Cafe Di Lucca in Harrogate

We waited over 15 minutes for two coffees and a scone, to many young staff on, clearly no idea what was happening. People who came in after us for takeaway served before us. Clearly training required.

This is a fabulous cafe with lovely staff and great home made food cooked fresh. Best coffee around. The courtyard is an attractive place to enjoy the café's food and drinks.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food reasonably priced

All meals very disappointing particularly the ploughman’s lunch which consisted of 2 slices of brown sliced bread, grated cheese , coleslaw, some pickle, pickled onions, a whole apple and a rather pathetic ‘salad’ definitely not worth the price charged. Probably by far the worst ploughman’s I had ever been served. Coffee was ok but not particularly hot.

I came in and waited patiently at the table. Serving staff saw me but made no attempt to come to the table.

This place is an absolute con, DO NOT EAT HERE!!! They charge nearly £8 for a bacon sandwich and take forever to make it. We ordered 2 drinks and the waitress walked over to the table, said nothing to us at all and just started handing hot drinks to me in my hands instead of putting them on. She was so rude it was insane too.

Lovely little cafe. Staff are all so lovely and friendly but professional. Food was lovely, lots of variety. And the hot chocolates are on another level! Highly recommend. Only let down were the toilets- they are seperate to the cafe and they give you a code to use.. they weren’t the cleanest!

We visited Knaresborough today and popped into Cafe di Lucca for lunch. Service was good and the food delicious! My husband had a BLT which was huge and came with coleslaw etc; I had scrambled eggs on gf bread which I really enjoyed. There was a really good range of meals on the menu so we were spoilt for choice. Recommended!

Lovely little coffee shop with undercover courtyard at rear. Busy, clean & friendly. We had cold drinks, tuna mayo wrap and chicken quesadillas. All tasty and fresh &!reasonably priced. Loved it.

Well was good for coffee but we went back for lunch, and had to wait forever, plus a dirty table, we asked for it to be cleaned, she did the sticky bit and left the rest which was just as bad, disappointed as good staff great coffee, but tables were left dirty for ages, I know they busy but no excuses for dirty tables, but the food is great

Very disappointing, we ordered tea and sandwiches which were lovely but it took forever to arrivre and our order arrived before 2 different customers who had ordered and paid before us. When the other customers asked the tall lady who seemed the most senior where their drinks were she snapped at both customers, she wasn't apologetic, she was very rude, defensive and rolled her eyes, when the customers sat back outside she then proceded to complain out loud to the customer at the till and those sat near the till about them. This was really uncomfortable and bad customer service. I think it's disorganisation which is ruining what is potentially a lovely cafe.

Very disappointing. Simply ordered a coke, strawberry milkshake and chips. Chips took forever and there was no sign of the drinks so I went to find out where they were. I get the feeling they had made the milkshake but had no idea who it was for. When I asked where my drinks were I was passed a glass of strawberry coloured liquid and a can of coke, no glass. The milkshake was just strawberry flavoured milk and tasted disgusting. Dont think I will bother again.

We popped over to knaresborough for a day out and discovered Cafe di Lucca and the nicest most helpful cafe owner and waiting staff you could wish to meet this along with excellent food and the best Millionairs shortbread i`ve ever had made for a great day out, i can`t recommend Cafe di Lucca enough.

Such a lovely visit to this cafe today, my husband has cancer and can only eat small portions and the lady was so kind when we explained and made him the most perfect small scrambled egg on toast. The ladies were both so kind and helpful, my lunch was lovely too. Thank you both for your lovely kind service, we can’t wait to come back Hayley & Terry x

Food was poor to say the least. The so called homemade ham in the wraps was plastic supermarket ham. Also not a lot of it. Won't be going back.

We received a very warm welcome today on a cold and snowy day. Coffee and fruit scones with jam were a good choice for our pit stop whilst visiting Knaresborough. Staff very friendly too!

The quality of food for the price was really poor. Cheap value coleslaw, tortilla wraps, grated cheap cheddar and Branston pickle for £7.

We should have been put off by the smell of cooking fat on entry! We ordered breakfast which was just ok and quite pricey for very ordinary food.

We called in here for a spot of lunch whilst exploring Knaresborough. Good menu and the service was great. Food was lovely, we just had sandwiches. The cakes on display looked amazing, but we didn't have any.

