I ordered the Mac n cheese. The garlic bread was nice. However the macaroni was not very delish. It was not really unpleasant, but if I could choose again I wouldn’t choose to order the Mac n Cheese.

While visiting a friend in North Yorkshire, we went to Knaresborough and had a late breakfast/brunch at the Cafe Di Lucca. The service was excellent! The young women at the counter, whose names I didn't get, sadly, were attentive, polite, courteous and came across very professionally. I understand that one was learning the ropes on the till but was still very good. Smiles and attentiveness were abundant. The weekend manager, David, is a really nice guy and he managed to find a few moments to come and sit at our table for a lovely chat. He clearly enjoys working there. Leanne had a quick chat, too, and she was very good with the gluten-free aspects. The food was superb. I had a large cooked breakfast (minus sausages), our friend had a small one, and my wife had a BLT; all very satisfactory and tasty. We had a plentiful supply of drinks (two each and we declined the offer of a third). I was watching the staff and their interaction with other customers and there was a lovely 'vibe' in the place; and all the food coming out of the kitchen looked scrumptious! It is a very nice establishment and we found it, reassuringly, very clean and tidy. Empty tables were cleared very promptly. With my Craig Revel Horwood hat on (boo!), I noticed that there were "free wifi" signs displayed, but we had to ask David for the password, which he kindly wrote on a piece of paper, for us. Perhaps this could have been displayed for ease of customer use, but you might have valid reasons for not doing so. All in all, we had a great late breakfast and, the next time we find ourselves in Knaresborough, we will be calling in again! Oh, and it was good value for money! I thoroughly recommend a visit here; and, if you’re visiting the castle, the Cafe Di Lucca is ideally located.

Just had a beautiful breakfast, with friends from Gloucester in Café Deluca, in Knaresborough market Square. David the weekend manager came and shared a little time with us at the table. Had a lovely chat. Food was really lovely, coffee of excellent quality and was really good value. Leeann came and checked twice about Gluten Free. Smashing !

We come to the cafe most weeks. Not only is the food excellent but the warm friendly welcome and kind staff make the experience an absolute pleasure. Today macaroni cheese. Always so tasty. The homemade soup is also a favourite of ours. Gill and Anita

Lovely, friendly staff. Busy café in the centre. Has some outdoor seating to the front on the pavement and more seating at the back of the café in a covered courtyard. I had a pot of spicy chai and a piece of cake. Children's menu available. Loo is at the back of the premises in the courtyard via a coded door. Friendly service, I'd revisit for a brew.

I visit this cafe at least once a week. Today I ordered some chips priced at 2.95.asked for some bread and butter also priced 2.95..This makes a chip.butty 6 pounds not value For money compared with other options on the menu.nice food but disappointed customer

Fòod was excellent and good value for money. I had chili and rice and my guests had fab sandwiches with fresh salad accompaniment. Coffees were very good. Service was friendly, polite and efficient. The young staff are a credit to this establishment. Our visit here made our day. I rarely post reviews but the praise is richly deserved.

Unfortunately, really poor quality ingredients and tasteless sandwiches made for a disappointing lunch. Wouldn't recommend.

After a 6 mile walk, we were hungry for lunch and the menu here looked great. Unfortunately the food doesn't live up to the menu. Despite specifically saying on the menu that the sausage sandwich has "three sausages", only two turned up and they were pretty tasteless. The Quiche Lorraine was stale and chewy and served with the tiniest portion of coleslaw. Poor value for money too. Sadly, we wouldn't recommend.

Can highly recommend the Mac n cheese. Some of the best I've tasted! Made on site and a joy to eat. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Went in for a flat white coffee. I wanted to support an independent coffee shop instead of one of the chains. What a mistake, inspite of this shop having a proper coffee machine, it tasted no better than an instant Nescafé coffee, but still the same price as Costa or Nero. Disgusting overpriced coffee. Do yourself a favour if you want coffee go a few steps across the courtyard.

