A wonderful place to have breakfast. Very clean and inviting. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious. The sausage and bacon sandwich is also a great choice, presented on a delicious granary bread. Such great quality food and well presented and cooked. Even our dog is treated when we arrive. It’s the second time we’ve been and we’ve not been disappointed. Good value and a fab experience. I think this will become a regular for us when we visit Shrewsbury!

Called in for a light lunch on a recent visit to Shrewsbury and this cafe was perfect. I had a sandwich with doorstopper size bread and Mrs W had the best jacket potato she has had in a long time. The food was fresh , I was advised that the food is fresh every day and it did look and taste that way. The tea rooms were quite busy as they were doing a roast beef special dinner at a ridiculous price , looking at what the other dinners were getting for their money should be charging at least 50% more. On the down side service was a bit hectic as I think they were training a new staff member. Toilets were a bit on the small side , you wouldn't get the cat in there let alone swing him round but , toilet was well clean , tidy and had full amenities and you can only work with what you have. Great little cafe , kept clean and tidy and serving fresh food at a very reasonable price you could not ask for more.

Visited just after lunch friendly staff after sitting and browsing menu order were taken The drinks appeared quickly and the food soon followed. The staff very friendly and helpful. One lady saw me drop my knife on the floor and immediately replaced without asking. The food was really nice and portions adequate. One thing I did notice towards the end of service all staff including the chef were thoroughly cleaning walls floors tables and around. This was noted by my family also. Would definitely return.

Relaxed, good service, generous and tasty - poached eggs had a runny yolk and side of beans was piping hot. In fact, such a chilled atmosphere, that more coffee and a delicious slice of cake followed….

This place is just lovely. A great choice for lunch with many options available. I had a jacket and the portion size was very good for the price. Customer service was fabulous, we were greeted by a young blonde lady who showed us to our table and was very friendly and helpful when my Husband questioned about being Gluten Free. We called in last Saturday morning for breakfast whilst on a trip into Shrewsbury, It is in a great location on a side street just off the Square in the town centre, has ample seating inside and out and is spotlessly clean. We had cooked breakfast which was all cooked to order. Poached eggs were just right and it was all piping hot and served with a smile. Will be regulars here from now on, the lunch menu looked inviting and the home made cakes even more so!

We chanced upon the Gallery Tearooms and it looked very nice from the outside. It was quite busy inside and we got a table by the door which wasn’t ideal as it did get draughty. That said, it didn’t spoil our visit. I had the baked potato with beans and cheese with a lovely side salad and homemade coleslaw; my husband had the Ploughman’s lunch. Both were excellent and very filling. Simple food, well done and very reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient and kept things moving in a slick operation. We will definitely return next time we’re in Shrewsbury.

Went here for lunch. Lots of outside seating for those who want it. The food was alright. I had cheese and cauliflower soup. Thought it tasted more or veggie stock than cauliflower and cheese but it was ok very thick. My husband had a toasted BLT he said was very nice. Had a pot of tea for two which only just did 2 cups. Don’t think I will go back. But just because so many places in Shrewsbury do better. Staff where good. They also do cooked meals which looked good.

A surprising treat. Having visited, and lunched in Shrewsbury before, we were mooching around to explore a different part. We came upon The Gallery Tearoom and decided to try it. Basically we just wanted a lite-bite style lunch. Probably soup and a role, or sandwich. Then I saw homemade pie on the menu ! And at a very good price. When it came, it was a genuine proper steak pie, mash, peas and carrots, with a mini saucepan of gravy. Somewhat mixed results. The pie was a bit light on steak content. The mash not overly soft. The veg. could have been hotter. The gravy had a skin on it. Yet, you know, I think I could order it again. The pie pastry was delicious. I am filling in a calorie counter as I eat, and I struggled to decide portion sizes between medium and large. I thoroughly enjoyed the double portion quantity of gravy in a lovely saucepan. And the value. Incidentally, my wife enjoyed her soup. I am intrigued to return to try something else homemade. It would be a 55 mile trip, but ‘her indoors’ likes a day trip every so often. And she loves a value meal.

We walked into this cafe looking forward to getting something to eat after a long drive. Walked in and waited as we didn’t know the procedure. Our welcome was “take a seat anywhere we’re very very busy, there’s a few tables before you we only have one pair of hands” I was honestly shocked. I could see how shocked customers where by this welcome. I decided to have a cake and coffee because I didn’t want to stay long after feeling so unwelcome. Another server came over and apologised to us. Scone was very hard and wasn’t fresh. Service wasn’t great. Very un organised.

Live nearby and as students its a nice treat to come here for lunch now and again. They are really good with gluten free food with having gluten free bread which is really good. There milkshakes are so lovely as well for a treat. This was a lovely Tearoom cafe. Homemade fresh food at low prices. Popular as we arrived late and they were selling out of some items - on a summers day in August. You have the option of sitting outside or in. Very clean sanitizer available and following covid-19 hygiene regulations well. Cleaning effectively and throughout our stay. The food was delightful. Drinks were very cheap and my tea was a double pot for only £2.20. We had jacket potatoes with Chilli or Tuna mayo with salad, coleslaw and extra cheese. For dessert l had a homemade Victoria sponge it was a large piece and delicious ( so moist and tasty, not dry like at other places). My husband had homemade biscuits of which he loved too. We went to lots of various more expensive restaurants during our stay but my husband loved this the most. So made a point of commended the owner and staff in person on their exceptional service, welcome and homemade produce. We highly recommended this Tearoom cafe. Quality fresh food easy on the pocket.

