We went there for a quick breakfast. The sandwiches are really good and the service was super friendly.

I like to go come here. Always fresh in there (and so is the food!). Its a wee oasis of good food and chuckles. Enjoy.

This place has been a staple in the city centre for aslong as I can remember, the food is as delicious as from when I was a kid, prices are more than reasonable for supporting a small local business, love eating here and getting banter from the staff.

Top notch little sandwich bar/cafe. The kind of place where they're only too happy to make you exactly what you'd like. Seating is limited, so I usually take out and sit in the kirk yard.

Cracking wee traditional sandwich and soup shop (with lots more) with a massive range of brilliant-looking and -tasting home baking. Reasonable, sensible prices, too. Loved the chicken and yellow pea soup. Friendly real staff.

It's a small but comfortable place with a different vibe. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I'd give a 4 on cleanliness, but I wouldn't call it dirty. The food was in generous portions (we had the tuna melt and baked potatoes) and so was the coffee. Overall, we were very happy with the meal.

Thought I’d try a breakfast again as very disappointed with last one but didn’t think it would be bad again as usually this place is reasonably good. Weekend breakfast definitely gone downhill. Cold limp hash brown, cold sausage, solid black pudding and greasy fried egg. Not worth £7.

We had lunch in this homely little cafe twice last week on a visit to Aberdeen, once for soup, proper homemade lentil & bacon soup like your granny used to make, excellent And secondly in the week for a small breakfast, which was an excellent hangover cure! What makes this place though is the staff, the ladies we met, Sheila, Pam, and a young girl with dark hair who were all friendly, chatty and really funny. They clearly love the banter with customers which is great to see, and it shows because the place was going like a fair for takeaways alongside the dine in customers. If I lived in Aberdeen I’d be in here all the time!

Managed to visit yesterday. Had Tuna melt panini and a shortbread fruit slice. Was brilliant. Staff were very professional and polite. Made me feel very welcome. Will definitely recommend this place and will be back 👍😁

Noticed this little place when visiting Aberdeen so decided to get our lunch there. There’s a good selection of sandwich fillings with different breads. The cheese savoury was very tasty but sadly hardly any filling was in the sandwich so it was certainly lacking there. Another server gave more chicken filling in my son’s sandwich. But the traybakes! There’s a huge selection and they all looked so tasty. The biscoff one was particularly beautiful! I wish this was my local sandwich shop! The staff were very friendly.

Brilliant food, great price for the portions. I mean £5.00 for crusty bread (approx 6 baguette slices), Large portion of macaroni and cheese with bacon in it. A nice home bake treat and a can of Diet Coke all for £8.30. All local homemade food and wonderful ladies who run it. One of the best local takeaways you'll get. Also if you want healthy, they do sandwiches, toasties, baked potato, huge salad boxes with whatever you like and even breakfasts!

Excellent Catering ... Excellent Service ... Would have absolutely no hesitation in using Upperkrust in the future. From asking for advice with menu choice to Jackie personally putting the food down on the table, the service was first class. The staff who attended the lunch were delighted.

Fast friendly service, freshly prepared food, brake rolls available along with tea, coffee and soft drinks with options to eat in our take away. Open from 7am, I'll be back again.

Had some tasty lentil soup and a tuna sandwich with some flavoursome coffee. Moderately priced having a definitively independent character rather than just another chain store. Indoor seating available but low capacity. A huge selection of tasty treats with generous sizes. It'll take a number of visits to get round the selection. Would definitely return.

Staff always friendly, plenty of pictures on wall for amusement so no need to be on mobiles if dining with someone, and the food is cracking. The A board outside usually has something comical on it too

Full monty breakfast good price 7 items. Cup of tea setved in take away cup but i like that. Food tastes ok clean cafe.

As a first timer I joined the short line waiting to get in. Ordered the excellent soup and a satay baguette. Sure it took a few min to arrive but I spent the time reading all the NEMS and photos of satisfied customers posted on the walls so the wait soon passed. All the serving ladies seemed very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be making the long walk back for my lunches.

Whether it's breakfast or lunch the welcome you get from the staff is so welcoming. Food if freshly made and very reasonable priced. Recommend anyone to pop in past and see these people

Popped in for a coffee before leaving Aberdeen and was pleasantly surprised. Wished I'd found this little gem of a place sooner. It has gluten free bread for sandwiches and the people could not do enough to help. They are also completely Bonkers!! Page Thee Models! Plus..! I think a poor chap by the name of Brian, who may need some Valium by the end of every day. But you will go a long way in Aberdeen to find a better take away or sit in cafe for great sandwich food that is fresh and prepared before you. Tray bake cakes your granny would be proud of also. Please ask for the "James Bond - Bake" they let me name it - smooth chocolate on top of two shortbread rounds held together with a thick layer of butter cream. Dark, substantial, satisfying and ultimately yummy it had 007 written all over it. Enjoy your lunch and have a great laugh at the same time best lunch I had in a very long time.

