Lovely little cafe which was very busy. I wanted a toasted tea cake and the don’t serve them but the twic cake I had more than made up for it. Can’t comment on inside seating as we sat outside with our dogs but the view was nice and we enjoyed our stop

Easy to find at the junction of High Street and Milk Street, this upstairs vegetarian cafe offers a range of excellent dishes for lunch. (We had a roast vegetable and goat's cheese quiche and a spinach moussaka - both were excellent.)

Excellent dog friendly cafe. Lovely Frittata and quiche which you could tell was made with love, would thoroughly recommend for a vegetarian lunch

The Greenhouse is the place to be seen in Shrewsbury. A highly recommended community vegeteration/vegan café/restaurant. The owner/chef, Joel, is dedicated beyond belief to what he produces. The Greenhouse always welcomes the local groups that regularly meet there in addition to the town's visitors that porposely plan to visit the establishment. The staff are beyond courteous and offer at-the-counter service or will happily come to your table if you feel unsure. They are experts at coping with the older genrations who frequently forget what they have just ordered or require suggestions or recommendations and naturally, my favourite is the delighfully charming Katrina who always cortseys when presenting your order. I am there on a weekly basis for porridge (and everything else that jumps out), which (with a very subtle hint of nutmeg) is possibly the best in Shrewsbury town centre. Each month, The Greenhouse presents a special evening offers as much as you wish to eat for a most reasonable all-inclusive cost (and you are welcomed to bring your own wine). The establishment also supports local artists and it is always a pleasure to see the incredibly-priced artwork on display, not least of which of which is produced by charitable-hero, Arnie Wray.

Everything homemade here got to be one of the places best for lunch in town.I couldn't manage it all so the guy put it in a box for me to take home. So great service and the food was good to.

We've visited The Greenhouse Cafe on several occasions, usually for breakfast which is always excellent. However last night we went to one of the monthly evening events, and we weren't disappointed! It was a great evening with delicious food, and plenty of it, great entertainment, good service and a wonderful atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely superb. We are not vegan or vegetarian but love quality food and this place was perfect for us. Great choice of dishes and super fresh salad, deserts were equally delicious. What a find. Lovely to get away from Pizzas and burgers which the hospitality industry feels we all need. Brilliant friendly staff and a lovely quiet and calm place to dine.

Searched round Shrewsbury for a nice lunch that wasn't a chain, all other places had stopped serving food at 3PM on a Saturday! Came across The Greenhouse and was relieved to find a vegan & veggie friendly place! The owners were lovely and friendly and offered a good variety of veggie & vegan options. I had a tasty summer greens & ricotta lasagna with freshly made pineapple and orange juice, and my partner had a the vegan Mediterranean bake. All great prices!Nice view down the main street in Shrewsbury and chilled atmosphere inside.definitely interested in attending the buffet evening at the end of the month!

Lovely vegetarian restaurant with reasonable prices. The bread and coffee in their breakfast was very good. Lovely interior with a nice 1st story view over Shrewsbury. Spacious with good service.

Simple yet wonderful breakfast. Great coffee with grilled tomatoes and mushroom on toast. The quality was superb, the price very reasonable. Will certainly revisit.

Lots of interesting vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices - eg quiche at under £4 - we paid £7.90 in Cirencester for the same thing - and lots of variety in salads and tempting puds and cakes. Very friendly staff too. What's not to like?

Only came across this place as a lot of the other tea rooms had closed at 3!! (don't get it) but worked out really well. With a vegan & GF in the party this was perfect, I'm neither but still enjoyed the menu, shame it was late in the day as a few things already run out. Lovely building and very friendly staff, will definitely be going back.

Having not visited Shrewsbury for a while had a day trip there. Normally eat at an alternative Veggie cafe bought thought we would give this place a try. What amazing food!!! Lovely veggie moussaka and mixed salad plate to share, my partner had the quiche, really tasty. Reasonable price, great friendly service and good covid cleaning practices! Can't wait to return.