Very disappointed indeed. I went in for a flat white coffee thinking I was doing the right thing, by supporting an independent coffee shop rather than a chain. I was cheated!! The coffee tasted disgusting and inspite of them having a proper coffee machine, this coffee was more like an instant coffee by Nescafé. I was charged the same as Nero or Costa, but received a coffee nowhere as good Do yourself a favour and go across the courtyard instead for a decent coffee

Location in enclosed courtyard was great but unfortunately the food was well below par. The quiche Lorraine was hard to cut and chew whilst the chicken Caesar salad was of poor quality. Unfortunately, one of the worst meals we’ve had for some time.

Paid £8 for this take away gluten free tuna melt. Only gluten free bread was sliced bread, which was fine, until I had a bite and the bread had sultanas in it? Imagine having a tuna melt on a hot cross bun and paying £8 for it. :/

We waited over 15 minutes for two coffees and a scone, to many young staff on, clearly no idea what was happening. People who came in after us for takeaway served before us. Clearly training required.

This is a fabulous cafe with lovely staff and great home made food cooked fresh. Best coffee around. The courtyard is an attractive place to enjoy the café's food and drinks.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food reasonably priced

All meals very disappointing particularly the ploughman’s lunch which consisted of 2 slices of brown sliced bread, grated cheese , coleslaw, some pickle, pickled onions, a whole apple and a rather pathetic ‘salad’ definitely not worth the price charged. Probably by far the worst ploughman’s I had ever been served. Coffee was ok but not particularly hot.

I came in and waited patiently at the table. Serving staff saw me but made no attempt to come to the table.

This place is an absolute con, DO NOT EAT HERE!!! They charge nearly £8 for a bacon sandwich and take forever to make it. We ordered 2 drinks and the waitress walked over to the table, said nothing to us at all and just started handing hot drinks to me in my hands instead of putting them on. She was so rude it was insane too.

Lovely little cafe. Staff are all so lovely and friendly but professional. Food was lovely, lots of variety. And the hot chocolates are on another level! Highly recommend. Only let down were the toilets- they are seperate to the cafe and they give you a code to use.. they weren’t the cleanest!

We visited Knaresborough today and popped into Cafe di Lucca for lunch. Service was good and the food delicious! My husband had a BLT which was huge and came with coleslaw etc; I had scrambled eggs on gf bread which I really enjoyed. There was a really good range of meals on the menu so we were spoilt for choice. Recommended!

Lovely little coffee shop with undercover courtyard at rear. Busy, clean & friendly. We had cold drinks, tuna mayo wrap and chicken quesadillas. All tasty and fresh &!reasonably priced. Loved it.

Well was good for coffee but we went back for lunch, and had to wait forever, plus a dirty table, we asked for it to be cleaned, she did the sticky bit and left the rest which was just as bad, disappointed as good staff great coffee, but tables were left dirty for ages, I know they busy but no excuses for dirty tables, but the food is great

Very disappointing, we ordered tea and sandwiches which were lovely but it took forever to arrivre and our order arrived before 2 different customers who had ordered and paid before us. When the other customers asked the tall lady who seemed the most senior where their drinks were she snapped at both customers, she wasn't apologetic, she was very rude, defensive and rolled her eyes, when the customers sat back outside she then proceded to complain out loud to the customer at the till and those sat near the till about them. This was really uncomfortable and bad customer service. I think it's disorganisation which is ruining what is potentially a lovely cafe.

Very disappointing. Simply ordered a coke, strawberry milkshake and chips. Chips took forever and there was no sign of the drinks so I went to find out where they were. I get the feeling they had made the milkshake but had no idea who it was for. When I asked where my drinks were I was passed a glass of strawberry coloured liquid and a can of coke, no glass. The milkshake was just strawberry flavoured milk and tasted disgusting. Dont think I will bother again.

We popped over to knaresborough for a day out and discovered Cafe di Lucca and the nicest most helpful cafe owner and waiting staff you could wish to meet this along with excellent food and the best Millionairs shortbread i`ve ever had made for a great day out, i can`t recommend Cafe di Lucca enough.

Such a lovely visit to this cafe today, my husband has cancer and can only eat small portions and the lady was so kind when we explained and made him the most perfect small scrambled egg on toast. The ladies were both so kind and helpful, my lunch was lovely too. Thank you both for your lovely kind service, we can’t wait to come back Hayley & Terry x

Food was poor to say the least. The so called homemade ham in the wraps was plastic supermarket ham. Also not a lot of it. Won't be going back.

