George Stephenson in Walsall

So we went looking for a place to eat with a play area for the kids, to keep them entertained while we enjoyed a relaxing pint. Did a search and found this Harvester with "Fuzzy Eds". As Google said it was all open we set off for a 30 min drive, to get there and find that Fuzzy Ed wasn't home. So my kids are hyped up and instead of playing in the soft play, they were left upset and annoyed that it was closed due to temporary work being carried out. No info on this atal apart from a paper sign on the door. Anyway, more to the point. There's a poor selection of beers and the food isn't the best by a long shot. Found it greasy and tasteless. I can see why they have such a large variety of sauces! Salad bar was mainly empty containers and it just wasn't a great experience. Just wanted to get out of there tbh, we had desert elsewhere. It deffo needs work, cause as it stands, we won't be returning. There are better places for the money guys and if you want to go here. Phone ahead and sort it instead of booking online or just assuming and turning up.

Recommend a visit .food , spot on . Staff were especially welcoming and accommodating, Christine & Jack. Thank you to Phil the chef too who went above and beyond . We will visit again .

Served today by Jack and Dom who were both lovely , Service was amazin. I had a classic breakfast which was cooked just as i asked by Sarah , everything was perfect. Thankyou 😋❤️

We come for breakfast here a couple of times a month and we can never fault the service, the team will go above and beyond to help you and make sure you are completely satisfied. Came for breakfast again today and the item I wanted wasn't available due to them having no yoghurt, so Dom, Sarah and Kaz made the trip out to go and get the yoghurt to ensure I had what I wanted :) now that's what I call excellent service! The guys are fab, thank you so much as always... great team x

Tonight’s visit just went from bad to worse. We first arrived and were seated (Table for 3). We waited for over 15 minutes with zero service, which ended in us going to the bar and prompting staff. None of the options we wanted were available, service was slow. One member of the party was left ordering no food as none of the options were available. (For your busiest night of the week, this is unacceptable! You know you are going to be busy so should be ensuring you are fully stocked!) The other 2 members of our party ordered food. We sat and nearly an hour went by and still no food. A couple next to us who were there and ordered before us had been forgotten and had not even received their salad bowls - let alone their order! We ended up going to the bar and cancelling the order and we left. Overall, tonight was an absolute disaster and everything seems to have gone so downhill since the refurb. We won’t be returning again. Get this sorted Harvester! You should be absolutely ashamed with how poorly you performed tonight. The only good thing was the welcome from Vicki who was our host. A real shame this is as in the past, we have always had a good experience. Tonight was just simply unacceptable. Love how the next step of this review is to add photos - what photos? We couldn’t take any of our food as we had no food to be able to take any! Ironic.

Group of five ladies visited for lunch,we were met by Dom who was our Server today. We couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant.kind,courteous young gentleman a real asset to your team. We had first class service all the time we were there. No matter what questions we asked he politely answered them all in a professional manner.You should be happy to have him as a team member.

Been before and found items we like on the menu. When it comes it is excellent but sometimes you have to wait to be noticed. Also not acknowledged when you arrive waiting to be seated. Probably not enough staff. Choice of bitters limited to Samuel Smiths. Prices are edging up compared with others we visited while in the area. Salad bar attracts us to Harvester but was poorly stocked and some items did not look appetizing.

We went to harvester yesterday lots of salad missing we asked to be refilled no pineapple no olives no pasta. No lettuce when our meal arrived the potato was totally black in the middle and the corn of cob which is usually hot was freezing. We asked the waiter to change potato which he did. On a bright note Jamie. Was doing bar work and serving the food a loverly pleasant lad top marks for him but harvester you let us down this time we’ve been a lot of times but not good last night. We will give it another try.

We popped in for dinner after visiting a relative in hospital. There were a few items unavailable but these were pointed out on arrival. The food arrived quickly and was enjoyable. Service by all staff exemplary.

I visited yesterday with my mom and daughter for mother's day and it was perfect ! It was very busy but the team were brilliant and our food was perfect ! Thankyou to Vicki, Beth, Katie, lilly and Jack. Also shoutout to Sarah for the delicious food and Karen for our yummy deserts ❤️

Last minute decision to go for lunch, and glad we did. Meal, service and atmosphere were all amazing. Empty plates all around. Left full and happy. We had the battered halloumi and the dirty bird burger, could not fault any of it, fully stocked salad bar. Thankyou to our waitress, I think was Chloe, very attentive, also Ethan and Josh in the kitchen. Will definitely return.

Not the best service compared to other Harvesters! The salad bar was pretty much empty for around 10 minutes. It was finally restocked over around another 15-20 minutes. We had come for my Mom’s birthday. The waitress got her order wrong ( it happens). My Mom asked for fries instead of chips. The waitress said they only do classic fries to which my Mom agreed to. The meal come topped with a topping Mom had not asked for ( luckily she had not allergies or this could have been another story!). She was told it was ‘dirty fries’. My mom had not asked for them (she was charged for them too). She asked if she could have chips instead and she was charged another £3.49 for them. So she spent £5 for no reason. The bill was £135 which we expected but silliness when they’re adding extra for no reason. Did ask for a refund of the £5 spent for products we did not order but no joy from the manager sadly. The only chips which were warm on any of our dinners were the chips we had ended up paying extra for. The rest of the chips were cold. Probably should have sent them back to be replaced but at another £3.49 to correct food they had sent cold - would have been a bigger expense for no reason! Prawns were a let down. Steak was fine. The building was really cold too - not sure why? Would visit again but not in a hurry. Many better places for same price bracket.

