So gutted to hear this is “no longer there” - brilliant food, fab local business. Can’t wait to see what they will do next and where they might pop up. Try whenever and wherever you can!

This is a lovely little cafe serving excellent, freshly made food, with most of it made on the premises, even including the burger buns. It may be a vegan menu, but there is an excellent range of food on offer, and all very tasty. It's a small cafe and the seating may not to be everyone's taste - the low tables and cushions are perhaps not designed to encourage an older clientele, although there are other tables available. Having said that, as one of the older clientele mentioned, we will certainly be going back to try out more of the options available

Had lunch here with a very large family group 17 of us ,the meal had been pre-arranged .The staff were lovely very friendly and welcoming .We were in the Royalist restaurant ,people say the hotel is out dated ,but that is part of the history of the hotel and character , modern decor would not do the hotel justice , and shrewsbury town is a medieval town , the Prince Rupert was former home to Prince Rupert the grandson of King James 1 ,so why would anyone want to change such an Iconic hotel into a modern hotel . Our food and service was fantastic the serving staff were lovely very efficient and we didn't have to wait long between courses . My partner and I had Sweet corn Veloute for starters ,then Hake and then Chocolate Brownie with ice cream ,Every course was delicious served on hot plates . So if you like places with history and good food and service ,I can highly recommend the Prince Rupert every where was lovely and clean too .

I love this place. I've had lunch here before, but as I was staying overnight in Shrewsbury, I thought I'd treat myself to a breakfast here. The food was amazing. All locally sourced produce with a South American twist. The homemade brown sauce is well worth a try. I washed it all down with 2 cups of Americano, which was like the loveliest rocket fuel around. It's not the cheapest cooked breakfast I've ever had, but for around ÂŁ20 certainly the tastiest and best quality, so a nice treat once in a while. The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and clearly passionate about CSONS. My only complaint is there isn't a CSONS nearer where I live.

Had a great experience here. Popped in to buy a bottle as a present and got some really helpful advice and came away with a great wine. The team were also really helpful in resolving a card charge issue which was much appreciated.