Stood in entrance for a couple minutes, unsure what the procedure was (no signs advising whether to help yourself to a table, or wait to be seated). The three girls working there appeared to totally ignore us, totally avoiding eye contact. We stepped further into the coffee shop to be met with an unwelcoming “can I help you?” We asked for a table and were then seated. We were then totally ignored again. We were discussing how poor the service was and must have been overheard by another customer, who recommended going elsewhere as they had to wait ages for their order. We decided to leave. On the way out we discovered another customer had returned her order 15 minutes before and was still waiting for it to be replaced. The shop wasn’t even very busy! We then went to another coffee shop just a few doors further along, where we were met with a friendly smiling face and prompt table allocation. What a contrasting experience! The owner of The Gallery Tearoom needs to take a serious look at their staff’s customer service skills, even a smile goes a long way.

I always look for an independent establishment and this fitted the bill. However, we only realised it just took cash when we'd ordered so we had to ask where the nearest cash point was. I guess it must happen a lot as the staff weren't fazed! It's a 5 minute walk. It's a pity they don't take credit cards especially in this age of contactless. That said, they were busy on the Friday lunchtime we visited so maybe they don't need to!

This is a cute café hidden away. It only accepts cash, which is a bit frustrating. The menu is great – a lovely choice of sandwiches, paninis, toasted sandwiches etc. However, I found the specials a bit overpriced - £6.95 for a cranberry, brie and bacon panni when the other paninis were all around £5. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The toilet is hidden away outside – not accessible for wheelchair users. Overall, I would recommend but I also want to see what else Shrewsbury has to offer before I return!

It is centrally located to make it an easy stop after or during shopping or seeing the central part of Shrewsbury.

We stopped here for lunch at the end of the midday rush. The restaurant was filled with locals which we took to be a good sign, and we were right. The homemade tomato soup and sandwiches made for a hearty and inexpensive meal, and the hostess, having dealt with the busy past hour, was very welcoming.

Very cosy tearooms offering a wide selection of eats and drinks, all of which looked very appetising, the walls are covered in works by a local artist all for sale.

We ate here at lunchtime on 21st May, having been here on numerous occasions when it was owned by Paul and his wife we felt we would give it a try, not realising at the time that there were new owners.

We were looking for some where for lunch I shrewsbury and eventually found this delightful little place some many round about are expensive and don't seem to serve light lunches. We both ordered ham cheese and onion sandwiches they were excellent one of the best toasties we have ever had. My husband then had home made rhubarb crumble and custard. We will back now we have found them.

We had lunch here today and as usual it was very enjoyable. Food is tasty and reasonably priced, staff are attentive and fiendly and there no background music. An ideal little place to meet for lunch and a chat.

There is a very friendly and informal feeling to the Gallery Tea Room. It is well located just off the Market Square in Shrewsbury with an excellent everyday menu and the food is wholesome, well cooked on site and very tasty with good sized portions. I have several favourites. The staff are friendly and very obliging too. We often use the Gallery whilst on a day's shopping.

Popped out of Rackhams on the way to Patisserie Valerie but spotted the Gallery Tearoom opposite. Bacon Sandwiches advertised on the board outside, just the job. Found a table, waitress arrived, "bacon sandwiches only at breakfast time but it has been quiet, let me go and see if there is any left".

Was lucky to get a table in here as it was packed out. A good sign. There was a good range of specials alongside the normal menu. I had a jacket potato with cheese and mum had a cheese toastie. They certainly didn't skimp on the cheese like some places. I also had a horlicks, something I haven't had for ages. There were some nice sounding puddings on the menu including an apricot Bakewell tart which I wanted to try but we were stuffed. This place might not look as fancy as some of the trendier places is Shrewsbury but the food was well worth it

We headed to Dee Dee's firstly because it is situated within The Range store, where we happened to be browsing, and secondly, because it advertised that it was serving Costa Coffee. We were killing time, waiting for a relative to undergo a hospital appointment, but we waited a LONG time to be served. I actually began to time it on my watch, silly I know, but I was beginning to think that we would have to ditch our idea of a coffee and head back to the hospital. In the end, we waited a little over 18 minutes to be served. Yes, the coffee was Costa, but not served Barista style, more of the kind of machine one finds in a buffet breakfast at a hotel, select your drink, press the appropriate button and the machine dispenses the drink. The staff seemed to be rushed off their feet, with one young lady taking orders and delivering coffees and another, older and more experienced lady putting together the food orders. One felt for them, as they were clearly understaffed and rushed off their feet. Yet, being British, we all stood there and queued! Costa coffee is okay, not nearly as special as it would like to think, but we got what we paid for. The seating area was nicely laid out, sufficient space between tables, but it was all rather canteen, rather than a coffee / cafe /bistro experience. The management should really look at their staffing levels and help out the current members, who are doing their best.

not much occuring but the beer is nice and the staff pleasant. I was the only one in so not much atmosphere but chilled out. The young guy in glasses on the bar was lovely but didn't know much about the beer really

A really good find close to the Park & Ride bus stop at the top of town. Service was welcoming and helpful (husband has some disability) which extended to our dog. A small breakfast for £6 (choose 3 items) was perfect as was the coffee. Lactose intolerance catered for without difficulty. We’ll be back.

Found by accident while out driving around the area. Popped in for a quick lunch about 2.30. Quits a few people in there. Burger and chips were nice. Coffee was good. Toilet was clean also. Would be a good destination if it wasn't pouring with rain as could sit outside.

The staff and service is always great. We came in for a quick drink recently. We really do miss the male owner doing the food, much preferred it then. We’ve been for set menu events and it’s never really lived up to expectations which is a shame. Partner used to always come in then but we don’t tend to visit now. Just an honest one