This was our third “last Saturday night of the month” dinner at the Greenhouse. There’s such a warm welcome and nice atmosphere on these evenings which attracts loyal customers. With a choice of 4 mains all served with red cabbage and potato gratin together with a choice of salads you need a good appetite to take up the offer of seconds but my very slim husband manages it! Choice of 4 desserts too means you won’t leave hungry. The food offering has gluten free options as well as vegan and regular vegetarian dishes but there’s plenty to appeal to meat eaters too. With live music (a classical guitarist) it makes for a pleasant night out.

We were looking for a place with good coffee for a late morning break - great tasting coffee and the cakes we had were very tasty too. The vegetarian food looked delicious though we didn’t sample any, and the staff were very friendly.

Banging breakfasts, vegan tofu or vege eggs. Homemade tomatoe sauce, homebread bread, homemade beans, best vegan sausages. lovely tea, good for all the family, and those needing to sit down. Great lunch menu too with pick n mix salad options.

Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff, must be the best cafe in Shrewsbury I have been to. Recommended for all not just vegans!

We had a lovely lunch at the Greenhouse cafe. I had delicious broccoli and stilton quiche with a lovely salad platter, and really good chocolate and beetroot cake. The cafe is upstairs but they have a lift off required.

Popped in for coffee and a cake but felt it was below par. The cake was overcooked (was limited to choice as I needed it to be gluten-fee) I was offered it half price but I think I was still charged full price as it was expensive. The man that worked there seemed to have an attitude and didn't look as though he wanted to be there.

Great place on your own with a book, couples or meeting a friend. Lots of space so feels safe. Friendly staff and delicious food

We called in on our way to Wales at 8.30 am in need of breakfast. Only one of us is vegetarian but we all really enjoyed the full breakfast and in particular the home made bread and baked beans.

Having enjoyed a tasty lunch recently we decided to try the monthly Saturday night dinner. Braving wild and wet weather with flood waters just about subsiding we received a very warm welcome from the owners and joined what appeared to be mainly regular customers. The live music was not intrusive and the atmosphere was relaxed. The family running the cafe are extremely friendly and the food was fantastic, lots of choice of hot dishes and a salad bar. Portions were very generous and we were encouraged to return to try anything we hadn't sampled the first time round. Being able to take our own drinks made for a very affordable Saturday night out.

Just being diagnosed with wheat intolerance I thought I would try this cafe.What a wonderful experience I had the most wonderful meal. I had Gluten free Moussaka with three beautiful side salads. For Desert I had the berry crumble with custard. 10/10 really really good, & after struggling to find a decent GF restaurant in SHREWSBURY I have finally found the best one.

Absolutely delicious lunch today, we had the leek mushroom and goat’s cheese lasagne, veggie moussaka and a superb salad selection to share. Divine pudding a pecan tart with cream/icecream. Lovely staff really friendly! We will be back soon.

Went here today with 2 friends (vegetarian)....had the most delicious lunch! We all had the goats cheese lasagne (excellent, and in a very creamy sauce) , and were provided with a bowl of salad for three. Not your usual couple of frayed lettuce leaves - cucumber, cabbage, mayo, cress, grated carrot.....a salad that takes time to prepare. Puddings were lovely: a torte, a crumble, and my chocolate cake with beetroot (seen in the pictures) - I have never tasted anything more chocolately!Shall certainly be back!

I’ve been to the GreenHouse cafe twice this week as the food is delicious! I had the moussaka and nut roast - both were extremely tasty. I love sitting by the window where I can ‘people watch’. Friendly atmosphere, highly recommended!

I was looking for a cafe which provided vegetarian & gluten free, this case cafe came up on internet search.Lovely place for a light lunch or coffee and cake! Staff very cheerful and helpful.Access is via stairs, didn't see a lift but maybe one, otherwise not appropriate for those with difficulties.

Go here often for a lovely meal with mum, always our go to place when we need a place for lunch. Staff are very friendly and polite and food is amazing.