The staff were so lovely and the food is amazing! All home made which makes it even better!

Incredibly rude service. When I asked about ingredients to ensure my son with a severe milk allergy would be able to eat the food safely, I was informed with an angry smirk that she 'didn't have a clue what was in the sausages.' Despite the fact there is a sign asking customers to inform them of allergies. The sandwich then came with a side portion of coleslaw, which presumably contains cream. Really rude, spoilt our visit and we advise anyone else with allergies to consider (or let's face it, looking for service with a smile) to go somewhere else.

I’m sorry but your staff are so so rude. The woman at the front takes FOREVER to do anything. She put mine and my daughters drinks order through wrong. Then she came storming out and demanded to know if I ordered it, after explaining to the first member off staff it was wrong. No apology or admittance of her mistake. Food took forever and tbh wasn’t nice at all. My daughters spaghetti was absolutely burning hot…….like scalding. Even though it’s off the kids menu. The main problem you have though is honestly the rudeness of your staff. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

No teaspoons with drinks Could have cooked a Sunday roast by the time it came. No hot water for baby bottle, until we asked 3 times. Dairy milk instead of oat.

Our sandwiches were made will stale bread. The egg mayo on mine had almost no egg. We left because I didn't want to feed my child anything so bad.

Nice enough for a coffee and an ice cream but the menu is very limited with no stand out items, and knaresborough has many places that have better food and have a bit more 'individuality'. If you just want a coffee and cake it does the job. I note the latest reviews all seem to agree. Perhaps the owners should take note and try and improve by understanding the high standards set around them and market requirements in a competitive area. It is not somewhere I would avoid, indeed I like to support local businesses but it doesn't draw me in, and my kids prefer Marigolds!

Looked a nice shop but the staff was rude with no manners just didn't look like they wanted to work there the pulled pork came on toast so didn't make it a sandwich what I chose from the menu they forgot to put the bbq on aswell as the cheese wasn't happy didn't finish the food went next door to Subway

Sadly disappointed with service and drinks. This was our cafe of choice in Knaresborough, having been many times before for drinks and light meals. So was looking forward to revisiting post Covid. Service was lack lustre and the drinks average, including a very watered down...

Lovely cafe inside and plenty of seating outside at the front and at the back under cover in the courtyard. Unfortunately the homemade Victoria sponge was horrid, not cooked properly and very heavy. I did complain and it was kindly swapped, I chose toasted teacake which was lovely. My husband had a homemade scone that was delicious. My cup of coffee was OK but my husband said his was all froth, he only got a couple mouthfuls out of very small cups. So the coffee was not value for money at all. Went into Harrogate for a decent coffee.

I should have asked for the lady’s name who looked after my 4 year old daughter and I. My daughter was very upset as she was looking forward to her very first dance class and we turned up to find out we had been given the wrong date. To take her mind off it I had nipped in to cafe di lucca. The lady heard the story and went above and beyond to entertain Sylvia to cheer her up. It made her day and mine. She is still looking for the fairy. Thank you.

It was very busy so may go back when quieter and amend review. Drinks were finished well before the food arrived. Ham sandwich didnt have much ham in and the salad consisted of some iceberg lettuce that had seen better days and a slice of tomato. Staff looked unhappy.

Great buffet delivered for a surprise Retirement party. Various choices to suit everones tastes. All went down a treat. Thanks again. Would highly recommend!!

We were lucky enough to meet the owner whilst tucking in to some amazing cheesecake. She is a very special person and this is now our favourite place to go in Knaresborough.

After a good 8 mile walk, this cafe provided welcome relief. There is seating outside on the square but there is also an enclosed courtyard to the rear which is where we sat. We both had jacket potatoes and cake which were lovely and very reasonably priced. Its dog friendly as well. Well worth a visit and we will be returning

Really enjoyed the food. Three of us had a panini and all were delicious. My hard to please little boy had beans and cheese on toast and requested we come back every day for dinner! Really nice

We've stopped on a really sunny day for some toasted tea cakes and coffees. Even though it was really busy, the staff were really hard working and we didn't wait at all for our orders. The lady owner came and talked to us at the table, really friendly. We had a lovely time and we'll definitely come again when we're in the area. Thank you Cafe Di Lucca.

