This is a must do. Cafe serving home made chocolates and, lovely food. Dog friendly, warm and welcoming. Food was great value and excellent, I had lunch there and the soup and cheese scone were just delicious. The hot chocolate was, quite simply, the best I have ever had

Absolutely first-class stay as usual. If you're mountain biking in the Dales this is a must. Stu and Brenda run an excellent cafe, bunkhouse accommodation and bike shop. Everything you need if you're biking through: laundry, dry room, bike servicing (I got my gears indexed by Ben), tons of incredible cake, lovely breakfast, friendly chat and all in the most heavenly location. I wish I lived nearer! The biking from the door is absolutely awesome too. Try the lung busting climb up onto High Fremington!

We wanted a couple of take away roast dinners so tried Louis Bar. We were really impressed with them. We had the roast Turkey and roast lamb dinners and they were excellent. Came with all the expected trimmings and lots of gravy. We will definitely be using the bar again. 🤓

We dropped in after scouring the railway vintage memorabilia shop for a coffee and cakes. A very warm welcome from the staff and from the wonderful coal fire. We enjoyed the railway theme of the cafe and they have various Wensleydale Railway items for sale, such as beer and engraved glass packs. The home baking was excellent and the coffee hot and flavoursome. A good selection of snacks. It's the sort of place where everyone is relaxed and conversations with other customers start. Great to see and hear the trains going by. Seats on the platform if you want to get closer to the action.

Basil Fawlty lives! If you want to be made to feel awkward and unwelcome pop in. We were seated in the empty cold bar for wife's birthday meal as seemingly because we had our children with us. I asked to sit in the restaurant so we weren't sat alone. Landlord said he couldn't due to it being carpeted (bar was carpeted too). Eventually went to wooden floor area where two other tables were, seemed like he was trying to separate us. He was clearly stressed and only waiting on three tables including ours, laughable really. He bordered on rude and impolite when rushing back for a wine order nearly immediately after I asked for a few moments. No one came to see how our meal was, which is a basic courtesy in a restaurant. No thanks on payment either. Used to be a nice pub now run by a total clown who is out of his depth doing basic things. AVOID.

Stumbled upon this cafe while visiting the area and decided to give it a go . Dog friendly which is great for us ! Was busy but managed to squeeze us in , would probably be wise to book . Great variety on menu , we went for full English and eggs Benedict. Wow we was not disappointed, best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had and hubby said his breakfast was fantastic. All quality cuts of meat . Sausages was beautiful nothing we could complain about. Our dog loved her sausage too . Staff was so friendly too . Was so good we decided to return for tea and cake in afternoon after our walk . Wasn’t disappointed, scones were amazing and fantastic selection of lovely cakes and cheesecakes . Would highly recommend and would definitely return when in the area .

Quirky for sure but very friendly and very keen to please. The soup we had was delicious and having leaf tea was a treat. Scones on the table is a lovely idea but a cover would be better. Lovely chat with the proprietor and really good at engaging with our whole family.

Our group of two families ordered take out lunch to eat in the market square. The staff were very friendly, amenable to menu customisations and gave us an honest estimate of how long our order would take, given how busy the cafe was. We didn’t mind waiting in the sun drinking our yummy smoothies / coffees. Our sandwiches, paninis, sausage rolls and salad were all delicious!
