Been here many times,good to sit outside in summer watching the world go by.. Close to shops. fair price for drinks. There are really nice staff behind the bar, especially on Saturday 6th January. 5pm onwards. Always smiling.

Where do I start This place has seriously gone downhill since the previous people left Never opens up on time For the last 2 weeks haven’t had any Carlsberg The people that are running it now are rude and condescending They have upset most of the regulars that used to go in there Won’t be wasting my time and good money when there are far better pubs in the area I would give this place a big miss if were you

I came across this gem of an establishment by accident and I am so glad I did. Louise and Nigel (landlady and landlord) were both welcoming and accommodating. Ryan who was on bar duty was absolutely tremendous. There are a wide choice of lagers and ales available. I had the Guinness which was superb. There is a jukebox in the bar which is frequently used but not overpowering. There is a pool table in the smaller room and sports on TV. The pub is dog and family friendly with a really relaxed atmosphere and the banter from the locals is nothing short of hilarious. Thank you Louise,Nigel, Ryan et al for a fantastic afternoon. A lad from Manchester and came in for the first time and all I can say is what a warm welcome from Dennis. I must say one of the best pubs in uttoxeter.

Good atmosphere at the smithfield. Friendly staff 😊 good choice of drinks and offers to keep you in. Pool and darts I'm the smaller bar to keep us entertained. Thanks again 😊

Lovely pub, all locals and bar staff are very welcoming and great atmosphere!! They have entertainment on every other month which brings in new people. Get yourselves down there and have a drink!!

This place is absolutely amazing....the staff and the landlady Lou are fabulous....such a warm and friendly welcome to anyone who walks in....nothing is too much trouble....the best pub in Uttoxeter by far....can't recommend it enough xx

Had a couple of drinks here with family, just a pity it was later on our last night visiting the area as the barman and the customers were all really lovely and made us feel so welcome, in particular one lovely female customer , I didn't quite catch her name, how nice for a pub to have regulars as nice and friendly as she and her friends were. The prices here are very reasonable too, just over £14 for 3 bottles of flavoured cider, a blue wkd and a bottle of coca cola. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Five stars all round 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Finished off a day out in this bar. Sadly no real ale; possibly been drunk dry on a busy weekend plus England women winning Euro's. (Marston's pub.) Locals had clearly been partying. Finished night off with double G & T's.

could do with a bit of a makeover but the staff are very friendly and polite drinks are very reasonably priced worth a visit.

Prior to using the facilities with my disabled son, we were challenged if we were going to buy a drink, to which I replied we might; was then followed into toilets by the aggressive rude male 'owner/manager' who berated us for not having bought one at that point. Wouldn't buy a drink there now if I was paid to.

Really great pub. The owners are really friendly. And there's a great atmosphere. It's really clean. And even has box's on the top of the loo of the things that laies may need once a month. Dogs are welcome. It's kid friendly..And you're made to feel really welcome.

Absolutely love it here at the smithfield! Brilliant atmosphere and all the customers get along! Better now than it has ever been! And iv been drinking in here for years now. Lou and nige have turned the place around for the better!!! And it's nice have a pee in luxury with the added bonus of the hand-wash and paper towels etc

Very nice toilets and they have everything you need and staff are great, friendly and manage to control customers with ease with Customers that won’t abide by the restrictions in place. Brilliant Atmosphere and will definitely visiting again

The beer and company were very good but felt the outside was below par for anyone wanting a smoke.

Nice (really) small pub, Reasonably priced also has a Dart Board. We stopped off @ uttoxeter for pre match drinks on the way to stoke, most fans headed straight to weatherspoons but they couldn't handle all the Wednesday fans so stopped serving yet this one lone bar man kept the alcohol flowing.

Beer cloudy and tasteless but was changed.

I love it..... gets a few stinky dogs in now and again.... burn it take bugger sniffs it's gone quickly. Beer ace toilets sound (now) I'll be going again I'm sure!!

Very friendly local pub in the town centre. Drinks are cheap and beer is well looked after. Entertainment at the weekend is good too!

Punters threatened to assult me and my boyfriend as we passed the Smithfield, blatant homophobia. Not the sort of place I'd like to go.

This Hotel has a very friendly atmosphere, and is a proper locals pub, with a darts team. They unfortunately do not provide any cooked food, but filled rolls are available on weekends only.
