Our group of two families ordered take out lunch to eat in the market square. The staff were very friendly, amenable to menu customisations and gave us an honest estimate of how long our order would take, given how busy the cafe was. We didn’t mind waiting in the sun drinking our yummy smoothies / coffees. Our sandwiches, paninis, sausage rolls and salad were all delicious!

We called in for lunch, after a morning spent walking. We were pleasantly surprised to find there was iced bubble tea available, very welcome on a warm day. We both ordered muffins with toppings, which were very tasty but smaller than expected, followed by coffee and cake. Before leaving, to continue our walk, we asked where the customer toilets were, only to be told they didn’t have one. It was suggested that we went to the toilets in Wetherspoons, or the market hall.

Stopped here on a long trip from Northumberland to Norfolk. Very welcoming, good coffee, tea and cake. Really lovely friendly service, lots of locals known by name. This would have been a 5 except the tables were so crammed in we could only get in by moving the table forward and back again, and our neighbours edging away so we could breathe. And as this was a much needed pitstop, we were quite taken aback that there was no loo! Reading others' comments we would not go there for lunch, as we like to know what is on offer and how much it is before deciding.

Starting with a positive the staff were both attentive and polite. Unfortunately the food was dreadful to put it politely. I ordered the eggs Benedict the eggs were very over cooked/ poached and the hollandaise sauce was bitter with a taste of vinegar mixed with mayonnaise. On discussion with the staff they apologised and presented me with a bill. As a Richmond resident I enjoy supporting the local businesses, but will leave it a while before trying sip again. Hopefully the quality of the food can improve.

Visited this lovely cosy cafe twice whilst recently staying in Richmond. Delicious home cooked cakes and bakes served with good coffee in a lovely friendly environment. Very reasonably priced too. Well worth popping in if you are in the vicinity.

Nice cakes but had the pitta with bhaji and pitta which had a strong over powering take and when raised it was shrugged off a bit.All in all nice but not sure if I would go back

Confusing experience due to there being no menus. Ended up having a breakfast wrap for lunch as I didn't know why else was available. I understand the principle behind serving seasonal produce and therefore the menu changing often but it would be much more helpful to have at least a vague idea of what's available rather than being advised "you can have a cheese toastie and add to it". What's wrong with having the basics and maybe a specials board, or pie of the day, scone of the day etc. It's a real shame as the food I saw coming out which I was then very jealous of, not knowing that it was available, looked lovely.

This cafe is COVID safe with high levels of cleanliness and presentation. I purchased coffee and a scone, both delicious! The service was good from a very friendly and helpful lady. Seating is on benches outside with throws provided should it get cold. Overall an excellent experience!

The 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme brought us to Sip. The pandemic appeared to restrict the coffee house to two inside tables and we booked one of them. Our hot food was a mix of chicken and beef burgers. Everything was freshly cooked and we were very pleased with our choices. The chips and coleslaw was good too. Our cakes were less of a success and my coffee and walnut was average at best. Service was a little haphazard - our waitress was pleasant but very slow to clear away. The cafe wasn't busy so why this was so was puzzling. Anyway this didn't detract from our experience which we enjoyed.

Went in for the first time today after living in Richmond a long time. Myself and my partner are both vegan and tried the bhaji pasty and the jackfruit pasty as well as Oreo brownie and raspberry Viennese whirl. Really good size and amazing flavour!! Price was good too. So impressed. Will definitely be going back.

We stumbled across Sip and are so glad we did! I’m dairy free and they had a fantastic range of homemade vegan bakes as well as non vegan cakes and bakes. I had the vegan biscoff brownie and got a takeaway vegan biscoff cookie. My parents had a raspberry flapjack and a raspberry sponge cake, which they said were very nice. I also got a vegan samosa to take away which was delicious. They had taken excellent Covid precautions and we felt very safe. Prices were very reasonable (and that was before the eat out to help out 50% off!) and staff very friendly. We enjoyed it so much we popped back mid cycle later in the week!

First week of lifting of lockdown restrictions. Monday. Very friendly helpful staff who know their produce. Very pandemic aware and only one table inside and one outside. The food was absolutely delicious. (Wraps/Quiche etc) The coffee great!! Very reasonably priced! A real delight!! Highly recommended!

Visited whilst staying in Richmond. There are many coffee shops on the main Street but this one is a not to miss. The lady was SO friendly, tables clean and seems to be popular with the locals. When we called the lady, could be owner, was trying to get ingredients to batch Cook for her elderly regulars, how kind is that. There was a good choice of very reasonable priced cakes including a good range of gluten free

Sip Coffee is our favourite place to eat and drink. The service is excellent, Wendy works hard baking all the cakes and Savory meals to a very high standard. This is the place to come if you are visiting Richmond and enjoy a friendly atmosphere, and are looking to chill out with a coffee and cake.

