Really great service and food here - quite intimate inside, but in a very friendly and welcoming way. The food was excellent quality and a very fair price. The bar was well stocked and really friendly staff and local patrons making us feel very welcome.

We sat downstairs, great atmosphere with really attentive but respectful staff. All really smart with fantastic customer service. We had two fabulous courses, starter and main (Sunday roast) wish we had room for a desert. Thank you for a superb lunch, we will be back.

Booked 6.15pm as next available table was 20.45. I was looking forward to eating here but it was more like a pub with over inflated prices. We had a little tiny table away from other diners. We went for the early bird menu with an average Pinot for £30. Starters were nice, we both had the sea bass which was overcooked and dry. Sticky toffee pudding was served cold. Shocked by the bill with 10% service charge. Overall not a nice dining experience, had better food in other restaurant’s.

Lovely ambiance in the downstairs area. Starter and main were very nice although would probably chose differently next time. Apple crumble was very poor but custard saved it slightly. Steak & Chips with cherry ice cream for next visit. I may even have the spicy prawns again too!

William & Victoria had lovely food and superb service. We arrived and had no reservation, but they fit us in. We wanted fish pie. They didn’t have it on Sunday. The staff was kind enough to ask the chef. Much to my surprise the chef prepared a lovely fish pie specially for us. My wife had the lamb which could be eaten without a knife , falling off the bone. I can’t compliment the staff enough. Everyone was so helpful, smiling and pleasant. It does my heart good to see such mature young people. That all understood what it takes to run a successful business, where people will want to return again and again. I’m American but I believe you Brits say proper and Brilliant.

We had a really nice evening this week while away on a work conference. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service friendly and attentive and the food really very good. It was one of the best meals I’ve had for the money in the last few years. Would 100% recommend.

Great place. Full of friendly people enjoying the cosy atmosphere , good food & impeccable service. Nothing is too much trouble. I had the tasty Shepherds pie & my Sister had the curry.

Incredible food, and really friendly, helpful staff. The chicken liver paté starter I had was possibly the best I've ever eaten (they do not serve tiny portions here, so I was glad I ordered extra toast), and the venison wellington I had for my main was cooked perfectly 10/10 👌. My girlfriend had the fishcake and then the duck, and said that if they hadn't been so good, she'd have been gutted not to have ordered what I did! She cleared both courses plus sides (something she rarely does unless the food is truly exceptional), and we both had dessert which I don't think we've both done for at least 3 years. A special mention to one of the serving staff, Kane (I hope I've spelled that correctly), who brought us some some incredible cocktails to finish off a genuinely amazing meal.

Delicious Sunday lunch . I had the veggie option with cauliflower cheese and husband had the beef .Will definitely return next time we visit Harrogate and would recommend.

A group of 10 for dinner on Saturday - superb service from our arrival at the bar to the meal itself. Delicious food across a wide selection of the menu and everyone enjoyed their choices. Will definitely be back.

We were recommended to eat here by a friend of ours. We were seated on what I can say was a very small low table crammed in to a corner. Not a very comfortable setting in which to enjoy an evening meal. The food was OK, however the chips were very dark, tasteless and overcooked. We decided to order a dessert, took one spoonfull, which revealed a very long hair. We did point this out to the staff that just said they wouldn't charge us for it. Needless to say not the best of experiences

Terrible experience, waiters running around like headless flys, soft drinks weren’t stored in the fridge making them flat. Chicken came pink and had to wait five minutes before they brought the apple sauce requested. Wouldn’t attend again, heard really good things but fell way below expectation.

Absolutely beautiful food! After a bit of a mix up and some confusion we got the best roast dinner I’ve ever had. The staff were very kind and apologetic, would 100% recommend and would return for Sunday lunch again to try the roast potatoes! 5*!

Very nice meal in this atmospheric restaurant. Our waitress went above and beyond with our many questions. If she didn't know the answer she went to find out. All this with a smile and great service. The food was delicious.

