Absolutely first-class stay as usual. If you're mountain biking in the Dales this is a must. Stu and Brenda run an excellent cafe, bunkhouse accommodation and bike shop. Everything you need if you're biking through: laundry, dry room, bike servicing (I got my gears indexed by Ben), tons of incredible cake, lovely breakfast, friendly chat and all in the most heavenly location. I wish I lived nearer! The biking from the door is absolutely awesome too. Try the lung busting climb up onto High Fremington!

Stopped here for a coffee & cake in the café adjacent to the bike hire area. Set in beautiful countryside. We sat outside which also has a covered area similar to a tent which was also lovely. Staff all helpful & friendly and dogs are welcome too 🐶 they champion local produce 👍obviously also popular with cyclists along with hiring & buying of mountain bikes/cycles etc

I went to this place because it was near where I was visiting and it had a reputation for selling nice cakes alongside bike hire. Well, I went back twice because to me, it's more like a lovely cake cafe with bike hire as a sideline. I don't want to diminish the bike business, which looks really good, but I am a walker and enjoy a calorie boost! The coffee and snacks are worth a visit too.

Totally excellent day guided e mountain biking. Unbelievably stunning country side to ride through with a superb host / guide. Stu tailored the ride to suite our skill / experience and the bikes themselves were excellent at racing through all the terrains. Just had the best day 😁

A great place for a quick break when riding around the Dales (or to visit if in the area and not cycling 😁). A very large choice of cakes available makes it hard to choose. Plus the soups are delicious (so my friends said).

Went here recently a couple of times for the full cooked breakfast and we thought it was perfect, despite what another reviewer recently said. The cakes look fabulous, service was great, so we recommend a visit here if in the area and wanting a quality breakfast or hot drink and cake.

We were very impressed by this place. Delicious and extensive range of soups, and the ham and cutney sandwich was in my mother's words 'the best she's had in a long time'. Most of all it was very good value for money. We also brought someone items home. My cheese scone was excellent and there was no problem about heating it up. Really good!

First visit, first impressions were good, nice seating area, good atmosphere and friendly pleasant staff. Breakfast was disappointing,.... Toast was very pale, hash browns cold in the middle, eggs hard, greasy finger marks on edge of plate. Maybe it was just a bad day. Worth a visit though.

This was a great find and served very delightful cakes and coffee etc. My main problem was that despite it having excellent sustainability credentials, the plants inside looked as if they were dying and not watered at all, which is very sad to see.

Last time we stayed at the biking centre was 13 years ago. We were passing by last week and stopped off for a coffee. What a transformation and such a pleasant surprise. The cafe is now huge and very welcoming. Coffee and cakes were as delicious as we’d remember but the choice was staggering. Well done to everyone concerned.

Absolutely LOVE the bike shop, as someone who lives in Swaledale it’s SO fantastic to have a spot that you can take friends and family and go for a lovely quick cafe lunch! Their menu is so brilliant and the variety and quality of the baked good is unmatched! There is no where like it around. I only have one bad thing to say, I just wish they would change their coffee supplier because the coffee is not good!

Attracted by their Tripadvisor images of those wonderful various deep gateaux, we decided to drop in and indulge in those beautiful calorie loaded treats. However, what was on offer on the day were smaller pre-sliced cakes, not the deep beauties in their TA pictures. The quiche was served cold - not at it's best. The coleslaw accompanying the quiche was tasty, the coffee was enjoyable, ham sandwich enjoyable. Service was welcoming, warm and friendly and prices reasonable.

We are regular visitors to the Dales Bike Centre and enjoy the homemade food, local Lonton coffee and fantastic cakes. During Covid-19 the cafe is operating as a takeaway with seating and benches outside, some under a tepee shelter. Highlights include the sausage rolls, breakfast in a bun, paninis and a selection of salads. Make sure you leave space for a cake!. We definitely recommend this place if your in the area.

We hired two e-bikes to ride The Swale trail, very inexperienced mountain bikers! Ben was fantastic, he made sure we were completely comfortable with using the bikes before giving us clear directions (and a map) to the start of the trail. Helmets included in the hire price. We had such a fun time, cycled the trail to Gunnerside for lunch in the pub there and came back along the very quiete roads into Reeth, my chain came off but a very quick call to Ben and some easy instructions had us back on the road very quickly. We would highly recommend Dales Bike Center and the friendly, professional staff.

It’s not the first time I’ve eaten at the Dales Bike Centre, I’ve used the free to guests car park while I’ve been out walking and riding a number of times. I’ve also eaten and drank at the cafe, however Wednesday just past I experienced heaven in a brown paper bag. Wednesday I took my wife for the first time, we called in for a coffee and panini, the coffee is delicious, even in a paper cup (Ah Covid times), the panini, cranberry, Brie and bacon was perfect although I had to share. We then did a nice little walk straight from the door. On return, tea was required and this time rocky road, I’ve walked and cycled all over the country and eaten rocky road more times the. I remember, but never, NEVER, have I eaten such a fantastic concoction of chocolate - rolo, malteser, Freddofrog, marshmallow and biscuit as this! One piece was not enough and so two more were bought. Dales Bike Centre cafe ladies, you are the best in Britain. Thank you.

We are on holiday in Richmond and had taken a trip to Aysgarth Falls one morning. I’d seen many amazing reviews about this place so with a choice of the tea room or a 10 mile detour to Dales then Dales it was. Took a scenic route over and so glad we did, the reviews were correct, fabulous place. We were very impressed by the quality, quantity and price and if we lived locally we would be here all the time. We aren’t cyclists but that doesn’t matter, we still found this place the best cafe so far on our visits. Standards are very high and the cake....well what can I say.....huge!

Unfortunately, the Dales Bike Centre tea room is very close to my home, and therefore I find myself having to go in for another slice of the marvelous coffee and walnut cake when I am out walking in the area!!! This isn't helping my waistline at all, but it's such a pleasurable experience that I will have to do it again very soon!! I have tried other cakes too and some of the traybakes and all of them are of the highest quality. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Swaledale is the most remote and in my mind the prettiest of the Yorkshire Dales. This cafe epitomises everything about the Yorkshire Dales, homemade cakes, great staple food (Bacon butties and hearty soups) at a realistic price served with a smile and humour. We where staying round the corner so used it frequently after an early morning walking of the dogs (before we headed off to walk on the moors for the day). You will not be disappointed, if you are travelling alone you will be assured of a good chinwag with the many like minded people using the cafe.

We dropped in after scouring the railway vintage memorabilia shop for a coffee and cakes. A very warm welcome from the staff and from the wonderful coal fire. We enjoyed the railway theme of the cafe and they have various Wensleydale Railway items for sale, such as beer and engraved glass packs. The home baking was excellent and the coffee hot and flavoursome. A good selection of snacks. It's the sort of place where everyone is relaxed and conversations with other customers start. Great to see and hear the trains going by. Seats on the platform if you want to get closer to the action.