A great take-away sandwich shop that sells a range of cold sandwiches, toasties, soup and jacket tatties. There is also a range of home baked cakes to tempt the hungry. All served with a smile! Worth checking out if you are in the area and need lunch.

Great selection and choice for breakfast or lunch. Really generous portions and so much to choose from. The homebaked cakes are delicious. Reasonably and competitvly priced especially considering the quality of the food. The staff are fabulous having time to speak to every customer. Would recomend a visit only a couple of eat in tables. Perfect for lunch on the go.

The ladies that run upperkrust are mad as the hatter but amazing banter and great food! No matter what kind of day it is you come out smiling! Highly recommended for a lunchtime bite!

first time i went in had bacon n black pudding roll contents did not taste fresh second time had breakfast was really good 3rd and final time had breakfast which looked like everything had been microwaved solid slicey limp hash browns.. the saving grace for this shop is the homebakes and i thnk through process of elimination food tastes best when the woman is on (small cheery blonde)

Popped in this afternoon for tea/ coffee and cakes and as usual the cafe was busy but the staff are not only efficient but are great fun, chatting and interacting with all their customers making everyone feel very welcome.

Normally lovely food, colleague got breakfast for the team and on receiving it back at the office I got, black toast that was inedible as all u could taste was the burnt bread, cold sausage and an egg that was sliding around the container in grease. Really hope this is a bad day for this nice cafe as if today was a glimpse of the future it is not looking bright 😓🙁

A breakfast/lunch sandwich place with an awesome personality!

I go to school just round the corner and me and my friends go at least twice a week. There is a large selection of sandwich fillings, different soups, macaroni, stovies, there is too much to name. The staff are great fun they always have a laugh and get you in a good mood. Would highly recommend and hope if anyone is ever near go in and get something. It is a highly great experience which would be missed if you didn't go.

I have been working in Aberdeen for couple weeks now. I have another week or so here. I can safely say I'll be making a daily visit to this gem. Aberdeen is a place I come to regularly as a certain football team I support play here! But this is the first time I've stumbled on this place. Forever grateful I have! Aberdeen has very little in the way of independent cafes. Lots of the corporate places. So this stands out among them for that alone. But then the staff are so friendly, and now with their hats for festive. Its mighty! Cheap and so close to the theatre where I'm working. I'm loving it. Have had the soup and couple of wee biscuits(Well....its the festive) and love the food. Really flavoursome. Staff have personalities and smile and talk to you for want rather than need. I'm spoilt for choice in Glasgow with this kind of place, but up here nada. I urge everyone to give this place a go. Certainly the best place in town for me for the money! A belter in Aberdeen!

Enough said.... But as I must I will also say that the girls behind the counter are friendly. So more than just a filled roll!

Having had poor service before I tried again thinking it was a one off. My server was solemn and dismissive and gave me the wrong change until I prompted her I was due back a fiver. No apology, just a half hearted sigh and the note thrust in my direction while she chatted with her pal

I'm not in Aberdeen very often but when I'm out shopping I head for Uppercrust for their traditional fare. Very friendly staff but don't leave it too late, they close at 3pm.

A Friday is not the same without a visit to Uppercrust for bacon, sausage or egg baps, or a combination of them all.They serve massive fancy pieces which are really tasty as well as good to look at.As usual the girls in Uppercrust have banter going from the minute you walk in. Really enjoyable going into a place like this and getting really genuine and loving service by people who really care about what they do and serving customers.No artificial smiles or corporate scripts of how to greet customers at Uppercrust....and you support a local business into the bargain. Well done quines

I love it here, amazing wraps and sandwiches etc. All the staff are so friendly and chatty, and also amusing to read all the signs and look at the photos around the shop. Cakes are also fab!

I love Upperkrust not just for the amazing sandwiches but mainly because of all of the ladies who work there - they're just super friendly and always have a smile on their face and are always laughing.There's a great selection of choice of sandwich fillings and I've never found another sandwich shop that can match the amazing thick white bread they have. There's always a good selection of homebakes to tempt you aswell!!The only thing that puts me off on a weekday is the huge line of schoolkids that all order panini's and pack the place out but they can be avoided if you go earlier.Overall, best sandwiches in Aberdeen!

Während unserer Besichtigung der Innenstadt von Aberdeen wollten wir eigentlich nur einen Kaffee im Upperkrust Restaurant and Cafe trinken. Da die Backwaren aber sehr lecker aussahen, nahmen wir ein Stück Kuchen/Brownie mit Schokolade bzw. mit Früchten. Beides war für schottische Verhältnisse eher preiswert, dabei aber wirklich lecker und definitiv ganz frisch gebacken. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr sympathisch und erzählten sowohl mit uns als auch anderen Gästen. Von daher eine sehr gute Wahl, wenn man mal eine kurze Auszeit zur Erholung benötigt.

