Amazingly good food in a beautiful chic, ambient little bistro in Rosemount where local produce is lovingly showcased. Fantastic service, great wine list, fab cocktails. Enjoyed immensely by me and my pal. Can’t wait to come back…

Having been wanting to try Tarragon since it opened I was pleased that it did not disappoint. The service was immaculate and the majority of the staff were friendly and helpful (although when we arrived I had to offer that we had a reservation). Overall, we all enjoyed the food. The English muffin with the chicken liver parfait was unbelievably good, but very small. The cassoulet with the cod lacked flavour sadly and the crumb was quite wet, but the fish was cooked well. With some fine tuning this place could be a real gem. Having said that we will definitely be back and would expect Tarragon to continue to rise in popularity.

Service was excellent. Decor is great. Food was good, but wouldn't describe as 'fine dining'. Chicken liver parfait to start was delicious but not enough muffin with it to eat all the parfait. Beef was lovely and soft, presentation could be better. Perhaps break up the huge lump of beef? Cheese was very disappointing, lots of oatcakes but 4 tiny bits of very warm cheese. Overall good value at £45 for 3 courses. Wine is expensive and choice limited.

Excellent eatery with small but well formed menu. All dishes were all tasty, very generous and value for money. Only critique could be tables very close and basic cutlery. Would happily return and I will.

Lovely evening. Arrived and got the only table left, so I thought there might be a bit of a wait, but no. Service was slick and efficient. The food was excellent. Only my tortellini was not quite as tasty as it sounded on the menu. But I'm not deducting 1/2 a point from an excellent night out.

I went with a group of friends, the main courses were good but all the Starters and desserts were pretty poor. Mine tasted like fennel. I feel like they used the same sauce in my starter and dessert. The service was really bad as well, considering is supposed to be a fine dining. The guys serving us were not trained. They didn’t know what dishes they were bringing to the table (we got haggis Wong wongs haha as the guy called them and something like a chocolate cake (it was a chocolate fondant haha) at least that made us laugh. When clearing the plates, They were stacking up all the plates from the table on our table. One of the guys stacked all the plates on top of my partner’s plate, and left them there to go for a cocktail they forgot to bring to our table after I had to remind him, Instead of taking the plates with him. You wouldn’t mind a service like that if you go to a pub, but we were expecting more. Cocktails were not good either. I am trying to understand why is this place so highly rated tbh.

A family celebration, 1 baby, 3 children and 8 adults at 5pm on a Saturday. Friendly welcome from Rob, enthusiastic staff and tasty food enjoyed by all. For me, Fillet of Aberdeen Angus, medium rare and cooked so well, with very tasty and well presented haggis, pomme puree, neep puree and whisky jus. Delightful surprise of amuse bouche with arancini, brioche and Tarragon butter. Starters and desserts, kids menu, all perfect. A fine dining experience, on two floors, with private room available too. Well done, Graham Mitchell and crew. See you all soon, booking ahead for sure.

Well….. We decided to have dinner at Tarragon last night. The food was pretty good, no denying that, if a bit expensive. What happened a couple of hours later was that my partner threw up all of her dinner and I had vomiting and diarrhoea from the early hours for six hours. Whether this was caused by the food we cannot say with any certainty. Took the shine off the evening, though.

Local restaurant that we have been meaning to visit for awhile. We popped in today for lunch. Food was well above my expectation given I only had a club sandwich. Made even better that my request for some mayo, was met with Chef making me some fresh made mayo! Hubbie’s fishcakes were also ‘awfa fine’. Lovely lunch and wine. We will definitely be back, next time in the evening.

Had a lovely meal here. We were given a complimentary amuse bouche and bread to start the meal. I ordered the halibut which came slightly more cooked than I'd usually like however it was still a delicious dish - the hispi cabbage was particularly tasty. My partner ordered the venison which was absolutely lovely the beans added a good bite to the dish. The restaurant did feel a little crowded with the number of tables with just one table removed I think it would have opened up the space a lot more but we would definitely visit again. The service was very good and all the staff were attentive and welcoming.