We had our wedding breakfast at W&V. Booked the private dining room for 24 people and it was absolutely perfect. Rosie was professional and incredibly helpful in the preparations, including adjusting the menu to give us more vegetarian and vegan options. On the day, the room looked absolutely stunning, the food was utterly delicious and the service was perfect. We really cannot recommend highly enough!

Fabulous little wine bar/restaurant close to the centre of Harrogate. The service was great, both the red and white wines tried were very drinkable and the food was lovely.

I have been for various group meals to W&V’s . The service is always exceptional with food & drink orders brought out promptly. The food is always delicious and the portion sizes generous. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others !

So I am from Harrogate but moved to Korea, came in for a few drinks speaking to staff which were very nice, especially a young gentleman, didn’t catch his name but the people who are in the restaurant were quite appalling, calling people from Asia racial slurs and questing my job, I did say to the staff I probably wouldn’t be back but i guess I’d have to give it a chance when it comes to food! But they definitely need to sort out their clientele.

Have been here several times now and the food and service have always been consistently good. Would he my first recommendation for anyone wanting great food in Harrogate. Good value for great British food

There are tables set outside with seats but they will not serve outside this evening. Why the tables? No explanation. Rather poor service then their excellent standards.

Went for dinner last night,while on weekend away with my mum,the food was beautiful :) Had the home made pie from the specials, Although we don't live in Harrogate, whenever we visit,this is somewhere we often visit :)

Stunning wine and dine experience at Harrogate’s longest running wine bar. Our first visit in 1989 was delightful and last week's catch up with friends every bit as impressive. Expect simple, classic dishes celebrating Yorkshire produce. Select from the Early Bird menu until 6.30pm which offers a terrific choice from only £18 for two courses. The short rib, Guinness & mushroom pie was outstanding although the popular haddock & chips did not quite reach the heights set by Bradley's the following night. Sorry, guys. Arrive early to drink with locals at the bar whilst your table is prepared. Be first to hear all the town's gossip before dinner or perhaps share a tale or two of your own. Booking recommended.

We had a lovely early evening meal here. Good range and selection of choice on the menu.., plus a specials board. Nice cozy feel to the place. A good atmosphere, with bustling bar area. Good ingredients used. Good cooking with a nice light touch on the seasoning. Friendly attentive service. A great experience.

William & Vics is a Harrogate institution, and well deserved too. The atmosphere is warm, friendly & cosy, the staff are outstanding & the food is brilliant. The early-bird deal is great value. Highly recommend. 👍

Booked a family lunch for 6. What a great afternoon. Service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. And the food was excellent - big portions. 4 of us had the Rib-eye steaks which were fabulous. The Hake was a good portion and the short rib was really succulent. The wine list was good with some great value wines. Great memories. Would highly recommend

Noted other diners and it looked excellent. Arrived for lunch at 2pm. Short wait for a table, should have booked. Close attention from the staff. Lovely selection of drinks and menu’s catering for all. Selected from the main menu, skipped starters and into the Ribeye steak for me and Ckicken Tikka for my wife. Superb. Disappointed at sweets, Rhubarb crumble sold out so settled for the chocolate brownie. Strongly recommend you visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Best Restaurant I have been for a long time . Lovely welcome soon as we walked through the door . Had our Glass of champagne , at the bar . Our table was lovely , the wine arrived in a ice bucket ice cold. The food Wow slow cooked Rib of beef , melted in my mouth . Been waiting to go to Will and Vics for ages but it gets booked up so quick in advance (now we know why!) We managed to get a cancellation on Saturday night, their loss was our gain! We were warmly greeted as soon as we walk through the door, provided with drinks menu and recommended the sparkling Italian wine, as they do not do Prosecco and it was far nicer than prosecco anyway, (highly recommend) we enjoyed two bottles! The service was spot on, staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive as it’s a small restaurant. Main courses were both delicious we had the short rib of beef and lamb henry, meat on both fell apart, no need for a knife, so tender and flavoursome, red wine sauce was amazing, both served with veg and mash but I asked for more veg instead of mash, which they accommodated. My husband ordered a side of home made chips, they were fabulous, Im not a fan of home made chips but these were so good, super crispy on outside and soft in middle! From start to finish the experience was impeccable, Will and Vics is up there, one of the best in Harrogate, we will return (when we can get booked in)!!