We went for my dads birthday...we ordered our food...went to the salad bar that was empty...the mains come out and the table wasnt cleared from the starter...the food looked nice when it came out but when we tried to eat/cut it,it was completely different. I ordered a sirlion steak came out looking like rump. The steak was just full of fat so was my sister in laws could not eat it. My dad had had fish and chips that was greasy and my mom had chicken that was dry. When we told a member of staff he said he would not charge us for the steak but we had to pay for the chips peas onion rings and the mushroom. We would never eat here again...terrible service and terrible food.

Arrived at the pub and was greeted immediately by a friendly member of staff and shown to our table quickly. Staff made sure to check allergies and explain that the lunch menu was on etc and took drinks order quickly. Drinks and salad bowls arrived quickly. It was Monday lunch time so pub was fairly quiet. The one issue that we had immediately was that the pub was freezing cold, the weather outside wasn’t great so coming in to a cold pub isn’t ideal but we decided to try and stick it out as I was waiting to go collect my cat from the nearby vets so wasn’t many other options available for food other then than McDonald’s and costa. Ordered food and food arrived quickly, portions sizes were good and all of us enjoyed our food. Staff were all friendly and some apologised for how cold it was. It’s a shame because the food is decent and for a trip with friends or family it’s a nice place but having to keep our coats on while eating isn’t ideal.

I went to this restaurant on a Thursday evening, food was amazing and service was really good. There didn’t seem to be many staff working that night so could see they were all working really hard. Only a couple of things let them down, the salad bar was empty and wasn’t topped up, we had to ask a member of staff to do this. Also our main meal didn’t come with a flatbread as per the menu, when we queried this the chef said he didn’t have any and offered us 2 wraps each instead, this was a nice gesture and was happy with the wraps we just think maybe we should have been informed there were no flatbreads when ordering the meal. I know it wasn’t the lady who had taken our orders fault. We also had a dessert which was amazing and it was nice to be recommended desserts from the menu from our waitress. We would definitely return to the restaurant, overall a good experience

My mum was met at the door, by the time I arrived, we were being seated. We came for Christmas Day Dinner and we couldn't have been happier. We were waited on, fed and watered. The service was spot on. The staff really made our day. Thank you all so much, our Christmas was extra special.

Small party of 5 for Xmas get together. Prebooked.. Seated at table told heating not working where we were seated. Server attentive. Ordered drinks. (Attention waned once realized were not drinking lots of alcohol) Gent over the way tried to order Xmas dinner to be told had no turkey. Salad dishes arrived. No olives at all had to ask for some grudgingly brought some out. There were no salad dressings at all out. Starters came out. 2 ordered goujons, 2 prawn cocktail. Goujons cold. No butter for bread with prawn cocktail just dry bread.Complained and goujons were changed.. Main course no cabbage available offered red cabbage small spoonful of red cabbage in its place. Main course nice generally. Dessert time. No ice cream available as allegedly machine broken. Were offered childs portion of fruit salad or Xmas pud. (4 choices on menu) Told they had vegan ice cream. I said I'll have that with the profiteroles. Server went away to check with chef. Told 6.49 charge if anything apart from options offered. They did take off drinks and refunded goujons. However can't help but feel they had run out of food and were simply fobbing us off. I've only posted here now as two of us rang head office. We're told would have a reply by last Thursday. Still no reply. We visited on 8th December. Wonder how other customers have fared. Strange cos only 5 star reviews appear.

When we arrived we were greeted by a member of staff called Katie she was really pleasant and I told her we had a table booked for 5.15pm she took us us to our table and asked what drinks we would like,about 5 minutes later a staff member called Jen came over to ask if we were ready to order. We ordered starters and mains they came quit quickly she also brought over our salad bowls why we were waiting for our starters food was lovely and hot and delicious. It was very busy that night but the staff were amazing. I couldn't fault everything wrong on my visit we would recommend this restaurant.

Had breakfast here last Saturday (2) couples and I have to say it was really lovely. The staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, the restaurant is clean and welcoming and the atmosphere is just as it needs to be for breakfast. This harvester surprised me, as there are a couple that could use this one and the summerhill restaurant as an example. The food was perfect, we had a lovely experience here.

From popping in and speaking to Kelly (Manager) and booking a table. We were celebrating Moms 90th birthday! Food and service as excellent. Katie helped with putting birthday banners on the wall and also allowed ‘birthday’ sprinkles on the table. We had table service with Emma which worked very well. Whilst Emma was busy, Stella cleared all the table which allowed me to arrange for the birthday cake to come out. The candles were lit and the staff sung Happy birthday which Mom loved! I am sorry I have forgotten the name of the Chef but would like to thank him for all meals as they were all tasty and well presented. All in all we will be returning and I definitely recommend it a place to eat. Thank you once again for making it a special day xx

Christine made our experience 5 star. Our food was good and the help and personalised help was so appreciated. We were a party containing Visually Impaired adult and toddlers. Nothing was too much trouble for Christine