Always a very friendly welcome and an array of colourful tasty salads to choose from to go with a selection of hot meals,gluten free and vegans very well catered for. If you aren't very hungry there's always some delicious soup on the go served with toasted gf bread or a hunk of delicious homemade bread for those not gf. If you have the room afterwards there are some fabulous deserts to choose from too, especially the fruit crumble in my opinion. Staff always attentive friendly and polite, plenty of seating and some good window seats to choose from if you are lucky, where you can watch the world go by! Give it a try, fab!!

On a day visit to Shrewsbury and looking for a light lunch we stumbled upon the Greenhouse. Lovely light and airy ambience, fresh veggie food and friendly service. A good choice for lunch.

Really enjoyed our brunch here. Good selection of food with healthy delicious salads on the side if wanted. Once a month there’s an evening opening...an all you can eat evening, take your own wine for £22. Got to be done.

Disappointing visit. Ordered simple meal of grilled cheese on toast. Long wait and when it arrived the bread was dry and burnt. Our visit was made worse by the dismissive attitude of the waiter. Won't be returning.

Popped in for breakfast with our dog - don't be put off by the entrance as when you get upstairs the space is really pretty, light and airy.

First time in Shewsbury. came across the GreenHouse, looked interesting, liked that it catered well for vegans and vegetarian and did home made food, Quices looked good, i liked the selection of salads and pasta, a extra £1. 25 i think, i opted for a fritata with red cabbage, not a big meal, however it was a delicious light lunch friendly staff , nicely decorated room . A pot of tea, loose tea was very nice too.

Second visit .. excellent food again .. mushroom goulash.. and vegetable bake .. with mixed salad .was the order if the day .. Andrew our waiter for the day provided good service throughout our enjoyable visit ..

Great place to have lunch. Centre of Shrewsbury but easily missed as is upstairs. Next door to Old Post Office pub.

I've had lunch here a couple of times with friends and my husband, and this restaurant ticks all the boxes for us. The food is delicious and wholesome, with plenty of vegan options and a great variety of freshly prepared salads to accompany your main choice. If you are lucky you will nab a table by the window and enjoy a view of the activlty below on the high street. And if not, there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the ambience.

Had brunch here this morning with my daughter. Nice, light room. Felt really clean and spacious. Fairly busy for a weekday morning so they have obviously already built up a good customer base. We didn't have anything particularly demanding - I had a vegan full english and my daughter had scrambled eggs, but the food was really good, well priced and service was brisk and friendly. Exactly what I want a decent cafe to be, and independent too. Well done boys! Will definitely be back! Noticed the sign saying that you do Saturday evenings once a month - so may well give that a go soon.

The food here is well prepared and attractively priced. The location is central to the town. Its unique feature is the eating area which is roomy and quirky with window tables which have an excellent view down over Shrewsbury High Street.

Had a few hours to kill in Shrewsbury and wanted to get something for lunch - I'm not a vegetarian but choose this place and wasn't disappointed. Excellent salad bar and service. I had a mixed veg oven bake topped with bread crumbs, gorgeous! Great to see a local Independent place doing so well - I was surprised how busy it was - until I started eating...

A Shrewsbury hidden gem and so it's well worth making the effort of climbing the stairs! The staff are really friendly and will go the extra mile to help you. Chocolate Torte- so delicious! And hot coffee (so many places in town serve it tepid!). I'll definitely go back for a main meal- wow aren't we lucky to have another veggie restaurant in Shrewsbury :-) I also notice they do monthly evening opening too.

Went here for lunch with a friend this week. Though we're not strictly vegetarian or vegan our diets do lean that way so we were hoping for something tasty and a little different from the usual pub fare.

Excellent home-made fare, enjoyed a super breakfast - will definitely be back, like tomorrow - very friendly and authentic venue (suits this historic town), highly recommended

This newly opened vegetarian cafe is a great addition in Shrewsbury. The food is very delicious, fresh and healthy and even if you are a meat lover you will enjoy it. It is a spacious venue, with nice ambience, and the staff are amazing. The food is tasty and pricing is extremely reasonable. Disabled access is great as there is a lift. Highly recommended.

The lads have made a really lovely lunchtime venue. Great to have somewhere 'safe' to go as a Vegetarian venue lovely and clean and great food.

I regularly pop in for a take away lunch time treat, the food is amazing.