This place sells the best paninis in town! The all year Christmas panini is the best! The staff are such a hoot and always take time to get to know customers and have a laugh. Such a great place and the cakes are delicious too!

This little place opens up early for breakfasts and is constantly busy throughout the day. The ladies (and I believe there is at least one gent now) behind the counters are all a little bit mad!! They're very into charity fundraising and dressing up for any reason.The food is amazing, a wide variety of soups, sandwiches, breakfast rolls, mac n cheese, stovies, baked tatties with crisps, drinks, cakes and confections.This is for me a regular lunch choice, I go as much for the food as I do for the banter, a hidden gem once discovered never forgotten.

What a treat, there's a huge menu including hot and cold offerings of fresh, tasty, freshly prepared food. We had macaroni cheese with salad and a baked potato, beans and salad but the baguettes and sandwiches looked amazing too, there was also a good choice of breads. The food is served the way you want it with as much or as little salad as you want, I chose loads with mine and yet there was still plenty more variety that I didn't choose. We ate in ate the cute seating area, it was hilarious to eat while listening to the banter given to all their customers, most of which they seem to know by name. There's also loads to read on the walls which gave a lot of cause for laughter from the children with us.The cakes are amazing, homemade, huge and very, very good. I noticed they were labelled if made with butter, a nice tasty, quality touch. If you have room after one of their huge sandwiches you have to have one.The staff were welcoming and friendly, we had never been before but felt like we were regulars the way we were treated. We'll make a point of going back, friendly banter and good food at their reasonable prices is too good to pass.

Went today with my mum for lunch fancying a change. Hadn't been there for a good while. The usual good atmosphere and server with the dyed hair who I remembered from before who was really nice. My mum had a baguette and a home bake - still a great selection. However, the server who made my panini strayed off on her break on the bench outside and left my panini in the grill. When the penny dropped she came back in and made sure to tell me that 'The panini looks darker because we have to heat for longer to cook the chicken'. The chicken was precooked and if temperature was an issue where was the temperature probe? The thing was clearly over done and the panini was brittle and burned. The server clocked me pulling the thing apart and then came back to say she noticed the temperature was higher than usual. I don't appreciate being fobbed off. A simple apology for forgetting would've been fine - mistakes happen but don't lie to customers. I asked for my money back instead of a replacement on principle.

We get our regular Friday order of bacon, sausage and egg rolls from the cafe and the quality is consistently perfect. I can't ever remember a time when someone has been dissapointed with the food.Always greeted with a smile and warm welcome - that's why it's everyone's local carry-out go-to-place.Lunchtimes are busy but always a smile and a wee chat.Great selection of sandwiches and food plus everything nice and freshly prepared for you.What a great place, with great food and great people behind the counter - thanks quines

Upperkrust has been a regular haunt for myself and colleagues for the past few years now and I can't recall a time where it has ever disappointed. The staff are just hysterical and a bit doolaly (in a good way) and go out of their way to make sure you are catered for. Beautiful, fresh ingredients go into the sandwich fillings and they do exactly that, fill them! Really good to see an independent business thrive as much as they do, and its obvious to see why. I'll always go here on a weekly basis for as long as I work in the city centre.

Great food at great prices. This is best sandwich shop in Aberdeen. You can have paninis, sandwiches, stovies, soup, hot dish of the day and beautiful home bakesEverything is made fresh in the cafe. The prices are good too. It's great to see an independent cafe in the city centre standing up to the big boys and beating them.The staff really seem to have fun too and this shows in the amount of regulars that seem to come in every time I am there.The girls wirk so hard at making your short time there fun with fancy dress theme days.But most of all I go there for the quality of the food

We found the Upperkrust by chance, while walking from town to our free parking space. Our attention was caught by the sign for stovies, which are getting harder to come by these days. We also noticed the long line of students from Robert Gordon University waiting to get in, so we thought that it would be good. And it was!The first and second times we ate at the UpperKrust, we went for the stovies. The portions are huge! We could each barely finish a small container. (They offer you a slice of beetroot on the top - that's an option, and doesn't cost extra.) The last two times, we got the ham and cheddar with chutney on a mega softie. The sandwiches were as big as a small plate! The prices are very reasonable; service is great; all the employees look as though they're having a wonderful time; and every time we've been in the Upperkrust, the place has been packed out with students, blue collar workers, office workers, and shoppers who know the value of good food at a good price.Unfortunately, there are only two tables inside the cafe, so if you don't get a seat, you may have to go across the street to the benches on the other side. Or you can walk up the hill to St. Nicholas Kirkyard, and have a repast with the dead.The Upperkrust is located at 46 Upperkirkgate, which is just up the hill from the Bon Accord and St. Nicholas Centers, going toward Marischal College. They also do breakfast (open at 7 a.m.)This a cafe where you can get a good meal for a good price, and that doesn't happen too often in Aberdeen.
