’s quite busy they get the drinks out quickly without sacrificing the taste (pun not intended :). They have vegan options for drinks, pastries, and panini. I’d certainly return on my next trip to St. Andrews.

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere but 2 awful coffees (with oatmilk) refund still not come through

We had a chai latte and a normal latte plus 2 cannoli. The chai latte tasted like it had been watered down despite asking for normal milk in it. My partners latte wasn't anything special either, he didn't really enjoy it either. On the plus side the Cannolis were beautiful.

Very good coffee, tasty little sweet treats and also some savory options. For me a great little store and must when I pass through the street.

Taste is amazing! All the locals know it—and that’s how you know. I’ve seen some reviews commenting on customer service, but honestly, don’t you kind of want your barista to be slightly aloof? The best one are. That said, I’ve always had friendly service :) This place is no pretension, all quality. It’s also incredibly cozy: a great place to curl up with a book or get some work done! They make a mean cortado. There are a dozen coffee options in St Andrews and I will always choose Taste <3

No toilet and way overpriced with rude staff

Used to be really nice and friendly but the girls working there now seem very cliquey. The girl who served me was annoyed that I interrupted her conversation about her upcoming Amsterdam trip and then got my order wrong and insisted it was my fault. The food was ok but ill wait until there’s some staff turnover before I go back

Coffee is divine and the cappuccino cannolis and Pastéis de Nata were delicious. The vibes immaculate. Staff=delightful. There isn’t a toilet but I asked across the road, there’s not so much seating. Otherwise flock here.

Tiny, trendy but actually worth a visit. A snug with a student vibe and cool aesthetic. Very chilled playlist along with happy chat made for good atmosphere. Flat white good without being memorable and Pastel de Nata rarely misses the mark

Lovely early morning oat milk latte prepared with care and attention to detail. Very consistent taste. Also, the cannoli and cookies are tdf (to die for). Highly recommend a visit to Taste to get your day started on a crisp Edinburgh morning.

Great little coffee shop in St Andrews. Coffee is excellent and very reasonably priced. Haven't tried the food yet, but it looks very good. They have pastries and sandwiches as well as soft drinks.

Without doubt the best coffee in St Andrews. The staff were always amazing and took extra time to present the coffee beautifully. The Cannoli and Portuguese pastel de Nata was so fresh and super tasty i would highly recommend . The student vibe was lovely . You may have to wait a little while but it was absolutely worth waiting for ....a real gem of a coffee shop and very good prices .

Student’s recommended we grab a drink a pastry from this site and expect to wait outside for our drinks. Ordered an oat milk chai latte which was delicious! I wanted a second one right after. Had the almond croissant it was flaky and tasty.

Used to be so much more welcoming with board games and even more books and small tables to hang out at. It has changed to getting more people through the door and also isn’t open to 10pm anymore:( no more oat hot chocolates on library breaks. It is still a lovely spot and one of if not the best in town. Staff are lovely. Yeah I love it just wish they kept the really cosy vibes from pre Covid.

This quaint tiny coffee shop is a delightful nook away from the hustle and bustle of the busy holiday season. It's like having a personal cosy living room in the centre of the village. They also sell whole bean coffee.

The sign outside says “ the best coffee in town “ it’s easy the best coffee in town and freshly made Portuguese Tarts that are mouthwatering and amazing too… 10/10 from me and in the words of Arnie “ I’ll be back “

Latte art is lovely. The coffee could have a little more flavor and is a little burnt this time; fortunately there’s still a slightly nutty aftertaste. Pastries are on the sweet side. The paninis are glorious. Grilled super crispy and filled with tasty Parma ham, artichoke, sun dried tomatoes, cheese, and pesto. There aren’t many other options in the small town so I guess it’s good enough.

Well made coffee (Flat white), kind service and cozy little reading space. I’ll try paninis next time.

Hot chocolate is gluten free. They also have some GF options like crisps and cannoli!

Cool laid back vibe. Coffee is excellent.

Not that impressed. Coffee was average at best and the 2 members of staff chatted to each other constantly, showing little interest in taking the order. We felt like an inconvenience to be honest. There are only a few seats inside and no standing room.

The London Fog is a regular afternoon treat in our family, and we could just about live on the oh so good Toasties. Brace yourself for a bit of a wait at busy times, but the queue moves fairly quickly and, in our view, is worth the wait.

Seemed short staffed while busy and unfortunately that came through with the coffee. Tasted rushed and not good.

This little café is a real recommendation. Excellent espresso. The warm sandwiches are great, and the sweet little things are also very tasty. We are already looking forward to the next visit. Be careful, the shop is very small and offers very limited space to sit.

Regular since 2017 - great pastries, coffee and lovely staff that are always there for a good chat. Can definitely recommend. The recent addition of homemade Dutch pastries makes me miss the Netherlands a little less.

Taste is unique in that it’s open at early hours in St. Andrews while other places have yet to open. However, due to the high amount of customers and low amount of staff, the coffee is really bad. Frequently rushed, any espresso or hot drink you order will most likely be watery. Very unfortunate, as their pastries are pretty good considering their low price.

This was next door to our hotel so we stopped in for coffees and we were really impressed. Ordered 2 cappucinos which were lovely, I liked the fact they had milk alternatives and we also picked up 2 brownies which were really nice. Great price aswell not expensive. The girls very friendly just a lovely casual little coffee shop that I would definitely recommend and we would return next time

Definitely the best coffee in St Andrews and probably the world. Just sat outside having croissant and coffee what a wonderful start to the day at the home of golf.

