We had a Çilbir and buttermilk chicken. I am more of a Shakshuka than Çilbir when it comes to poached eggs but I decided to give it a try. Definitely a good choice: Perfectly cooked and presented, they were delicious, as was the coffee. I sampled the chicken, it too was extremely good. It's a bit far from Edinburgh where I live, but anyone passing in the area will enjoy the friendly place and quality of food. They wouldn't be out of place in any more fashionable city or location. A great little find. I'll try the Shakshuka next time I am in the area.

This deli shop in delightful Ballater has got a good assortment of cheeses, some olives and pickles and a selection of pantry food: jam, honey, marmalade etc The cakes look delicious and the fresh fruit and vegetables were very appetising. The building is amazing and the shop windows invite you to walk in. We will try the smoked cheese we bought from you.

I had a refreshing cup of coffee and my husband had his favorite espresso beverage. The coffee and espresso beverage were well prepared. We also ate some breakfast rolls along with baguettes. Delicious food and well experienced staff.

I knew there had been a major makeover but never knew till today that there was new management and chef The menu of course had changed and no longer had the great choice. I am not a great breakfast person and usually go for lunch. This was no longer an option. I chose a pulled pork with ham on sourdough. It turned up with no pulled pork or ham but roast pork which turned my stomach. I was not told about this when I gave my order. I returned it to the kitchen. I reordered the haddock rarebit which was nice enough, but would not reorder it. I was looking forward to sweet but chose against it due to the lack of suitable choices. All in all it is very different from the old Roastit Bubbly Jocks. No longer my cup of tea. My partner enjoyed his breakfast, not so his sweet. His breakfast was a much smaller portion. The couple at the next table had the same opinion as us. The girl like me had difficulty in making a choice. So if you think you are going to the old restaurant... Stop and consider. The revamp was lovely. The decor and finishings
