Very pleasant staff. Took our order and food prepared fairly quickly brought to the table. Two sizes of wraps. Check beside the till for the sample sizes. OK if you’re looking for something quick as a sit down or take out meal.

Just been to a 60th birthday party at Annie Maison. Jodie and her excellent team ensured a great night was enjoyed by all. Everyone enjoyed the party food and the atmosphere.

Friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. Dog friendly too.

My husband threw me a surprise birthday party at the Blacksmiths and we all had such an amazing time. The service was great and Sean and Tom (landlords) were even joining in and having fun with us. Sean and Tom were really accommodating. The room was perfect size and shape. Can’t complain at all and would definitely use the Blacksmiths for an organised party again.

Clearly understaffed and a lot of mistakes were made. Came for my wife’s birthday. It’s sad to see what was a nice place to so downhill. I must note though, the man who served us was nice and polite and nothing was too much trouble. Clearly out of his depth though with no sign of any other staff. The food was ok but took nearly an hour for starters to come out and when they did, they bought out the wrong thing. This was changed but had a short wait. The main meals didn’t take as long but my wife’s was cold and my daughter’s order was wrong. Again, this was rectified but was getting very frustrating. Personally I have a decent appetite but even I thought the portion size was ridiculous. It can be off putting having so much food. No room was left for puddings. We got the bill and instantly spotted an error with a £21.50 charge for the bread! Thankfully this was removed from the bill after the issue was raised. Overall a very disappointing trip for my wife’s birthday. Sad to see a place fall so far from grace.

possibly one of the best burgers i’ve ever had. fries were so good, salt and pepper seasoning was unreal. burger was so so tasty, best burger in the area by far and lovely staff

Hadn’t been before, and popped in. Annabelle and Jess couldn’t have been more helpful. Great recommendations, especially the green smoothie!

Was served in the bar by Rana she served clearly and had a great approach to customer service. Well served drinks and a genuinely pleasant bartender Thankyou.

Fantastic afternoon tea would highly recommend. A great selection of sandwiches and cakes in a lovely cafe atmosphere.

Lovey carvery with a good selection of vegetables and trimmings, beef, turkey, pork or gammon on offer . I had beef and pork and it melted in the mouth, massive Yorkie puddings and staff that couldn't do enough for you in a very busy environment.

Chose to order here instead of another dessert shop due to their poor service…didn’t realise it could be any worse than them. 2 hours later and still no food, several calls to the shop, lies from the staff, said they would call back then didn’t and turned the phone off. Not a single apology from this poorly run place. Nobody knew what was going on, no manager to speak to. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

What a turnaround! Last visited here a couple of years ago and have never felt so unwelcome in a pub in my life. Had heard that it had changed hands and WOW, what a change! Warm, welcoming and offering a superb range of cobs and pasties through the week and homemade hot options Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The food is truly excellent value for money, very generous portions of fresh, quality ingredients, really good freshly made coffee too. My friends and I were made truly welcome with our three dogs, and somewhat damp boots, even to the extent that they came out to make a fuss of the dogs and offer treats! Made time to engage with us despite the pub being busy (which in itself is testament to the turnaround they have achieved). I often walk my two dogs along the canal here and it is lovely to know that I can now call in here with them for a coffee and a cob and feel welcome. Keep up the excellent work, we need more pubs like this offering good old fashioned value for money and friendly service.

Good service with nice decor and friendly staff. Good choice on menu hot and cold and I had a window shop in the cake area. Had Welsh Rarebit and Eggs Benedict and delicious. One poached egg slightly hard but as a person who doesn't make them as know it is hard to time consistency still good.

I couldn’t believe the price for a sausage roll nothing special not even a large one £1.30 can’t see any reason for this high price

Lovely coffee and the food is always fresh,tasty and well presented. Joy and Debbie are just great with all their customers- very friendly, always helpful. We always look forward to our visits
