Great tour of the mine. Very interesting and informative. The guide was really good at explaining and he is clearly very passionate about what he does.. You can visit the site for free and without booking, but if you want to go on the mine tour you need to book and pay online via the website. Just beware that the café closes much earlier than advertised and also that some of the information on the website is out of date, including the café menu.

Recommended by the local Dean's Wood campsite with a caveat of it being 'rustic', we enjoyed a very tasty excellent value for money meal and drinks. Our dogs were welcome, and the Land Lady was lovely. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for all weather. With a small play area available for children. Watch out for the local sheep wandering the roads and verges!

We called here for a late lunch on the 4th Tuesday in September .We ordered 1 of the specials on the menu which include jacket potato & chilli? I and I had the large breakfast. My wife really enjoyed her meal as did I the full english although bacon a bit hard-eggs cooked to perfection. The flat whites weren’t really flat whites & tasted more like instant coffee. Overall very good food & service A great village location

Lovely pub, hidden away up a lane, with welcoming staff, cosy interior and pretty hanging baskets. Beer garden was a bit run down - bits of crisp packets and dog crap - but looked like pub exterior was being done up, so maybe garden is next project, shame noone had been out to check and clear it up though. Would definitely go again, as such a gem of a country pub that hasn't been turned into a trendy eatery. Have heard they do great food and decent price too. Great location.

Lovely community pub, great friendly atmosphere. Stopped for a quick drink and ended up wining, eating mains and desserts. Fresh Hake with garlic prawns and chorizo on crushed new pots. Affordable Prices . Really good food and great service. Thanks guys Be back again.

This place doesn't look that good from the front, so we were sceptical upon entering. But I guess the phrase 'never judge a book..' is reality. Staff were very accommodating to us and friendly, happy to do the food just how we wanted it and quite a nice place to sit in, kept fairly clean.

We went on Mother’s Day and made a pretty last minute reservation. We went towards the end of the day. The food was as good as if we had been the first order of the day. Everything was freshly cooked and everything was absolutely perfect. The only downside was that we didn’t have room for dessert! Dee and her team are always friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. Our favourite pub without a shadow of a doubt!

The ladies were friendly and despite a gigantic launch the previous day, they managed to provide cakes and buns for us all.

It was my Hen Do on the weekend and my sister and friends had organised a brunch booking at this lovely café on the Sunday. Our waitress, Emelie made the experience extra special from the moment she started serving us. She came over with a big smile and said congratulations to me, which was appreciated. Then, when I went to order the blueberry pancakes, which they had sadly just sold out of (I’m not surprised, they looked delicious!), she went above and beyond to find me something similar to eat. At first, she offered me the kid’s pancakes which consisted of one pancake, a banana, and maple syrup. This sounded delicious, so I decided to go for that along with some mushrooms on sourdough toast as I thought it might be quite little, and to be honest, I was torn between the two anyway! However, when our orders came out, Emelie not only delivered the kid’s pancakes, but between her and the chef, they had managed to make it an adult sized portion (so I was rather full after my mushrooms on toast, too, such a treat!) with two pancakes, banana, maple syrup, along with some Greek yoghurt and berry compote they had managed to find. I was taken aback by how thoughtful this gesture was and it made my Hen Do brunch all the more special. After we’d finished eating, Emelie noticed us trying to take a selfie of all of us (with varying degrees of success!) and she kindly offered to take a photograph of us all (she took loads and we got some really great shots). Everything about Emelie’s service was exceptional and the food was amazing too. I’d also really recommend the banana milkshake - yum! We would definitley return to this delightful café :)
