What a boozer this place is, we’re on a little evening trip from Leeds for Valentine’s Day and this place has one of the best atmospheres I’ve experienced in a pub. Roaring fire kept us warm, as it was cold and raining outside. Landlord had an incredible playlist of 90s/early 00s indie bangers on before karaoke started. Good selection of board games to keep entertained, and a good lineup of beers and ciders. Drinks were standard price, was about £9.50 for a pint of cider and black and a pint of ale. Proper homely feeling pub definitely worth the visit. They have a darts board too, which is always sign of a good pub - I’ll have to remember my arrows next time I’m up this way. Good beer, good music, roaring fire. 5/5 👍

Visited on Tuesday 12 November 2024. A very cozy Spoons with a lovely ambience. The food and drink were excellent and very well priced. The service was also very good. We expected the prices to be higher than your normal Spoons, considering how upmarket the area is. A well above average Wetherspoons establishment.

Called in for a drink of coffee , pleasant staff and coffee alright . We sat at the bottom of the cafe. We had been in about 20 minutes and in walked in a group of women with dogs , not happy about dogs in cafes or restaurants except guide dogs but these were big dogs and were allowed to sit on the soft bench seats near the bottom counter . I don’t think the staff should allow this . Dogs on floors is okay but not on the seats .

I have had prostate cancer and dropped into this branch of Costa in moderate need of a WC due to my condition. To access the facilities in this establishment you generally need a till receipt which gives you the door code. Well I certainly didn't have time for an immediate quick drink there so I just asked if I might please have the code. The barrister said that there was somebody already in the WC and that he would come out and let me in presently. I waited patiently outside the WC for the door bolt indicator to change from(well) white to white, but no-one came out so I left the establishment remembering that there is a MacDonalds across the lot. The staff and facilities at Mac Donald's are fantastic by comparison and their coffee wasn't too bad either. Please tell your friends this story as they might find it to be interesting. I will also book an appointment with my oncology consultant to get to the bottom (no pun I tended) of my problem. Sorry I can't give Costa any more stars. Due to the urgencies of nature I didn't get as far as actually ordering any food & drink in there. Best wishes. DB PS I have a McMillan cancer support card which the barrista may not have seen, but these can be useful for anyone needing priority access to facilities.
