Terrible! Was given... not served... a tuna mayo roll.... what a joke. It was as flat as a pancake and served on a paper plate . No tomato no salad. Only a flat roll which was frodge cold! Tea served in a paper cup. Avoid. One positive. I got my money back.

Lunch was very disappointed today at the start of the arts festival. Have been many times before and lady year during the festival and have always enjoyed the food/drinks but today the ready made rolls were horrible. Cheap egg mayonnaise filling from a catering tub and poor quality breakfast tea. Tables weren’t cleared so wasps were having a field day.

Went in to the funky Scottish cafe with the family for lunch today. The four of us sat down and chatted amongst ourselves for some time. There were a couple of people sitting at a neighbouring table working on a lap top. There were no menus on the tables or any clues about what food was available. No-one came to greet us, serve us or help us in any way so we decided to leave. Even as we got our coats on, nothing was said. As we left my husband asked the girls at the table whether there was anyone serving, to which she replied that it was counter service..... up until that point I'd thought they were customers! With 3 cafes to choose from in pittenweem main street, this standard of customer service is a recipe for bankruptcy.

We had lunch in this wee gem in August. It was busy because of the arts festival but staff were good humoured and were working their socks off to make sure people were served as quickly as possible! Karen is a great hostess and there’s opportunity to browse the gallery before or after your lunch. Friendly and great cakes! Would recommend!

While i get that this is a very busy week in pittenweem with the art festival our visit to this cafe which looked lovely was very dissapoibting. Charge £3.00 for a can of juice. The fruit scones we ordered were not fresh. I genuinely dont complain easily but as scones are my favourite, didnt make this up. I was offered an alternative by the plwasant lady who listened the owner over rode this and instantly returned our money obviously offended. There was nice craft stuff in the shop, outside and inside was very pleasant, so hope if your visiting it was just our misfortune to go on a bad day.

I often stay in St Monans and come through to Pittenweem every time I do. I always enjoy visiting Funky Scottish, it's a family run business and they always have an interesting collection of local art. The staff are always friendly and accommodating, even when there's many of us with dogs! Possibly the best hot chocolate in the East Neuk. I don't understand the negative reviews, every cafe in town/shop/pub is the same during the arts festival!

My partner and I popped into this wee gem on an afternoon walking around the East Neuk. Nice selection of food on the menu. We had autumn veg soup. It was so tasty, fresh and filling. The bread that accompanied it was so fresh. There was a good selection of sandwiches, cakes and tea / coffee. The selection of gifts available in the shop is good and are a good price. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed in the cafe until we were ready to continue walking again. We would highly recommend.

We, (wife and two daughters), went for a walk around this lovely wee harbour town and found this wee gem. We had coffee, juice for the bairns, and carrot cake, the best carrot cake we've ever tasted, freshly baked that morning so we were told. The service was prompt and very friendly. Definitely one to keep in mind for a return journey.

We were visiting Pittenweem for the arts festival and stopped here for coffee as the place looked lovely and had outdoor seating. I waited in a queue for 30mins to order 2 coffees and 2 scones! The two young girls were trying hard to cope but were clearly very inexperienced. They were joined by the mother of one of the girls who was so rude to people commenting that "I'm not washing dishes all day so give coffee in paper cups" and complaining about how busy they were. If it wasn't for the nice surroundings and good quality baking this place would be a disaster - which is where it's heading if they don't address the rude and disinterested staff member!

I love Funky Scottish's Cafe. Hands down the best cakes in the East Neuk. I've been told the cakes are made by a baker in Cupar and they are excellent. The carrot cake is fabulous and there are also usually some gluten free or dairy free options as well. There are also sandwiches and soup. The Illy coffee is a bonus and the prices are cheap compared to other local venues. The service is consistently of a high standard and always a smile to go with your food! Lovely items by the proprietor/artist and on a sunny day the best place to sit outside and watch the life of Pittenweem stream by!
