What an amazing little gem! Visiting Shrewsbury to meet up with a friend, and we were looking for somewhere to set up for food and a catch up on a Friday afternoon. It was nice and quiet for us, staff very friendly and attentive, food delicious and good value for money, with good music playing in the background. Would happily visit again and recommend to others
I never pass up an opportunity when in Shrewsbury to call in Churchill's for a cooked breakfast. The food is plentiful and delicious. It is great value for anywher, but particularly for Shrewsbury. The service is alway attentive and upliftingly cheerful - long may Churchill's continue to flourish.
We were staying locally and decided to pop into this lovely wee café for a late lunch before going back to our accommodation. Cafés etc had just reopened so it was good to be able to support them. The two ladies who were running the café were very welcoming and our food was freshly prepared. It was delicious and well presented. The café also has small gifts/cards etc and I have to confess that I did buy some bits and pieces. Really lovely small eatery. Mind you, we could have done without the two fairly loud guys who were obviously holding a work meeting there. I really wasn’t interested in the ins and outs of their business but they were speaking so loudly that we couldn’t help but earwig in. Think about the other customers chaps. It’s not all about you. If you need to discuss business - do it in your office!
Went for an evening meal (Sat 26 Apr) with friends, had no expectations but we were all blown away with the amazing food and great service. Would highly recommend a visit to this little gem of a restaurant
Lovely little wine bar, very relaxed and pleasant. On the expensive side, but it was nice to have a good choice of wine. The only thing that disappointed me was the service charge on the bill. I was told the total at the front desk, and I duly paid by phone before being given the receipt, which had a discretionary tip line on it. I wasn't in the mood to cause a fuss but it just felt a bit sneaky to me.
Fantastic hidden gem in the Prince Rupert Hotel. Every detail of our meal from the homemade bread to our scrumptious mains and the locally sourced cheese board for desert was executed with perfection. Coupled with attentive charming service and an old school decor. This restaurant should be on the top ten list in the UK. It is simply not to be missed.
OKRA is one of my favourite places for lunch in Shrewsbury. This is a place that proves plant-based food can be just as delicious, or even moreso, than meat-based food.
It also helps that the layout and vibe is perfect. Highly recommended.
Osteria 2.0 has a lot going for it, particularly when it comes to its setting and service. The decor is stylish and thoughtfully arranged, creating a warm and inviting Italian styled atmosphere. The layout is well considered, offering a sense of space without losing the cosy feel, making it an ideal spot for a casual dinner or a special evening out, as ours was.
The service was another highlight of the visit. The waiting staff were friendly, well-informed, and attentive without being intrusive. They clearly know their menu and wine list well, which added to the overall experience. Speaking of wine, Osteria 2.0 boasts a great selection, with a notable number of options from Tanner’s Wines. The Malbec, in particular, was excellent (as it always is) and worth recommending.
Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a mixed bag. The starter, the dough pillows, while tasty in flavour, were overly greasy and didn’t quite meet expectations. Mains followed the same uneven trend. My wife had the steak, which was a real standout, juicy, tender, and cooked beautifully. However, my gnocchi dish didn’t quite hit the mark. Though the gnocchi itself was well cooked, the dish lacked taste and flavour overall.
All in all, our visit wasn’t bad by any means, but it fell short of the high hopes we had based on the glowing reviews. With a bit more consistency in the food, this could easily become one of our favourite spots. As it stands, it’s a lovely venue with excellent service and drinks, but the food was hit and miss, but we will try it again for a lunch time pizza as they looked good!
Great Italian restaurant. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient. The pizzas were huge and the desserts were to die for !! We will definitely be returning 😊 I’m sure some people would argue that it’s a bit pricey but to us it was worth every penny.
One of the nicest meals I’ve ever had! I had walked past their Market Hall restaurant and thought it looked good so ordered a take away of Prawn red curry and it was absolutely delicious, it was the perfect dish. I will definitely be back to eat in next time. Thanks so much for making my day!
Love this cafe and the staff. After the Cathedral visit we need a coffee and approach to this cafe which was about to close but we request them for a takeaway coffee if possible. We're truly appreciate for making that effort. Hope pop in again when around.
Wondering round Shrewsbury and found this wonderful place. Sat outside in their small but sunny courtyard. Great menu and had the sharing platter with a glass of lush French white and local beer! Service excellent and great value for money. Recommend