Having looked at lunch menus in Market Square, we ventured a very short way off and saw Sip. The prices looked (and are!) very reasonable so we went in. We were lucky that a table became vacant as we walked in. Having got seated, we had a very warm welcome and prompt service. Our order was taken in such a way that it was very tailored to our tastes. So often when any order requires further questions, it can become an ordeal... “white or brown? Large or regular?” Etc. Despite the number of follow up questions, they were delivered with such charm that we felt welcome rather than a burden. The food, when delivered, was delicious and excellent value for money. My mum subsequently had a free top up for her tea, and my daughter assures me that her Rocky Road was wonderful. She also told me that, if we lived in Richmond, this would be our cafe. I agree. I also regret that it won’t be but I definitely don’t regret wandering off Market Square to find Sip.

My wife and I found this excellent familty run cafe for our lunch just a short walk from the town square. I decided to have the home-made steak pie with chips and peas and my wife had the mushroom soup with bread and butter. We really enjoyed our meals and found the service to be friendly and efficient. It was good value for money and we will certainly be returning to Sip Coffee and Eat on our next visit to Richmond.

We visited for our second time and were not disappointed. We had chicken and vegetable noodles, a huge portion & extremely tasty for only £5 and a tuna sandwich with salad and chips for £4. Each time we visited the owners were really friendly and allowed our two westies to join us. It is only a small cafe but the food is excellent, freshly prepared and amazing value. I would thoroughly recommend a visit

Struggling to find a coffee shop open after 4 on Saturday, we spotted a billboard pointing to this place down a side street off the main square. The shop is bright & airy and simply furnished, the proprietors welcoming and the coffee very good. Will go again when in the area.

Had a sausage and mushroom bun . Sausages were not the same as I’d had on previous visit which I had enjoyed ! They seemed to be of inferior quality . Mushrooms were salty and inedible . I suspect they’d been fried with the bacon . Shame as on previous visits we have enjoyed the quality of the ingredients!

Best coffee shop in Richmond in my opinion. Cappuccinos are the best I’ve had anywhere, and presented beautifully. Staff are friendly and accommodating, and even tolerate my young cockerpoo, much appreciated. Home made soup is absolutely gorgeous. My favourite place to go when I’ve got half an hour or so to myself, a real treat.

I pop in when in town which isn't often enough. Great coffee at a great price. I have to say that the person complaining below about extra for cream is totally out of order. Do they expect it for nothing ? It makes a refreshing change to pay less when you don't have the extras. Great service and a warm welcome in a comfortable modern setting. FANTASTIC!

popped in for a coffee - Americano = £2. That's good - but as I have cream that's £2.30. That's not a good impression. No - I didn't tell the fella with his back to me working the machine or the trainee waitress. Anyway, there were six tables for two, one for five (in the bay window & occupied by one old fella reading the paper) and two coffee bar stools. There was a modest range of cakes and I happened to notice panninis on the wallboard (no menus on the tables - oh, no sweetener, either). An average experience but adequate for a coffee break. I'll go again.

We called in today for the first time. Lovely smell of coffee when you went in. Ordered 2 coffees, one toasted teacake and one panini. I had nearly finished my teacake by the time the panini was delivered through to the counter, the young girl then decided to serve someone before delivering the panini, WITH HER THUMB ON THE TOP OF THE PANINI, , even though there was a very good young man serving with her. She then went back to the counter area and DECIDED TO PUT HER LONG HAIR UP INTO A PONY TAIL WITH HER HANDS, when she decided it was okay she went back to the counter to serve more customers - washing her hands would have been a good idea. Do not think we will be going back there. The young man was brilliant and very polite, no problems with him at all

Quirky for sure but very friendly and very keen to please. The soup we had was delicious and having leaf tea was a treat. Scones on the table is a lovely idea but a cover would be better. Lovely chat with the proprietor and really good at engaging with our whole family.

Just thought I would take the opportunity and time to give credit where it’s due! I have read through some of the reviews from 2022 and can only imagine that there was a hang over from Covid , or there must have been different owners? I couldn’t praise this establishment highly enough. This is the only Pub in the small hamlet of Redmire , and the centre of the community. It was a wonderful mixture of friendly ambience with excellent traditional food. 3 of us visited in June , and after dining on the Monday, we ate there for the rest of the week, and never had anything other than a good meal, trying different dishes every night! We are returning again in August , and will probably dine again every evening during our vacation. This is a fantastic local pub serving quality traditional food made from locally sourced produce. If people are expecting Haute cuisine, then they need to manage their expectations, and probably dine elsewhere, leaving more capacity for the customers that appreciate it. As far as we are concerned…. Well done and keep up the good work! 👍👍👍