Had dinner here this evening whilst visiting Harrogate for a few days. The food was exceptional, reasonably priced, and very good customer service. Couldn't fault this place; such a lovely cosy atmosphere and credit to the chef(s), as the the food and drinks were 10/10. Will definitely return when we are next in Harrogate!

We went to Will and Vics for my partners birthday in March 2024. We live in Harrogate and this place is by far, our favourite place to eat out. The food is consistently exceptional and the service is discreet which makes the restaurant feel cosy and welcoming. I wouldn’t waste your time or energy going anywhere else. William and Victoria’s has it all, I’d highly recommend it.

Good atmosphere for birthday treat.

I live in Luxembourg and I am visiting my mother in Harrogate. We enjoyed an excellent dinner. The food was excellent and my fillet steak was cooked to perfection. Great meat. Very attentive staff and an efficient service. Great selection of wines too. This is not my first visit and won't be my last. I hope to fit in another visit on this UK trip. Keep up the great work William & Victoria. I will highly recommend.

We came on 18th February for Sunday Dinner and can only say that the service was first class and the food was awsome and we would recommend to anyone.

Lovely little warm and cosy restaurant, reminiscent of a classic no frills NY steakhouse with wooden booths and candles, etc. We were actually recommended it by a random guy in a local pub and were not disappointed. Great value and a lovely atmosphere - we could have stayed here all night. We both had steak, which was cooked to perfection along with some beautiful sides. Will definitely return next time we're in town!

A lovely throw back to the restaurants of old. A pre-war feel, excellent old world wine selection and stable menu with everything one would want in an eatery. Nothing outrageous or adventurous on the menu but a strong show nonetheless.

Visited last night and took advantage of the early bird menu. Outstanding value and quality. Portions are not reduced and very generous. We had crispy chilli beef, fish chowder soup and both had home made chicken, ham and mushroom pie. Quite busy for early on a Thursday which is always a good sign. Yes service is very prompt and efficient. If you want a little extra time between courses I’d suggest asking when ordering. Fine for us but some may seem rushed.

First class dinner as always at William and Victoria. This restaurant has really stood the test of time. It's been a premiere destination in Harrogate for years, and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Food, atmosphere and service are all excellent.

Went last night to celebrate my wife’s birthday but we are regulars. Fantastic food and service as usual. Best food in Harrogate and there are some very good restaurants.

Lovely atmosphere, was always my first choice locally for family dinners and special occasions. However, on the previous three visits, vegetarian options have been pitiful. With a couple of veggies in the family, this now means we need to find a new haunt. Shame.

The most delicious meal we have eaten in a long while. The food was so tasty, very special. The service was faultless. The young waiters knew the menu inside out and were so helpful and attentive. If you're in Harrogate, this treat is not to be missed.

Beautiful food - disappointing experience. Can't fault the food - the chicken livers were cooked beautifully - the devilled kidneys to die for and the Shepherds Pie the best we've had. However, the whole experience was rushed and stressful. From the minute we walked in , the owner and another member of staff were rushing around and creating a really tense atmosphere making us feel very unwelcome. I had said on booking that this was a wedding anniversary celebration. In fact it was our 30th. Having visited before we were looking forward to a lovely evening. Unfortunately we were rushed through both courses. Ignored when asking for condiments. Glasses wipped away before we'd finished. A lovely young lady brought our bill and was very sympathetic with our disappointment. She said she would remove the drinks from our bill. However when she spoke to the owner this was apparently overruled as it didn't happen. We were so looking forward to our evening at William and Victoria. But the whole experience was rushed and tense. Such a shame as the food is outstanding

A Harrogate institution but on my last visit the table service was a bit confused, over eager to please but failing to see obvious oversights. I also found it odd to be served a main course with the gravy boat on the dinner plate surrounded by gravy. Food pretty good but not exceptional and an obviously mass-produced bought-in Christmas pudding was very disappointing.

