Jazz evening on a Friday with friends - bar but lack of good old-fashioned cigarette smoke hanging under rafters….. Great evening!

I used to really like this cafe! On Sunday I visited with my son. We sat on a corner table, but before we sat we were told it was reserved for people who were eating, we were. Went to pay the bill, and because they don’t give you a till receipt when you go in to pay you just tap and go. However, I was charged £4.60 for a small pot of hot water and a teabag!!!! Next time I will go elsewhere which is a shame because I used to really like this place, but nobody appreciates being overcharged!!!!!!

The Cat's Pyjaamas is a superbly located new café, located right in Shrewsbury's Old Market Square. There are plenty of seats both inside and out even when it is busy. Eating outside when the sun is shining is a pleasure. Not only is it in a perfect location for those of us that love people-watching, it is most certainly one of the trendiest places to be seen, noticed or meet someone. Unfortunately, I cannot support The Cat's Pyjamas as they ONLY accept electronic/phone/tablet/card payment. Support your local community or if you prefer to give your money to international, tax-avoiding companies, you might as well buy your cakes, coffees and teas from the likes of Amazon.

Ordered Eggs Benedict for breakfast. Poached eggs were hard, hardly any hollandaise sauce. Returned it. Then another came with white bread instead of a muffin. Returned that as I cannot eat white bread, I'm allergic to it. I nearly gave up then as my husband had already finished his full English. Eventually arrived with gluton free bread, still not a muffin, which I can eat. Charged full price and no apology.

Always visit when in Shrewsbury for the match. Never had any problems and usually get a nice welcome. Locals usually make conversation too. Some good drink choices in a nice setting. Definitely handy for a beer before the train!

New to Shrewsbury and been into, the hole in the wall quite a bit lately and I must say I have not had a bad meal. Great value for money and so far all the steaks my partner has had, has been cooked perfectly with an excellent peppercorn sauce. I have had various meals from the menu and have enjoyed them all, only gripe I had was the curry was a little bit small for my bottomless belly but was still tasty. Absolutely lovely staff and shall continue to visit as and when we can. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

A wonderful place to have breakfast. Very clean and inviting. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious. The sausage and bacon sandwich is also a great choice, presented on a delicious granary bread. Such great quality food and well presented and cooked. Even our dog is treated when we arrive. It’s the second time we’ve been and we’ve not been disappointed. Good value and a fab experience. I think this will become a regular for us when we visit Shrewsbury!

My friends and I judge a town (and coffee shops) by their bakewell tarts and this one is our current 1st place winner! It's not a formal competition, but the home made cakes here are out of this world and must be sampled (lots of times!). It's a lovely coffee bar and well worth the visit. We had 3 x bakewell tarts (plus more bought for take out), 2 x hot chocolates and 1 x pot of tea (no milk for the tea).

We ended up here after shopping on a Sunday afternoon in Shrewsbury. We hadn't had any lunch and it was getting late, despite this the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very tasty. Will be back

A really good find close to the Park & Ride bus stop at the top of town. Service was welcoming and helpful (husband has some disability) which extended to our dog. A small breakfast for £6 (choose 3 items) was perfect as was the coffee. Lactose intolerance catered for without difficulty. We’ll be back.