The coffee is truly fantastic and well worth waiting the queues. Lovely selection of panini and pastries too. I'm especially a fan of their portuguese pasteles de nata (custard tarts). Recently they started making an amazing peanut soup which is deliciously creamy without being heavy and spicy without blowing your head off. I think they only do it on weekends, but it's definitely well worth investigating.

We visited this superb little cafe every day in St. Andrews. Wonderful coffee and pastries with friendly service.

Read the reviews beforehand and had high expectations. My girlfriend and I have been going around different coffee shops mainly in Glasgow trying to find the best coffee going. As one of the top rated in St Andrew’s we had our hopes up. The coffee actually isn’t bad. It tasted okay, but doesn’t compare to many of the other places we’ve been, but it’s better than Starbucks or Costa. The pastries were actually brilliant and were still warm from being heated. The main issue I have is the service. We waited a good while for our coffees, and when they were ready my order was shouted and as I didn’t fully hear I asked if it was mine to which the barista didn’t even turn to look at me and gave me a pretty blunt sounding “yep” which came across as pretty rude. Not impressed at all.

Visited this lovely independent coffee shop on Saturday - such a lovely refreshing change from the chain coffee shops. The staff were friendly and efficient, The coffee was delicious. I will definitely be returning every time I visit x

Easily the best coffee in town without competition. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Fantastic panini and home-baked treats (vegan and gluten free options too!). I can see how some might find Taste intimidating. It’s an independent shop that looks a bit ‘hipster’ from the outside. But step inside and you’ll find a warm atmosphere with staff who want to put a smile on your face. Taste is a true gem and no visit to St Andrews would be complete without stopping by.

I visited with friends today and was extremely disappointed. Staff were unfriendly, uninterested and there seemed to be a general lack of training and knowledge about the products. With such a huge variety of places to choose from in St Andrew’s, I’d suggest you try somewhere else.

Andrews temprano, ¡algunos cafés no abrieron después del Covid 19! ¡Algunos no admiten perros! ¡Encontramos este que hace comida para llevar en este momento! Eran las 8. 30 am, ¡ya hay algunas personas tan obviamente buenas / populares! Tomamos un café y un pastel cada uno, ¡nos sentamos afuera en un banco al sol! Perfecto ! Así que a la mañana siguiente volvimos a llamar para desayunar, ¡mientras partíamos de regreso a casa! Solo bien ! Los pasteles estaban recién horneados y deliciosos y cálidos. ¡Todo parecía muy seguro para Covid también! Bien hecho ! ¡Lugar brillante! Gracias !

Great coffee! Due to corona you're not allowed to sit in and there is a very small 'terrace' outside on the pavement. So, you have to be lucky to enjoy your coffee while having a seat. Nevertheless: they serve great coffee!!!!

Bought takeaway coffee and tea to enjoy on the seafront - friendly service and great value. Pastal de nata to go with our drinks were excellent.

After a terrible experience at another cafe, this old favourite excelled again. Full observation of current guidelines but no problem. Delicious choc brownie and a seed cake and two excellent coffees to take away. A real banker on any visit to town.

Excellent petit café où se pressent les étudiants de la ville. Intérieur exigu mais à l'ambiance branchée très détendue. Le café est excellent, à un prix tout à fait correct. Il ne sort pas directement de machines mais est préparé à la main par les étudiants qui tiennent le lieu. Très bons petits biscuits/gateaux également. Bémol: le temps d'attente est souvent long comme les baristas ne sont qu'un ou deux et que l'endroit est très petit mais les clients nombreux; et aux dernières nouvelles (cela a pu changer depuis), ils n'acceptent pas la carte, il faut donc avoir de la monnaie sur soi .Un petit business à supporter face aux grandes enseignes de type Starbuck ou Costa qu'on trouve également en ville.

A small, hip coffee shop. I waited for my friend here and had a pastry and a coffee. I think I ordered a macchiato by mistake because in came in a very small cup and was very strong. I got a chocolate twist pastry and that was very good though. Seating is limited but not impossible, they have outlets to charge your phone, and free wifi (it was a bit spotty but better than nothing).

Love their oat milk moccha and the vegan Falafel chiabatta... it is however, a tiny place so bring a lot of time and don't expect there to be any seating! Worth it for me though, my favourite coffee in town and the staff is lovely too!

Desinteresado, privilegiado y cero comprensión de la industria de servicios y cómo ser cortés o efectivo. Buen café y bocadillos pero arruinado por un servicio absolutamente terrible. Espero que el propietario / gerente esté leyendo las reseñas, estaría muy preocupado si fuera mi negocio. Una solución fácil, estoy seguro, pero la cultura actual parece hacer sentir que el personal le está haciendo un favor y enfadado o que no quiere que interrumpa su tiempo charlando con sus amigos.

I was staying at an Airbnb nearby on my visit to St. Andrews, so every morning I walked to this coffee shop for coffee and an almond croissant. I also bought a brownie every day so that I could save it and eat it in the afternoon. Omg, those brownies are amazing! The croissants were very good too, and the staff were hard working. A great little place!

Hopping place in the AM (duh!) mix of golfers, students, locals. Cramped, but genial.Love their mocha!

Very decent coffee, a pretty classic medium/dark roast which isn't usually to my taste but well extracted so it wasn't bitter or acrid. The flat white was also great. The interior is very cosy and classic coffee house style with a tired but comfy leather sofa. There's not much seating, especially for groups. It would be great if they took card but there is a cash machine just round the corner.

We fancied some coffee before catching our train back and this place was so lovely. The coffee was good, the place is so chill and the cakes are amazing. Deffo recommend!!

A lovely cute spot for a coffee stop while cycling round St Andrews. Service was fast and lots of students coming in for takeaway coffee. Small but cost.