Visited recently with a friend. We both enjoyed a quiche and shared a mixed plate of salad. The salads were delicious with lots of different flavours. Will visit again!

While staying in Shrewsbury for a short break we both wanted to enjoy some good quality vegetarian food which we found at The Greenhouse Cafe. We visited on our first morning for a full breakfast, it was so good that we were back every following morning before we had to leave Shrewsbury. We enjoyed the homemade beans, bread, smoothy and fruit juice along with eggs, sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes. Please very friendly service. We'll be back when next in the area.

Lovely Frittata and shared the salad samples of which everything was really tasty. Nice option to go for a veggie / vegan lunch. Not so many vegan options when we visited, hopefully more as the cafe grows. Nice find, we will be back to try breakfast!

Called in yesterday with my daughter, granddaughter and niece. We had a bit of lunch which was fabulous. Great view of the town from the window seat we had. The bake was so tasty, and the fruit crumble and vegan custard was to die for. We will be back to visit very soon.

Lunch with vegetarian friends, we decided on a change from the usual pubs. A bright but chilly Monday we appreciated the view over the High Street although we found the cafe with its high ceiling to be under heated. The food offering was very good and the choice of salads excellent, all freshly prepared and appetising. Service was good, considering that they were short staffed. We'd overlooked the fact that it was the school holidays and there were several indisciplined small children making their presence felt, not the fault of the establishment!

This is a great place run by a very enthusiastic and committed team. The menu is all vegetarian and not that extensive but there is something for everyone. The service is fantastic and the food freshly cooked and delicious and not the same fare as everywhere else. Reasonably priced too. They have a large 'hall' type seating area and the window seats have a good view of the passers by as it is on a first floor up some steep stairs but I believe there is access to a lift if needed. Only improvement would be on the coffees as perhaps their machine is not up to the very best but it is still very good and would be an expensive item for them to acquire. I think you will like this place if you like good, homemade vegetarian food. Great place to meet and chat too. Give it a go. Hope the place is successful as I think they do some evening events too.

It's quite hard to spot but it's a lovely environment and the food is reasonably priced and tasty. We would defiantly recommend to other families and people looking for a tasty cake and drink.

two visits now.....the airy and colourful space is complemented by a small and very tasty selection of food....enough choice to keep you coming back. The service is prompt and friendly so am looking forward to many more visits

Came across the GreenHouse Cafe purely by accident (we usually go to the coffee shop underneath) but after seeing diners upstairs thought we’d give it a try. Well that was 4 weeks ago and we haven’t been anywhere else for lunch when shopping in Shrewsbury. The food is amazing how do they pack so much taste into the frittata or the quiche? it’s just fabulous - not a huge menu but that always makes me feel as though it’s fresh and not dragged out of the freezer. Lovely fresh salads to pick from and super coffee. The staff/owners are a joy and I understand this is its new home and as far as we’re concerned it’s our go to place for lunch in Shrewsbury. We’re not Vegetarian but honestly who needs meat when plant based food tastes this good.

What a little gem, tucked away in Milk Street. Visited twice now and each time it’s been a great little surprise. The lads do the simple things well, tasty and well priced. The more notice this place gets the better.

what a great vegetarian cafe is hidden away up a flight of steps ..dont let the 10 or so steps put you off as theres also a lift ..... my tomato soup and home made bread was excellent for a quick lunch option .. the food options at the salad bar were good .. well worth finding this hidden vegetarian gem in milk street Shrewsbury ..

Home cooked vegan vegetable pie with gravy, peas and red cabbage. Coconut rice pudding with raisins. Warm homecooked food for a cold day, just the job.

We recently visited this cafe ,, very nice food and coffee ,, staff very friendly Lovely place to sit in the warm on a cold January day ,, Also couldn’t help noticing the quality of the lighting ,,, worth looking at when you visit

I was so glad to find this place, it’s easy to miss but persevere for a lovely treat. It’s pretty much the first building on Milk Street on the left as you turn into it. This is a new endeavour but the owners have many years of experience of cooking and running a business. Big open clean space, fab menu including cakes.

