Whilst visiting Coldstream, we came across this delightful cafe. The cafe is decorated with the theme of Alice in Wonderland, but the main charm has to be the warm, friendly welcome with tasty and great value food. We found the cafe to have a homely feel. The gentleman serving was pleasant from us stepping inside the café. We were only visiting the area, so we are not locals but we were not treat any differently to those who clearly were. The cafe is very popular with local people, which is always a very good sign. The gentleman serving us still gave us a polite welcome, and whoever he served it was noted that he knew their name and gave each of them his time and chatted to them, which we thought was quite lovely. We ordered cream tea for two which we believe was great value, in fact we feel that they could charge more. The scones were warmed and were of a generous size, with plenty of fruit in them. It was presented well with lots of clotted cream and strawberry jam, yum! We had a lovely teapot of tea with a shortbread biscuit. A visit to this particular café was delightful and brightened up an overcast day. Thank you for the service and the delicious cream tea.

What a lovely little tearoom. Great service from a nice guy. Lovely homemade cakes. We had the coffee and walnut cake- homemade - very light, spot on. We would've eaten there too if it were a little bit later in the day. The cooked food looked lovely too. Super reasonable prices. Very clean. Highly recommended. Ps Coldstream is very limited for cafes, food.Sad really.High St reminiscent of many a high street today - nothing of interest- looks unloved.

I was going to get a morning coffee and scone here, but despite the cafe being empty they would not let me in with my dog (a clean and quiet whippet). That's their prerogative of course, but don't bother trying here if you have a pet with you.Just to note, they have a cafe full of plastic screens, so are obviously taking COVID precautions very seriously.

I thought the outside looked very dreary but the inside was fine, and I liked the theme. However my pannini was horrible. I didn't even eat it which is very unlike me! It was spongy and not cooked (to be fair they were very busy). The owner asked a couple on an another table if they would share their table which I thought was very bad - if they wanted to share, they would offer. I could see they were not very happy about it. The owner should not have put them in that position in my opinion. The coffee was very good, and I thought it was very reasonably priced

Excellent home cooked food, fabulous cakes and entertaining surroundings. We had lunch here, the homemade soup was delicious and the cake afterwards was gorgeous. Well worth a visit!

Two of mine and my husbands friends brought us here on Saturday 4th June, it is a gorgeous, quirky, cheer café which is tastefully decorated, I love the bright, cheerful wallpaper on the top half of the wall, Children would love it there to. The owners are very welcoming, polite and friendly, it's a very clean, tidy place. The service was excellent and so was the atmosphere and also the value. I was amazed at how delicious the cakes looked there for I had to try a slice of cake, I had the mint choclolate cake it was delicious, my husband had the coffee and walnut cake and he really enjoyed that to, as well as his cappuccino. I didn't have a drink. Our friends had scones and and coffee which they enjoyed to. To the people that read this... If you are in the area make sure you go, you'll not be disappointed. :-)

Cream tea for two for £6:95- choice of tea or coffee, good scones and plenty of jam and cream. Decent little tea shop with friendly service. Cakes looked nice too. Also cooked specials and sandwiches on the menu.

What an amazing place! I’d just walked along the river bank from Norham, and was looking for somewhere for afternoon tea before catching the bus back.It was lovely to find somewhere just a little bit different (oh, OK then, quite a LOT different!). I was made to feel very welcome, and the cream tea I ordered was absolutely delicious! There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it: You need to be as mad as a hatter. Which luckily I am.

Just had a delicious lunch here with the best bowl of soup I think I've ever had. I can't recommend this place highly enough... Friendly welcome, quirky surroundings and all home made food, the bread included. Worth a visit to the town for the food alone! Thanks for having us... If we're in the area again, we'll be back!!!

Had been looking forward to my visit made specifically to try this place out. Noone else in except the numerous staff all talking away happily to each other. After looking at menu which looked fabulous I went up to order as none of staff looked vaguely interested in taking my order. No sit down we will come to you. I sat and waited and the place started to fill. 3 other tables came in and someone came from behind the counter to clear dirty dishes that had been on a table when I went in. Finally someone came to serve me and I commented on my wait to which I was given a story about the coffee machine not working which was why staff were chatting. Hmmmmn really. Then as of course luck would have it they were out of the very thing I was there to have. I will give them another chance another day as the menu was interesting but the service was shockingly bad especially if they then are having to tell people no coffee! Zero recognition of interaction with customers and I speak as someone with a long hospitality career. Great location great menu but lacking in customer connection.

We were staying next door at the Crown Inn to attend a wedding in the area however commencement of their lunch service was leaving us tight for time so we popped in here instead in the knowledge we’d get a decent snack. The stairs may be a challenge for the less able however it’s worth the effort as the produce served is very good. We both ordered quiche which was served with salad, coleslaw, crisps and a Balsamic dressing (£6.50). I’m not usually too keen on Balsamic however I used some from the small pot provided separately and it turned out to be fine. The quiche itself was very good. We had coffee (£3) and tea (£2.80) which were very good too but since we were a bit pushed for time we had tray bakes as takeaway - Millionaire Shortbread for my wife and a slice of Aero Mint for myself. Both priced at £3.50 they went down well with a coffee the following day when we were back home! Service on this occasion by the two young females serving was pleasant and efficient. Overall cost for lunch was a reasonable £25.80.
