Had a great experience here. Popped in to buy a bottle as a present and got some really helpful advice and came away with a great wine. The team were also really helpful in resolving a card charge issue which was much appreciated.

Popped in for a drink with friends and, as I was driving, was pleased to see the wold zero alcohol drinks. Good atmosphere.

Popped in for a late afternoon tipple and ordered the flight of 5 wine to taste. Joe, the barman/sommelier, came over, and gave us a knowledgeable talk about each wine as he served us, and really made the experience of wine in the early evening a great one. The wine was a great diverse selection too! Top Marks for Joe!

We love stopping for a glass of wine at Glou Glou in the Market Place, a great spot watching the world go by. We enjoyed a couple of earthy glasses of Sicilian wine. A touch pricey however well worth it. The service was fabulous, knowledgeable friendly staff who always make time to chat. A great pit stop. Highly recommended.

We recently visited for the unicorn flight wine tasting!! Top tier wine!! Absolutely enjoyed the whole experience start to finish this was my birthday treat from my partner. The owner explained very well each story of the 5 wines he served. Definitely recommend AA+ wine tasting Food delicious too

Popped in between trains (it is just a few shops up from the station) for a quick bite and was delighted to be served a delicious cheese toastie and even more delicious amber wine. Lovely place to find unusual and tasty wines! Definitely worth a look in.

Came to Glou Glou in the market hall a few weeks ago. They didn't have any prosseco glasses for our prosecco and asked if we'd mind in a champagne flute instead which was not a problem at all. But they didn't know how much to put in so they literally weighed it! Bizarre. Came again today and they charged us £2 service charge for one drink. Wasn't even table service and already pricey. Not great experiences there, will probably try again but I have never been anywhere in my 50yrs that my drink has been weighed! ?

Really enjoyed ourselves here, Belgian beer on tap (Duvel), served in 2/3rd pint measures, 6.66% - £5.50 A really good choice of wine and some interesting bar snacks; broad beans and chilli corn. Nice atmosphere, we stayed for a couple and will return. It's a stone's throw from the train station.

Fantastic natural wine bar with some excellent natural wines at fair prices for what was on offer. They also catered for the non-wine drinker by offering excellent Belgian blond beers well served and very tasty, the Duvel was excellent and the staff were knowledgeable and keen to assist us have the nicest experience possible.

Lovely bite to eat, lively atmosphere.

Disappointing, we walked in and weren’t greeted so sat at a table. The bouncer was on her phone at the bar and another member of staff was also on her phone behind the bar. We eventually got served but unfortunately had to ask for our wine to be changed. The bouncer then started smoking at the door which filled the front of the bar with the smell of smoke. Have enjoyed past experiences in Glou Glou but this has definitely made us question whether to return.

The wine selection is amazing and plenty variety. Rob definitely knows his stuff when it comes to quality wines.

This was a lovely find! Would highly recommend the wine flight! The host was knowledgeable and relaxed, a lovely afternoon wine tasting and the wrekin blue cheese was amazing!

Great wine list and food and dog friendly. They have wines like ferdinando principiano barolo, which is one of my favourites, and the bottle we chose to have.

Not cheap, limited styles of wine, but good service and atmosphere

We had prebooked a table for dinner. We ordered a sharing platter & bottle of prosecco while considering the menu. We were advised there was no prosecco chilled & guided to a significantly more expensive bottle. Because we planned to order wine from the excellent choice to complement the food, we didn't wish to have an expensive bottle of prosecco to start. After a further chat with the waiter, we were advised there were bottles of the prosecco we had chosen in the fridge, 'but they are for cocktails' & we couldn't have one. We spoke to the manager, querying why a bottle would be on the regular menu (not specials so always on offer) but not actually available. He was dismissive & unhelpful. We left & enjoyed excellent wine, food, prosecco & service elsewhere. We won't be returning to Glouglou.

I love this place!! This is the only place I tell people to go in Shrewsbury for a glass of wine - they are SO friendly and really know their stuff! I always have the opportunity to try something new at their recommendation based on my palate. It's such Wine Bar vibes too - I take all my first dates there because it's such an easy/elegant/cool space to be in. The cheese boards are the stuff of dreams - they give you this homemade chutney which makes me 🤤 just thinking about it. Sometimes I just go and sit in the window or on the benches outside with a glass of bubbles watching the world go buy. Also the team are amazing. Also they have really cool murals. Also this is here I buy my wine when l'm entertaining and they help me choose.

Had a lovely time on the weekend, sipping mulled wine and nibbling on cheese and meats, whilst people watching from the window booth. 😇

We attended a cheese tasting from local specialist makers. All delicious, accompanied by delicious wine and facilitated by the Slow Food movement. Great evening.

Nice wine bar near the station. Friendly staff. Interesting decor comfy seats. Be better if they had better selection of spirits and some beers too.

Nice ambience. Wine was good but pricey. Unfortunately service was very poor. Not easy to get attention, then the entire food order was lost, then when finally delivered after a reminder, was wrong. Not impressive when the menu is so simple. But they did offer an apology and discount on the bill. Let's hope they're better organised if we go back.

Visited a few times now and this is a wonderfully relaxed place. If you are put off because you think there will be some wine snobbery going on, you needn't be! Simply tell the staff what you like and they will find you something, plus it will be a good price, they aren't going to try and land you with a surprise bill Park yourself in the window with a glass of wine and watch the world go by

Atmospheric place to visit. Chris was the perfect host, very welcoming and proud and knowledgeable about the food and wine available. Lovely paintings also on sale! On this occasion we had come for coffee which was excellent, but we will be back to sample some interesting foods like Basque Cheesecake, home made Kimchi etc. If you want a different interesting coffee bar experience this is the place to go!

Large choice of quality wines, great menu and the quality of the food matches the wine. Original menu, light bird to suit the wine made from local produce, well worth a visit.

Love it...Great venue...tremendous staff...and beautiful wine. Only criticism...the lighting in the back is headache inducing...change the bulbs.

I never thought I would be a fan of a wine bar, or wine... Glou Glou has helped to change that. The science and stories behind the wines come to life through the service and team at this tiny bar in the heart of Shrewsbury. I utterly adore it here, a place where you can fall in love silently with wine or someone special.

Did a wine tasting with friends here recently and it was a lot of fun. The sommelier really knew his stuff and was a great host. Highly recommended.

The perfect spot to unwind following a long train journey, such a welcoming place run by friendly, knowledgeable people. It was a shame to leave but I hope to be back someday.

Great wine bar, snacks are great and wine list is very fine, most offerings by the glass as well. I regard myself as fairly into wine and I Learnt loads on my visit. Orange wine for example, go find out, I was impressed