I had the pleasure of dining at Tarragon three times during my visit to Aberdeen. All three times were a gastronomic delight and extremely enjoyable. The restaurant atmosphere is inviting, the service is friendly, and the food is amazing. Graham Mitchell's restaurant boasts a farm (or sea) to table menu, and he delivers. The Buckie scallops, the Aberdeen Angus beef, and the Sunday roast of lamb were all amazing. The drinks menu also has a cocktail and wine list sure to suite everyone's pallette. The only disappointment is that I don't live in Aberdeen, because this may just be my favorite new restaurant. Don't hesitate to make a booking next time your in the Silver City.!

Couldn't wait to try Tarragon after all the great reviews! Was very disappointed with the food! had the scallop and chicken Tikka dish to start which lacked flavour and was underseasoned and they just didn't seem to belong together on the plate! Then had the Aberdeen angus fillet which also was very bland and was underseasoned also had the chicken ballotine which also lacked flavour! Everything looked great on the plate and the presentation was outstanding but the taste did not live up to the presentation! The cheese board and the sticky toffee pudding cheesecake we could not fault and the bottle of wine was great! Service was good but the food seemed to come out of the kitchen very fast we had our starters and mains eaten with 30 mins which is unheard of and the food was not very hot! Was looking forward to this as bene to the Newmachar hotel and the food was brilliant but this did not live up to that standards! Unfortunately I don't think I will hurry back!

Slightly underwhelmed Artichoke starter was lovely. Scallop and tandoori chicken starter was slightly mix matched, dont think they belonged together on the plate. Lamb main dish was delicous, however was slightly on the small side for what we paid. The mushroom/dahl main course was a big disappointment, looked great on the plate but was massively underseasoned and just lacked in flavour. I got my main dish swapped which resulted in me eating my main course whilst my husband was eating his dessert. The bill came and we had nothing taken off as an apology. Unsure whether we'd go back

This is a very welcome restaurant to Rosemount. The moment we arrived we got a warm welcome and were shown through to the private room. 3 of our party of 8 were delayed for a considerable time as their taxi never arrived. The restaurant was busy but thankfully they worked round us. The staff are a credit to the restaurant. The food was absolutely beautiful and served piping hot. I had a very tasty venison dish followed by a lovely chocolate torte. All the meals looked delicious and we were all very happy. We will be back. Thank you for a great night. Susan Christie

My experience at Tarragon was 5 Star start to finish. From the moment i walked in the staff were friendly and attentive. Jay who looked after us throughout the evening was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about both the drinks that they served and the food on the menu. I had the venison for my main course. Went for lunch with a group of friends, restaurant is cosy and has a really nice ambiance. Food was delicious, the Cullen Skink was extra creamy and probably one of the best I’ve had in a while. Pan seared sea bream was amazing, crispy and tasty with lots of crayfish underneath. Good selection of cocktails for afterwards too! Only niggle was the toilets downstairs (perhaps something to bear in mind if less mobile) the could probably do with a bit of an overhaul but on the whole it doesn’t detract from the great experience upstairs.

Went for dinner on Saturday night. The main room is much nicer, than the back room. The food was superb. We had seabream and venison - absolutely exquisite! The banana dessert was unusual and delicious. The big BUT were the drinks. The £11 plum & gin cocktail did not taste of gin at all, just big tall glass full of ice with some plum syrup in it. I didn't like their Shiraz either. The staff was attentive, but not well trained. For example, they did not bring the proper knife for the venison, we waited for a very long time for the drinks, they came to take our order, but did not bring the gluten-free menu, which we asked for long in advance. Will be coming back, but for food only.

Had dinner on Saturday evening with friends. Never been before. It was very busy and the tables were squashed in. The service was good, the menu was limited but food was excellent. The wine list was poor. We didn’t like the house red, the middle range red was no better and we didn’t want to spend £45 for the most expensive red. I’m unlikely to visit again unless they sort out the wine list.

Happened in on Sunday lunchtime for what we thought was a coffee/bistro place. Boy were we surprised, lovely interior and superb service, husband opted for a main course of Chicken ballotine with Taragon sauce, superb, SO tasty, mouthwatering. I went for the very reasonably priced Sunday roast/s a plateful of loveliness, Turkey, Beef and Pork delightfully roasted with gravy, roasties, carrots & swede, skirlie, pigs in blankets, creamed leeks, and the best ever red braised cabbage, reminisant of tasty chinese spare ribs, flavoured with star anis and clove. I had to ask what chef put in that because it was delightful. Can't wait to go back with friends. First class service, professional but friendly. Relaxed atmosphere.
