Great Italian restaurant. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient. The pizzas were huge and the desserts were to die for !! We will definitely be returning 😊 I’m sure some people would argue that it’s a bit pricey but to us it was worth every penny.

WOW What a place. We have just returned from the most amazing meal. All food cooked to order and well worth the wait. The chefs are amazing and their food is outstanding. Lovely atmosphere with exceptional staff who are so friendly and welcoming. You must try the duck lasagne...it was stunning and my husband had the crab linguine which he said was amazing. Desserts were a real treat and the tiramisu and panecotta were the best. We have eaten in many Italian Restaurants and this is our favourite. You must give it a try but I would advise on booking as it gets very busy and sadly people were being declined due to capacity

Yet another fantastic evening with good food, great service and terrific atmosphere. If only others thought differently we might be able to get a table more often. :-) We have been before and shall, of course, come again. We know we are not the only regulars but are always made to feel special - and that’s what makes Cloisters special.

We were greeted by very welcoming staff and given plenty of time to choose from the Italian based menu, the customer service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. If I could add that when ordering an italian expresso from the menu I would expect it to be served in a expresso cup for authenticity, keeping in the style of an Italian Bistro and not in normal sized coffee cup. It may be a minor thing but, it would compliment the experience. The food was excellent with a superb crab linguine as my main followed by a very tasty Italian Tirimasu and a double expresso.

Cloisters is my number 1 choice for a nice dinner out. Great menu, reasonable pricing, lovely service and lots of fantastic food. Can’t beat it! Just make sure you book well ahead!!

We had a very pleasant experience here at The Cloisters. A slightly different Italian menu of pizzas and pastas. Reasonably priced and good service. Would return when in Stamford again in the future.

Food was worth waiting for and was genuinely divine, pizza, gnocchi and who knew it but duck lasagne. Service was good and that fine balance of being asked how the food was without being pestered.

We’re so lucky to have Cloisters in town, it really is the best restaurant! Reasonable prices, a great drinks menu, and absolutely delicious food! Particular favourites are the ‘Nduja dough balls (heavenly) and the crab linguine (amazing!) . We have never had a bad meal here. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is next level. What more could you want?!

Amazing starter and dessert ! The Agnolotti patate starter was so buttery and full of flavour. The crispy fried squid starter was big portion. The Sicilian citrus cake dessert to finish the meal was perfect, sweet and citrusy 🍋 The honey in ‘Nduja e Miele was overpowering the whole pizza but the Orecchiette giardino pasta was very delicious ! The house red wine was really good too !

This is possibly one of the best pizza's I have tasted. We visited Stamford for my birthday and I looked up places to eat before leaving home. The trip advisor rating is totally spot on for this Italian. I would recommend you give it a try.

Excellent communication ahead of booking. Arrived early but seated immediately. Table was near the back of the restaurant and if I had a choice, the front seems a little more cosy and with more ambience. Service was good. A little functional with very limited personality at times, but prompt and efficient and we never waited when we needed a top up or the table clearing etc. We felt some difference when the manager served us (guessing she was the manager) as she was lovely, chatty and even made helpful suggestions around wine. Food, and the primary reason for the 5 stars, was excellent. Well seasoned, very tasty and arrived hot and beautifully presented. The dough balls were epic! Overall, the food was by far some of the best local Italian I’ve had and clearly constructed with fresh ingredients. Absolutely superb. So, overall, a little Italian gem which we will seek out again.

My friend and I travelled to Venice last year and eating at Cloisters transported us straight back there! Delicious Cicchetti and the Cozze con Linguine was amazing. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff so friendly and attentive. A must if you are coming to Stamford. We will definitely be back as we must have the Carbonara made with no cream!

We haven’t been here for a while, no reason other than being busy, but have to say it was always good before, now it’s just outstanding! Superb staff, superb service, awesome food. We have vowed to come here regularly as it’s just fabulous. There is an intimate atmosphere as it’s fairly small, the tables are spaced well so you are not listening to other people’s conversations ..and the food is just top notch, superb…wow. We are regular visitors to Italy and this just makes us feel we are there when at home. We were thrilled to see they now also do the authentic carbonara without cream!! This place is an absolute gem…we promise to come back more often as every time we visit we just love it! Fabulous value too..just superb, thank you everyone for a great night.

We really enjoyed our meal here, this was the first time we had been here and will definitely be going again. Excellent gluten free menu with plenty of options. Great pasta and excellent service, Cloisters is a fantastic choice for dining in central Stamford. With a wide range of options, we’re looking forward to exploring the menu further on our next visit.

We have just returned from Cloisters, we all had the Crab Linquine which was so delicious, followed by the following deserts; Cheesecake and my utmost favourite was the Pannacotta, for me it’s something I would not make myself and it was the best I have had. The service was excellent with a lovely ambiance. It was busy but not too noisy.
