Usually a great experience but I had a few hiccups on Easter Sunday: 1. I booked online and requested a table in the bar, yet, on arrival they said the booking was for the conservatory (which I'm not keen on as it feels canteen-like and not very homely). The man was fine though and did give us a table in the bar. 2. When ordering food I was told only the Easter menu was being served which was a 2 or 3 course menu. However, online, I'd been asked to select the Easter or the Sunday menu (which I was pleased about as I normally only eat a main course). So, we had to eat 2 courses. 3. When my husband asked what non-alcoholic beers they served, he was told "Go and have a look in the fridge. We've got loads". We expect bar staff to know what drinks they sell and, even if they can't name them all, be able to at least tell us the main ones, not to have to walk about 15 feet around the bar to look for myself. 4. One of our party had Carrot and coriander soup which was lovely but, he'd only had two mouthfuls when a waitress brought out 2 of the roast lamb shoulder main courses. I told her he wasn't finished the first course yet and she apologised and took them away. She did apologise again when we were ready for the main course. 5. For the main course, all 3 of us had roast lamb shoulder and, frankly, for two of us, the lamb was overcooked and dry. (It tasted as if it had been re-heated and not fresh). In the past, we've had lamb there and it has always been exceptionally well cooked. The mint sauce, served in cute little pots, was also very watery. 6. Desserts: - Sticky toffee pudding was extremely good with perfect sponge, and beautiful sauce which was not too sweet. Cinnamon Apple crumble with custard was fabulous with a lovely crunchy topping. It was so big though - easily big enough for 2 people. Thd decor in the bar is lovely and cosy, yet dark and modern. All in all, the food was okay but the lamb is usually to die for and hopefully it will be again next time.

Tbh we had heard great reviews about this pub. But we visited on Weds dinner time and we were not Impressed tbh. Told to find a table and sit at it, most were reserved or either sat at. App crashed twice on us to order, so went to the bar, the girl was really unhelpful I found and trying to explain what I wanted was hard work. No fish either so had to order something different. Wife had the gammon and wasnât impressed with it at all. The x2 beers the young girl poured us were terrible, more froth and head than anything. No carvery until after 1:30pm We wonât be rushing back here for anything soon sorry. Itâs a shame as the starling bird in Aber which is the same company is brilliant.

Absolutely flawless Sunday lunch, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere! Brought my friend yesterday for a very belated birthday treat as Iâd visited before and you guys did not disappoint! The service was excellent, all the ladies who served us were so friendly and lovely and the food was absolutely flawless (I eat at Tom Kerridgeâs when Iâm in London and I commented that the Manorâs Sunday lunch was better!) The food was cooked perfectly and the cauliflower cheese was lush! Desserts of sticky toffee pudding and cookie ice cream were delicious too and we had a wonderful afternoon with beautiful food catching up and taking it all in. Thank you all so very muchâŠweâll definitely be back! Ps thank you for the little one extra birthday treat for my friend!

Took the children for an Easter treat and it was shocking. Ordered 2 unicorn monster shakes which should have been strawberry and bubblegum and a Eton mess monster shake. Both were flavourless and over priced glass of warm milk with Mr Whippy ice cream which I could have made at home for less money and I would have put some flavour in. When asked if they are supposed to be strawberry milkshake and strawberry and bubblegum we were told yes. I told them they werenât and all the young lad said was âoh rightâ and walked off.

Awful, lazy staff. Waited to be served with two women behind the counter, one working the coffee machine. She proceeded to make herself a coffee and then started a lengthy conversation with her co-worker...ignoring those queueing. I walked out and took my business elsewhere. I'll be going to Greggs in future which is about a minute walk away.

Updating my review 2 years later. Still like Costa Next. Big shout to Ruby who was lovely and nice despite the very busy morning and limited staff. She managed to smile and handle the pressure very professionally. Lovely Costa coffee. One of my favourite. The staff is very nice and always delivers excellent service. It can get extremely busy sometimes but this is a city centre location after all.

I attended this Costa needing drinks for a number of colleagues all with different tastes, styles and requirements. I was lucky to be served by Olly. His attention to detail for me was excellent but what prompted me to leave this review was his attention to detail and how helpful he was to the 3 people he served while I was waiting for my take away. Well done young man.