Came for my birthday on the 18th December from grimsby and stayed at the hilton majestic been to William and Victoria every time we come to Harrogate food amazing service is second to non and thoroughly loved it and I will be back to eat here again next year keep doing what your doing it's brilliant 👏 X

Not the best, unfortunately. Don't want to elbracate as management tried to put things right by offering to cover our table drinks . We had a nice time as our family were together at a special time if year.

Just called in on speck for a drink on the way to next door restaurant, Bar area quite small but with a nice atmosphere. Gentleman behind the bar was very polite and welcoming and on our next visit to Harrogate will definitely return for a beer.

Lovely meal with great choices . Starters we had the lamb kidneys , prawns and a crispy duck all excellent. Mains were venison Wellington, ribeye and the chicken breast all cooked perfectly and decent sized portions. Drinks were very reasonable too. Great service from the staff without being intrusive. We wouldn't hesitate to go back. Busy too for a Monday which demonstrates it's a popular destination.

We had lunch for 20 yesterday, in one of the private dining rooms, to celebrate a family member's big birthday, and it was just perfect. Rosie attended to our every need, plus a few we didn't know we needed, and the food was outstanding as always. Thank you, Will & Vics!

Gorgeous place with amazing food. I had the Venison Wellington, which was really delicious.

Came with a couple of business colleagues for dinner, good menu with some specials as well, good mix of dishes. Food was excellent and came relatively quickly, nice wines as well.

Nice atmosphere, good food, staff very good, but was too noisy for me. I am partially deaf, also could not converse with my friends, but for all the other plusses, I would most definitely go there for a meal again. As for most bars, restaurants in Harrogate, prices are not cheap, but I don't mind paying that but extra for good food, etc.

Had an excellent meal with excellent wine. Have read a lot of good reviews and it lived up to expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Dined here for a birthday Sunday lunch, service was none existant. All members of my party commented on how poor it was. Luckily the kitchen were doing a good job and we all ate well. Will be unlikely to return.

Super fast and attentive service, despite being a busy Friday evening! Very cosy and tasteful space, since we dined downstairs in the pub/bar area. We got the Early Bird Special, which was a great deal considering the quality of the food! Had some haddock arancini with truffle mayo as starter, Grilled Sea Bass as main and Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert.

Great food, early bird 2 course deal well presented. Great Decor, however Daniel Craig stares at you from the poster on the wall in the ladies, a bit unnerving.

Food OK, but what really made an impression was a staggeringly rude waiter. Food and wine literally thrown at us; monosyllabic interactions; with an arrogance and attitude that was (at best) unprofessional…..which he managed to keep going all evening!

We always make a point of visiting the William & Victoria whenever we are in Harrogate. This time it was for Sunday lunch and everything was as enjoyable as ever. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.

First visit to V&W I had tried to eat here previously but had the opening times wrong, so I was pleased to finally get in for a meal. We didn't book and the restaurant was very busy at 7.45pm however we decided to stay and have a drink whilst we waited for a table to come free, we nearly left, I'm glad we didn't the food was excellent and worth the wait. Excellent bar service whilst we waited the atmosphere was excellent bustling but that didn't affect our table service. The food we ordered came quickly and was light bites as Mum was flying abroad in the early hours and didn't want a full meal. so, we ordered the Prawn & Avocado Cocktail, Fish Cake & Tempura Prawns to share (ish) everything was spot on fresh and tasty. I'm not a lover of peppers which were in the fish cake I would have preferred Spring Onion as an alternative ingredient, but it didn't detract from the overall taste. Mum loved the Prawn cocktail, and the Tempura Prawns were delicious, I'm already planning my next visit and would highly recommend as being local I've eaten in most other establishments in Harrogate, and this is my clear favorite so far...

