The Cat's Pyjaamas is a superbly located new café, located right in Shrewsbury's Old Market Square. There are plenty of seats both inside and out even when it is busy. Eating outside when the sun is shining is a pleasure. Not only is it in a perfect location for those of us that love people-watching, it is most certainly one of the trendiest places to be seen, noticed or meet someone. Unfortunately, I cannot support The Cat's Pyjamas as they ONLY accept electronic/phone/tablet/card payment. Support your local community or if you prefer to give your money to international, tax-avoiding companies, you might as well buy your cakes, coffees and teas from the likes of Amazon.

Amazing little cafe, the staff were lovely and very welcoming! The food, I had the State Waffle and it was soooooo good!

Food was delicious and the service was prompt and friendly, Coffee was okay. We went early on a Monday morning so it was quiet and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast! No french toast, which we saw on the website but a waffle was a decent alternative.

Welcoming place to be. Staff friendly. Comfy places to sit and enjoy the delicious food. Thought the prices were fair for what we had. We would definitely recommend.

Lovely welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. It’s dog friendly with lots of choice drinks. From coffee and tea through to a lovely glass of wine. Meals, snacks and cake also available. My only negative is that it’s slightly pricey. Our x2 small coffee’s came to £8.80. You also pay extra for any milk alternatives. Nice seating outside the front which is a beautiful sun trap 😎.

A small but comfy and lovely restaurant. Window side seats are brilliant. Foods are quite delicious, just a bit expensive for this small portion. The red berry iced tea is good, not very sweet, love it! There is no kid meal provided. It is fantastic place for adult, feels so relaxing, but not so suitable for family with kids. It's a small but comfortable, simple and cute restaurant. The window seat is great. The food is okay and quite delicious, but the price is relatively expensive for the small portion. The cranberry iced tea is good, not very sweet, I like it! There are no children's meals in the restaurant. This is a good restaurant for adults and has a very laid back feel, but not very suitable for families with children.

Perfect brunch. Tasty food with an unusual menu. The antidote to a greasy cafe. Busy and lively. Service was good even though they were pretty full. Warned us of the likely waiting time and delivered accordingly.

Great spot in the centre of town. The food selection is ideal for brunch and service is normally great. The outside tables are lovely on a sunny day. Only qualm would be that they add a service charge on take away coffees... don't agree with this

Quality of the food wasn’t representative of the price charged. Chilli was obviously out of a tin despite being marked as “home made”. Daughters order didn’t arrive at the table - when challenged they tried to charge us again for the dish despite our receipt proving otherwise! My chicken burger was of poor quality also.

It's an okay place to go, good service but lacking snacks anda wider menu. Family friendly so don't expect it to be quiet. This a good thing however. Interior was a good design but toilets could've done with some work, especially the floor, felt very slippy. Great people working there no doubt 👍

Cool quirky brunch place. Definitely somewhere to visit if you love lots of things on toast options! Bit busy as there is no booking system but we didn't have to wait long and it was a Saturday morning! Good was delicious, couple price points a little high but would definitely recommend and return.

A very cool cafe with lovely colourful food and drinks. My first visit. The back room we ate in is a little tucked away from the better atmosphere but they have tried to jolly it up and have some lovely big plants in there.

Friendly staff and really good turn around. I found the slice of toast a bit disappointing as it was really chewy for toast on the crusts. Sadly had to keep flagging down staff for service. Why couldn't we have just gone to the till to order? Aside from these the coffee was nice but sadly due to being hard of hearing the tables for two are too close for a conversation and back against the window was uncomfortable. I'm sure other people enjoy this place and can see why but sadly its not for me.

Interesting, novel concept very well executed. My only small suggestion is that would be useful to have the food choice as a table menu, not only only on the wall.

I have been here a couple of times for breakfast and lunch, and the food has been amazing. The food selection is great, local produce. They also do a really good Dirty Chai Latte, which is my absolute favourite. Highly recommend!

My wife and I sat outside this lovely coffee shop yesterday in the sunshine, what a great find, she had a coffee and as it was after 12 I had a couple of beers, we also had food, my wife plumped for the prosecco and stilton rarebit and I went for the black pudding and eggs, both were divine, the staff were really friendly also, which topped off our visit, we will defiantly return

Great place to have brunch. The young men working that day gave great service and looked like they enjoyed there. They rectified my friends order within minutes and offered the incorrect meal to be eaten free. The quality of the food and coffee was great. Would definitely visit again.

Split a pot of tea and cake here as we were going to have a really big dinner. The interior is really bright and inviting even on a rainy day. This place is dog-friendly so we got to watch a very cute dog while enjoying our tea and cake. The cake we had was vegan with a raspberry and rose flavoured buttercream. The texture and taste was impressive for a vegan option - the buttercream was almost like marshmallow. It’s a little pricy but service is attentive and friendly. Loved the use of real plants here. Would come back again if i was in the area.

Popped in for a drink with a friend, I had the house lemonade which was really great. Best lemonade I've ever tried. The staff were great, lovely place and will definitely be back.

Popped in with my Auntie just to have a coffee. Probably one of the best oat lattes I've ever had. Lovely staff and very helpful. We ask for directions for the closest record store and the young man was very helpful.

I've been here so many times for brunch, coffee, coctails and dinner. The small plates we had on a Saturday evening were amazing - I'd 100% recommend the cauliflower! The brunch is nice too although the service can be slow on weekends. The space is lovely and the service is always friendly. Definitely recommend visiting if you're nearby.