Everything is spot on. Plenty of vegan and gluten-free options. The guys that run the place are really friendly and great to talk to. I hope to frequent here as much as I can, there is a lovely relaxed atmosphere which you don't find at other cafes in town where staff are over-worked and a**-licking is expected of them... heart and soul is where it's at! Really hope they do well.

Had the most amazing meal at the greenhouse cafe today. My daughter can’t get enough of the spinach and goats cheese lasagne. My other daughter had the herby jacket which she said was delicious. I had the frittata so tasty and the salads are fresh and delicious so reasonable as well can’t wait to come again

As a lover of veggie meals and with so few purely vegetarian cafe/restaurant options in Shrewsbury, we decided to pay a visit to newly opened Greenhouse Cafe.

Great location cafe, open all day until 5pm. Big, open, fresh and spacious cafe area, relaxing and light with one of the best views of Shrewsbury town....MUST SEE!! Vegetarian food specialists, with all dish options cooked fresh on site. Staff were very professional and knowledgeable and keen to help and advise. Get an excellent home cooked meal for £6. Nice coffee and gluten free deserts too. 100% recommend the cafe for couples to large groups. Kid and baby friendly.

A lovely old building which had been given a new lease of life. The restaurant is upstairs, but there is also a lift. A friendly new enterprise in Shrewsbury town centre.

Vegetarian food here is really delicious and all homemade fresh! There is plenty on the menu to chose from including breakfast, lunches and some amazing deserts (we shared a chocolate cake which was just delicious!) It’s a beautiful space and Joel and George were both super welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend!

Recently visited here with my husband and 3 year old. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was fantastic. The food is full of flavour and filling. We are not vegiatrian or vegan, however really enjoyed it. Definitely be going again soon.

We live in Dorset but today we were in Shrewsbury visiting relatives. Our family was made to feel so welcome in this cool, new vegetarian restaurant. The food was delicious, ranging from a wonderfully warming chilli to a punchy pasta and a sensationally smooth jacket potato. The salads were fresh and vibrant and the chocolate orange cheesecake with ginger base was just incredible.

After moving from their previous location not far away they have opened a new cafe and it is great. These guy really understand vegetarian food and they are some of the best i have ever tasted. This is a new venture for them so they deserve all our support.

We heard that a new vegatarian cafe had opened and finally got round to visiting.Great selection of salads and hot food options.We had a great meal and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.The cafe was clean,lots of room and has a great views of the streets below.Suitable for families. We found it to be great value for money.We prefer to support locally run businesses rather than chains.

Only went in because I'd intended to go to the coffee shop next door and went in the wrong entrance!

Visited the cafe a week before Christmas. very spacious, didn't feel enclosed plenty of room around the tables, great views from the large windows overlooking the high street, good place to meet up with friends and family. Very welcoming friendly staff. ordered the stilton and broccoli quiche with choice of salads which was very tasty followed by the orange and chocolate torte which was delicious. both portions were very generous and good value for money. will definitely be visiting again.

Had a fantastic lunch here with some friends and family just before Xmas. Food was so tasty and love that it is all prepared and cooked on the premises (including home baked bread and all the wonderful desserts). The red pepper lasagne was yum and the fritatta was equally special. Also recommend the cheese and onion quiche and the huge herby baked potatoes. My daughter is coeliac and it was great to see some GF options on the menu. Lovely room with views down the High Street and although upstairs, it wasn’t a problem for my mate with her pram as there is a lift. I gather it is being run by the two brothers who used to cook at The Good Life and this is a new venture for them. They’re lovely lads, very warm and welcoming and they deserve to do well. I’ll be back!

Not good value. I ordered a frittata of the specials menu which was £3.70, which was tasty but the portion was tiny. The dish comes with no side, salad or garnish, you must pay either £1 for a very small portion of what look like tasty salads or £3 for a selection of each of the salads. Unfortunately, 4 of the 5 salads were tasteless, which for a vegetarian/vegan cafe is very disappointing!

We had heard of a new veggie/vegan place opening so sought it out after a busy morning’s shopping. My wife is vegetarian so we like to support such ventures.