Great for a Sunday lunch and a few drinks highly recommend. The dessert wasn't the best but the main and starters definitely made up for it!

It was a very hot night and all the tables outside were occupied, as were most of the tables inside. We were very cordially greeted by Charlie Straker and shown to a table for two in the bar area. There is a comprehensive menu and also a good selection of daily specials. My husband had the devilled lambs kidneys as a starter - something he loves and rarely comes across on menus. He then had a king prawn linguine from the specials menu. I have a small appetite and was more than content with a starter portion of Moules Mariniere and a side order of homemade chips. The starter portions were generous and the moules were plump and delicious. My husband loved both his dishes. With a bottle of Versant Viognier the bill came to £76.35 and it was well worth it! Excellent service from professional staff too!

Very nice restaurant. Great service and very good food. We had ribeye steak and tuna mains only. Both very good. Nice atmosphere if you like it busy and noisy. Definitely worth a visit and will be back.

Entertaining with friends at the weekend and this was our go-to favourite restaurant. It did not disappoint from the welcome at the bar to the service and amazing food - the favourites were the devil kidneys, duck salad, roast beef and the tuna !! All meals were exceptional. The time spent talking and choosing the wine just made the evening all the more enjoyable. Thank you !!

We dined at Will and Vic's on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We advised David behind the bar of our wine preferences and budget and he delivered perfect wines! The food portions were very generous for the prices and tasted amazing! Highly recommend !

I thought I had posted this at the time, but got a bit distracted. Having read such moany reviews recently , I felt I had to post my review as a long standing very, very happy client. We have been going William and Victoria for over 30 years. It's one of our absolute favourite places to dine. So much so that when we married on Valentines day this year(2023) , Will & Vic's was the only choice for our wedding lunch. Fabulous choice on the menu, there were 21 of us in total, the service was extemporary and the meal was the usual fabulous quality and standard that we always have enjoyed. Well done David and your team, continued quality and service with happy smiling faces. See you in a week!!

Sunday dinner was poor - beef was rubbery and fatty Garlic mushrooms were without garlic I don’t like giving bad reviews - we were looking forward to the experience and had read other reviews - think they need to source the beef from somewhere else as worse piece of beef I’ve had in a restaurant

Having read all the reviews we thought it would be a treat to eat here. The food was of a good standard & portion size, however we were let down in the fact it was more like eating in a small pub, unlike the photos shown on the website. The young gentleman waiters tried there best but a bit sloppy on table service. Shame it could have been a better experience

Disappointment regarding the amount of food served. We went for a meal. Just under £100 bill. Looked like Michelin Star didn't taste like it. I didn't want a Michelin Star meal. I wanted a real meal Just very very disappointed

We went to try the food prior to booking a table for a birthday celebration. We opted for the special lunch menu. The service was fast and efficient. We had attentive staff at all times. The food was tasty and the whole experience was pleasant.

We arrived when the inside was all fully booked but were offered either an outdoor table or a bench at the bar. We opted for the outdoor table which worked really well - it’s next to the road but didn’t feel too busy (Friday evening). Waiters were all super attentive throughout, felt very well looked after, especially when we asked to move along by one table when it started to rain and the waiter without prompting re-organised the new table to put it right under the heat lamp and to set it up for 2 rather than 4 - perfect! Food was fantastic - pork belly was the best I’ve had - lots of meat with little fat and large piece of crackling on top, and the hake was also great. Nicely finished with a cheeseboard to share and a great bottle of wine!
