I’m so glad that there was a free table at this busy cafe. The staff were really welcoming and helped me choose a treat, we had a chat about the interesting and exciting range of cakes and I had a browse through the Thirteen cookbook that is on sale here whilst enjoying my coffee. This cafe is everything an independent should be - welcoming, lively and inspiring. It’s really hard to choose a cake when you get to the counter (they all looked delicious) but I was really impressed with the gorgeous ginger slice - delicious and really suited to a cold winter day in Knaresborough. The coffee was also excellent. This is a busy cafe, so not really suitable for sitting with a laptop or having a long meeting, it’s more suited to a catch up with friends for a treat. Don’t walk past - if you see a free seat go inside!

Always a delight to visit the station cafe in Knaresborough ! Great owner and staff who always give you a warm welcome . A lot of railway memorabilia adds to the character ! Sausage sandwich went down very well and kept me going while I further explored the town ! Highly recommended ! 😊

Charming surroundings in this small boutiqe Tea room. The staff are friendly, the food is good and really large proportions. My wife and friends ordered toastie but actually they could have ordered only half as one order is big enough to share between two. Next time we are in the vicinity we will definitely be back

We decided to visit Watermill cafe with an offer going. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have known it was there. Sublime setting even though we were in the cafe due to poor weather. The Afternoon Tea was brilliant with a vast variety of selections (for two) and superb service from the staff on duty. I’m a big eater and we still took food away. Rachel, the owner, was very accommodating and lovely. We’ll be visiting again soon. Thank you ladies for the lovely experience! One should expect to park near by and walk 5 mins to the cafe (if going by car) and a bit chilli inside the cafe on a winter morning (understandable as the building is dated). My friend and I were not bothered by either.

Apparently the chef went off sick. Fair enough, I know that things happen but to be told by a member of staff that they couldn’t contact anyone as they didn’t have any details was not true. I was asked for, and gave, my phone number when I booked so why make stuff up?

Decided to have a change of morning coffee venue so drive the distance to Knaresboroughs St James Retail Park. Stanleys Kitchen is situated on the top floor of the Barker and Stonehouse store A privately owned and managed coffee shop and kitchen aka ' eatery ' , serving the perfectly cooked breakfast foods and exquisitely cooked range of light meals . I'm a very fussy poached egg eater and on taking my orders my clear preferences were noted and hey presto my lazy Sunday breakfast was perfect , garnish and all. Staff and service second to non. Price reflects ambiance, quality and service. We wont be leaving it long before we return

Lovely lunchtime find! The food was excellent and great value, and the service was relaxed and not at all pushy. Before we ordered anything the server asked if either of us had any allergies, we don’t but I was very impressed that we were asked upfront. We will both be recommending this Restaurant to our friends and are looking forward to returning.

Fantastic little sandwich shop, I used to go on a regular basis when I worked in Knaresborough. Food is always freshly made for you and the staff are really friendly and offer great customer service.

Booked in late afternoon, after being told by the waitress that certain options weren’t available including stuffing with a Sunday roast we waited more than 45 mins for food to come and couldn’t see anyone else eating! The menu stated that a roast came with cauliflower cheese and seasonal veg, however when the meal came the cauliflower cheese came in a watery sauce and the seasonal veg was even more cauliflower and sliced carrots, nothing green in sight to be seen, how is that a proper Sunday dinner? The two measly roast potatoes looked lonely and afraid by the cauliflower ganging up on them, I tried to down my sorrows but even the morretti was flat and longing for a bubble or two! A visit to the loo was no better as both the gents and ladies was flooded! Save your cash or eat elsewhere, it was DIRE!!