Popped in for lunch today and had a fabulous experience. The menu is interesting, beautifully cooked and presented and the coffee superb. We were served by the lovely Megan who was polite, friendly and super efficient. We will be back ::-)

I have been here for breakfast and brunch a couple of times. Lots on offer for vegetarians. The food is tasty and the staff are friendly. Great atmosphere. We will be returning and would highly recommend.

This place opened last March but only just found it! Lovely cafe with nice cakes. The ultimate hot chocolate was very nice!

A super cosy bar in Shrewsbury. We had coffee, a few light bite veggie plates and a Lassi cocktail. All delicious. Lovely atmosphere and great team giving first class service. Brilliant 👏

Really enjoyed this place. Definitely coming back! Staff are friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere and lighting were very nice. I went for Friday evening and enjoyed light bites which at first I thought were quite pricey but as they say "you get what you pay for" and the dishes were not small which I loved and they all tasted amazing! The drinks were also very nice I tried a few different ones, the only fault I would say is that below the drink name is actually ingredients and not a choice of flavours.

The coffee is undeniably good but service was horrendously slow. Ordered a flat white and it took over 15 minutes to arrive. Shrewsbury has a good collection of decent coffee shops so I’d advise going elsewhere

We looked at the menu online, nothing like what was offered to us , we had a coffee , paid , then discreetly left .

We've been here for cocktails twice now and quite honestly it's probably the worst place I've been in Shrewsbury for cocktails. The coffee is great and the staff are super friendly and attentive. Didn't have food but another friend has been for food and she said it wasn't the best. It's always busy though! Maybe with a bit more practice the cocktails will get better.

I came here on Sunday with my daughter her partner and my 2 grandbabies.The staff are friendly warm and welcoming, great with children and the food is AMAZING!! Great music and funky interior the service was fantastic, spotlessly clean, love it here.The wild garlic mushrooms on sour dough was fabulous ( well actually everything I have tried on the menu is sooooo good). The babies ate all their brunch which they shared, the portions are very generous. The coffee is smooth hot and delicious. I do get my take out coffee on my way to work most days. If you haven’t been here yet get to the CPJ’s in the square Shrewsbury and try it out, I can’t really recommend anything I have tried on the menu because I have loved it all!.

Great busy coffee shop ( but does serve beer,wine and cocktails)with a bright interior and lots of tables . Lovely all day brunch style menu using top quality food.Very helpful and pleasant staff.Lost a star for me though as the toilets are not amazing,being rather dark and not clean.

Not the greatest place. Service to table was fine, with prompt service asking what we were ordering. Coffee wasn’t amazing, you’d find better coffee at Starbucks over the road. Hot chocolate my partner had, he said it tasted like foamy milk with no chocolate taste. His waffle was raw in the middle and the sourdough bread he said was stale. I had the French toast which tasted okay. Wish we’d gone elsewhere for the price, felt like we were paying for the ‘hipster’ experience

Normally it is really great and staff too, food was nice but this is the second cafe where there is no simple kids menu. So to charge £9 for a piece of thin bread with some cheese and ham is not okay and you could have adjusted it. The bill was around £40 so it is not like we only had that piece of bread.

Popped in for coffee and cake . My first visit here and I really liked it. Our rasberry and white chocolate cake was delicious. You can sit in or take away. Will definitely be returning.

Ordered tea and coffee, took a little while to arrive, however.. Both cups were filthy, lipstick on one, stains inside and out of the other. Pretty sure they poured the coffee from the grubby lipstick cup into the new, clean one…. Teaspoon was similarly grim. Won’t be coming back. Only gave one star as it wouldn’t allow me to give zero.

As visitors to Shrewsbury on a recent midweek break, we ate breakfast/brunch here three days in a row as it was all so good. Faultless actually, with a wonderful young team, welcoming and helpful. Lovely location in The Square and - coming from London - great value for money. Would highly recommend

I went to have brunch with my daughter. The service was very good, and we both had garlic spinach mushroom on sourdough toast with poached egg and bacon and it was soooooooo good!

Lovely location in the square. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the food and the prices were pretty reasonable, especially considering we were in the centre of town. Would definitely recommend!

Nipped in for a bit of breakfast, turkish eggs on some stunning sourdough toast. Coffee and cake to follow and the coffee was lovely. We even had a cheeky espresso martini that was really nice. Great little friendly spot.

Had a warm friendly welcome. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. Ordered a couple of drinks. My drink was a hot chocolate which wasn't hot. It had a pretty design on top but was small considering the price compared to other similar places and tasteless. When I got to the bottom there was a large hard lump chocolate powder stuck to the side of the mug. My daughter had a cold drink, this was small and tasteless too. Most of the glass was full of ice, so she consumed it very quickly. Very disappointing experience.

Beware, you only find out there is 5% optional service charge on your receipt after paying. I found the service poor at best having had to go to the counter to order food and pay the bill. I'm not surprised the price of the cake was not displayed given the cost. The final insult comes when you are charged 30p extra if you want milk in your tea. I have never seen this, ever! I think the price far exceeds the quality of service and produce. Frankly, I'd say there are much better options very nearby.

A very friendly and welcoming atmosphere , with a good selection of food, I had the mushrooms on sourdough toast, very delicious. I also treated myself to some cake to take away. A place to pop in by yourself or a lovely meeting venue with friends or family.

Service was lacking. Had to ask for menus after waiting 10 minutes. Ordered two coffees and two cakes. Iced coffee came and it was just milk with ice, no coffee. Only one cake came with coffee, second cake came about 20 minutes later by which time we had finished everything else. Better places to go in Shrewsbury, would not recommend.
