Came across this cafe whilst on a drive through Swaledale. We were lucky enough to get an inside table and had a lovely lunch. Although the menu is small, the quality of the food is excellent and it is run by a lovely lady. Definitely will return if we are ever in the Dales again!

Fabulous hosts, wonderful toasties & cake (all of them!), and superb coffee (latte made with oat milk for me). Would recommend a visit to anyone visiting or holidaying in the area.

This was our second visit and have now sampled Lemon Drizzle, Victoria Sandwich, Ginger Cake and Death by Chocolate Cake, the lightest and best cakes we have ever had in a tea shop, absolutely delicious. Both times we sat outside on The Green and our drinks and cake were brought out to us. Mel and her partner were very welcoming and had time for a chat. We will definitely be back. Lin & John

We called in on a snowy day and were pleased to reach the warmth both in terms of the welcome and the log burning fire in the lower room. We had coffee, sandwiches and cake which were delicious and at a reasonable price. I would certainly recommend this cafe.

What a lovely visit. A great IPA and lemon drizzle cake and a delectable hostess who was helpful, engaging, friendly and very interesting. The premises were immaculately clean and a lovely spot to sit outside in the sun. Full marks and worth a revisit.

Called in with my dog for a welcome pit-stop after my journey on public transport with all my luggage. I had a lovely cup of Yorkshire tea with toasted tea-cake. The crockery is beautiful, hand thrown pottery! The ginger cake I took away with me, was delicious!! Melanie was very friendly and went above & beyond, offering to look after my luggage, allowing me to take a stroll around the village with my dog & find the cottage before check in. Will be back again in the week. Highly recommend!

Tried the White House for the first time and had a fabulous soup, sandwiches and cake lunch, all home made. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and she has decorated the White House beautifully. We sat downstairs in a small but very cozy setting next to a wood burner where we enjoyed an hour. Dog friendly. Every visitor to Reeth should try this establishment.

We dropped in after scouring the railway vintage memorabilia shop for a coffee and cakes. A very warm welcome from the staff and from the wonderful coal fire. We enjoyed the railway theme of the cafe and they have various Wensleydale Railway items for sale, such as beer and engraved glass packs. The home baking was excellent and the coffee hot and flavoursome. A good selection of snacks. It's the sort of place where everyone is relaxed and conversations with other customers start. Great to see and hear the trains going by. Seats on the platform if you want to get closer to the action.

On edge of village in mini light industrial area of Reeth a few minutes from green. Well run. Nice food. Couple of alley tables. No real view though.

Quirky for sure but very friendly and very keen to please. The soup we had was delicious and having leaf tea was a treat. Scones on the table is a lovely idea but a cover would be better. Lovely chat with the proprietor and really good at engaging with our whole family.

Just thought I would take the opportunity and time to give credit where it’s due! I have read through some of the reviews from 2022 and can only imagine that there was a hang over from Covid , or there must have been different owners? I couldn’t praise this establishment highly enough. This is the only Pub in the small hamlet of Redmire , and the centre of the community. It was a wonderful mixture of friendly ambience with excellent traditional food. 3 of us visited in June , and after dining on the Monday, we ate there for the rest of the week, and never had anything other than a good meal, trying different dishes every night! We are returning again in August , and will probably dine again every evening during our vacation. This is a fantastic local pub serving quality traditional food made from locally sourced produce. If people are expecting Haute cuisine, then they need to manage their expectations, and probably dine elsewhere, leaving more capacity for the customers that appreciate it. As far as we are concerned…. Well done and keep up the good work! 👍👍👍
