Am Eingang stand ein Schild "Hunde willkommen". Hat uns gefreut, wir betraten mit Hund den Laden, kauften ein leckeres Eis mit riesigen Kugeln. Zum Abschluss schenkte uns die Verkäuferin ein Eis für den Hund, es hat ihm gut geschmeckt. War sein erstes Eis.

The BEST dairy free ice cream I've ever had. I tried the strawberry first and it was perfectly light and creamy and not overly sweet. Went back the next day and got the chocolate and the strawberry. The chocolate was the richest and most chocolatey ice cream I've ever tasted, dairy free or otherwise. They also have a great selection of candy and other snacks.

Very delicious ice-cream, lovely flavours and great textured silky ice-cream, we had a plain waffle cone and salted caramel and white chocolate/hazelnut, and a sprinkle waffle cone with brambleberry/white choc chip and white chocolate/hazelnut. Could not have been happier, is a must visit in Portree. There were other things on offer, ice-cream sammiches and such, but we just head tunnel vision for the cones and scoops. The staff that worked there could not have been nicer and were very kind to our beloved dog Pete and he got a little doggy portion of ice-cream for being a good boy.

Stayed in Isle of Skye a few months ago and this was my go to place. Both the cookie sandwiches and the brioche buns were amazing and I recommend 10/10

Lovely ice cream, milk shakes etc but can be long queues due to social distancing.

Sometimes the queue are quiet long but there is a reason for it. The Ice cream is so yummy and scoops are huge. Taste and quality is spot on.

Not only was the ice cream delicious (I had the banoffee) They allowed me in with my 2 dogs so I could choose which flavour and cone I wanted. There is a sign in the door saying 'dogs welcome'. When they saw the dogs, they then gave me a complimentary cup of doggy ice cream for each of them with a little doggy biscuit. It was so lovely of them, particularly as it was a warm day. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed their treat, as I did mine. Thank you to you all at The Original Isle of Skye Ice Cream Shop :)

Amazing ice cream, some of the flavours they have are rum & raisin, cranachan, watermelon sorbet and lemon meringue. Would call again.

Cuando llegamos a Portree, fue una agradable sorpresa encontrar un lugar de helados artesanales locales. Probamos el chocolate vegano, que era uno de nuestros favoritos. Y también probamos el sabor Cranachan (frambuesa, miel de brezo y avena), que fue un agradable descubrimiento. No te pongas fangoso ya que este es EL lugar de helados. Había una cola corta pero definitivamente valió la pena la espera.

Don't go to Portree without a visit to this shop for ice cream. Two large scoops in a waffle cone is just the best. I had tablet and clotted cream along with rum-n-raisin. Fabulous.

Stopped off in passing, drawn in by the extensive and unusual list of flavours including vegan choices and were not disappointed, they were very flavoursome and with a choice of types of cones, toppings, fudge or chocolate sticks one could really customise their choice.Very busy but fast efficient and friendly service at a reasonable priceWill definitely return to try other flavours in the future

Cute little shop with fresh double cream ice cream and random candies. I got their gingerbread + custard cone - so creamy and delicious! The gingerbread pieces in the custard ice cream. Just make sure you have cash on you. Definitely check this place out if you're in the mood for dessert.

My husband and I visited here yesterday. I was going to be driving right after, so I ordered a milkshake to make it easier while driving. Apparently it was emphasis on the milk because it was literally pure liquid when they gave it to me. I was so sad by the time I realized, but the line was out the door, and we were in a hurry. I had some of my husbands cone, and it was excellent. I would def go back, I just would not get a milkshake.

Spotted this place, sign enticed us in! Good selection of cones even including a gluten-free one. Varied selection of ice-creams ... all our choices were delicious. Bubblegum, cranachan, both especially good. Nice place to pop into on sunny day

We saw the sign for artisanal ice cream and were really looking forward to our. The waffle cones were very nice, however the lemon meringue tasted like fake lemon and the Scottish cream, oat and raspberry was okay but not that flavoursome

Second trip in a week to the shop for ice cream and just as lovely as the first. The staff are friendly and informative and the ice cream is just delicious! Highly recommended if you are in Portree. On a rainy or on sunny day. Because any day is a good day for ice cream, right?

One day in Portree with guests we tried the ice cream - it is excellent and clearly home made. Well worth a visit.

Walking in the heat deserves an ice cream and we were not disappointed here. Many flavours of ice cream and sorbet, crispy cones and happy service. Not expensive either.

On a hot day the pink grapefruit sorbet on top of a ball of cranachan, in a waffle cone, is refreshing and tasty. Ice creams elsewhere making similar claims about 'artisan' origins can be a lot more expensive than this. Get an ice cream and wander down to the harbour.

What an ice cream ! The taste is still there in my mouth ! Our tour guide recommended this place n told that they make this ice cream in Isle of Skye itself while the other nearby restaurant's recipie is not local. We thought of giving it a try after fish n chips. Took three cones ( Ah ! And they also have those old soft cones, we use to have as kids). The one which had cran berry n coffee taste at the end was the best, i am not able to recollect the full name, but it started with C. Dont miss that. The rates are fairly reasonable, even a small cone is enough ( is actually large by Indian standards). Costs about 2.4 to 2.7 pounds depending on the cone/cup option you choose in small category. Do try if you r going to Isle of Skye