We received a very warm welcome today on a cold and snowy day. Coffee and fruit scones with jam were a good choice for our pit stop whilst visiting Knaresborough. Staff very friendly too!

The quality of food for the price was really poor. Cheap value coleslaw, tortilla wraps, grated cheap cheddar and Branston pickle for £7.

We called in here for a spot of lunch whilst exploring Knaresborough. Good menu and the service was great. Food was lovely, we just had sandwiches. The cakes on display looked amazing, but we didn't have any.

We should have been put off by the smell of cooking fat on entry! We ordered breakfast which was just ok and quite pricey for very ordinary food.

The staff were so lovely and the food is amazing! All home made which makes it even better!

Incredibly rude service. When I asked about ingredients to ensure my son with a severe milk allergy would be able to eat the food safely, I was informed with an angry smirk that she 'didn't have a clue what was in the sausages.' Despite the fact there is a sign asking customers to inform them of allergies. The sandwich then came with a side portion of coleslaw, which presumably contains cream. Really rude, spoilt our visit and we advise anyone else with allergies to consider (or let's face it, looking for service with a smile) to go somewhere else.

I’m sorry but your staff are so so rude. The woman at the front takes FOREVER to do anything. She put mine and my daughters drinks order through wrong. Then she came storming out and demanded to know if I ordered it, after explaining to the first member off staff it was wrong. No apology or admittance of her mistake. Food took forever and tbh wasn’t nice at all. My daughters spaghetti was absolutely burning hot…….like scalding. Even though it’s off the kids menu. The main problem you have though is honestly the rudeness of your staff. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

No teaspoons with drinks Could have cooked a Sunday roast by the time it came. No hot water for baby bottle, until we asked 3 times. Dairy milk instead of oat.

Our sandwiches were made will stale bread. The egg mayo on mine had almost no egg. We left because I didn't want to feed my child anything so bad.

Nice enough for a coffee and an ice cream but the menu is very limited with no stand out items, and knaresborough has many places that have better food and have a bit more 'individuality'. If you just want a coffee and cake it does the job. I note the latest reviews all seem to agree. Perhaps the owners should take note and try and improve by understanding the high standards set around them and market requirements in a competitive area. It is not somewhere I would avoid, indeed I like to support local businesses but it doesn't draw me in, and my kids prefer Marigolds!

Looked a nice shop but the staff was rude with no manners just didn't look like they wanted to work there the pulled pork came on toast so didn't make it a sandwich what I chose from the menu they forgot to put the bbq on aswell as the cheese wasn't happy didn't finish the food went next door to Subway

Lovely cafe inside and plenty of seating outside at the front and at the back under cover in the courtyard. Unfortunately the homemade Victoria sponge was horrid, not cooked properly and very heavy. I did complain and it was kindly swapped, I chose toasted teacake which was lovely. My husband had a homemade scone that was delicious. My cup of coffee was OK but my husband said his was all froth, he only got a couple mouthfuls out of very small cups. So the coffee was not value for money at all. Went into Harrogate for a decent coffee.

I should have asked for the lady’s name who looked after my 4 year old daughter and I. My daughter was very upset as she was looking forward to her very first dance class and we turned up to find out we had been given the wrong date. To take her mind off it I had nipped in to cafe di lucca. The lady heard the story and went above and beyond to entertain Sylvia to cheer her up. It made her day and mine. She is still looking for the fairy. Thank you.

It was very busy so may go back when quieter and amend review. Drinks were finished well before the food arrived. Ham sandwich didnt have much ham in and the salad consisted of some iceberg lettuce that had seen better days and a slice of tomato. Staff looked unhappy.

Great buffet delivered for a surprise Retirement party. Various choices to suit everones tastes. All went down a treat. Thanks again. Would highly recommend!!

We were lucky enough to meet the owner whilst tucking in to some amazing cheesecake. She is a very special person and this is now our favourite place to go in Knaresborough.

After a good 8 mile walk, this cafe provided welcome relief. There is seating outside on the square but there is also an enclosed courtyard to the rear which is where we sat. We both had jacket potatoes and cake which were lovely and very reasonably priced. Its dog friendly as well. Well worth a visit and we will be returning