Stopped here for lunch. Friendly staff, nice clean establishment and the food was very nice. A larger portion of side salad would have been better but enjoyed what i had. I will definitely call in again when I'm in the area.

Great place to meet friends in central Knaresborough

Just popped in here for a bite to eat on a day out. Great friendly service and outstanding sandwiches, all 4 in the party are very leaving happy.

Gluten free lemon drizzle cake was a happy find! It’s rare to find a cafe that understands the need to avoid contamination from crumbs and this place gets it! I would definitely recommend for coeliacs and everyone else 😀

Daylight Robbery! Stopped by today for some lunch, ordered 2 Panini's, one Cheese and Ham, the other Cheese and Chorizo, also ordered a Yorkshire Tea and small glass of Coke, total Came to £16.05. Now for 16 odd pound i'd expect something a little more substantial than was was actually served, a small Ciabatta Roll half toasted, a single wafer thin slice of Ham and a sprinkle of half melted cheese, sided with an absolute pitiful excuse for a salad, which consisted of a single slice of tomato, a very small amount of diced Lettuce (which had started going brown) and a small dollop of coleslaw. The Cutlery was dirty, and so was my partners mug and teapot. For the price, i did not expect such a low standard of food, nor the small portions. Save yourself the money, and Just go the Subway literally 20 feet away from the cafe, a full footlong Sub with a drink for less than a Third of the Price what i paid here.

Ammended due to response from owner, as the coffee was welcome and the staff were friendly and kind. Very sorry to report that this cafe is NOT covid secure. We visited yesterday and sadly were witness to two problematic incidents in a very short period of time. There were two women and a younger boy running the cafe. The woman serving was only wearing a visor with no mask, which is not covid secure but then two young adults arrived without masks, menus were given to them outside which was fine, but, (both of from the scientifically proven group with a high incidence of infection) unfortunately the mask less couple were then invited inside to place and wait for their order, although sensibly the young man declined. A family of four were also invited inside to keep warm, lovely kind act BUT......Staff training required we think!

At there today. Had “creamy garlic” mushrooms on toast. Cream had curdled. My wife had ban “ sandwich” ( panini bread) bacon was not cooked through and bread had benn thawed from frozen and was wet. Probably one of the worst servings of food I have had in a long time! Pot of tea was good and service was friendly.

Coffee Latte was gorgeous But the cheese scones not so much, they warmed them up in the microwave (why) without asking us and they were just awful, one big claggy mess and it was difficult to eat them. At £10 for 2 coffees and 2 scones we left very disappointed Please ask your customers lf they want them heated up

Visited Knaresborough for a little trip out and came across this gorgeous little cafe. How this is only 4 stars i will never know! I had a lovely cup of tea and some of the most amazing ginger cake I have ever tried. Everything is homemade and you can tell the love that is poured into this place. Definitely will come back again. Amazing food, proper coffee, try it won't be disappointed.

Well - what can I say - this place is absolutely fabulous. My wife, stepson and partner went here today and saw this little gem in the town square as a relief from the usual eateries selling coffee and cakes. We were not disappointed AT ALL - there is a wonderful continental feel to it - al fresco seating on the street, indoor eating or a beautiful courtyard - take your pick. The best flat white this side of Florence and cakes to die for - we got a ginger cake and we were fighting over the last piece - it is honestly one of the best places to eat or drink in Yorkshire. If you want to go somewhere for the best hospitality, food and coffee - go here! You will not be disappointed - you feel so safe if you are worried about covid, there is a one way system in place and everyone is masked up - just a lovely place - go here or you will regret it!!!

Service was fantastic lovely fresh moist cakes and some lovely proper coffee ☕. Cannot fault a thing.

Stopped for lunch we each had a panini, which were tasty. Latte really hot. Staff very friendly, lots of locals as well which is always a good sign. Dog friendly, she was given a gravy bone biscuit as well! One way system, felt Covid safe.

Lovely lunch with the kids. The kids just had cake and drinks but it was very fresh and tasty. I had the club sandwich which was delicious. My son tried a bit and said the bacon was the best he had ever had. The cafe was busy but service was good. Lovely place and will be back.

Popped in after a morning's exploration and needed reviving - the excellent chocolate cake and chocolate milkshake certainly did the trick and the staff were friendly and chatty. Definitely recommend it.
