As strangers in town just looking for a coffee we came across the cafe and struck gold, wasn’t expecting the classy atmosphere nor the friendly welcome. Great coffee and toasties, sorry we don’t live nearby. From what we saw later a cut above the norm in this town, sorry Lydney.

Coffee Local is an excellent place to meet friends. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is delicious, very tasty and beautifully presented. Not only are the cakes fantastic so also are the savoury dishes and sandwiches. Afternoon tea is also a must......

A tucked away, unassuming cafe well worth a visit. Spacious inside with chairs and tables in the courtyard . Well away from traffic and noise. A little gem.

Really dissapointed with my visit. I arrived at 2.30pm to be instantly told that they close at 3pm, not exactly a welcoming greeting. I was then told they don't serve food after 2pm only cake!!. Had a coffee which was very nice but will not be returning

Coffee Local is the best watering hole in Lydney. Friendly owners and staff with excellent coffee. Following lockdown etc they are slowly getting back to normal.

We called in yesterday for a late lunch. It felt very safe and clean, with plenty of space between seats. We sat on a lovely, squashy sofa, drank good coffee and enjoyed our flatbreads very much - all for a reasonable price. Such a lovely place to find!

Visited today with my partner ,had decaf coffee and toast , had excellent service from the lady with the glasses , definitely be back . The establishment was very clean and welcoming .

Thought I had left a review months ago, just checked and realised I hadn't... Paul & Gorgina always look after you, the shop is clean and welcoming with lovely service.The food and drinks are fresh and first-class and Paul does an excellent job of keeping it full and fresh.Wouldnt have any hesitation to ever recommmed this place to anyone. Popped in the other day with my book as I had an hour or so to kill. I got a flat white and sat peacefully. Lovely staff, food and atmosphere.

Great coffee, great food and great ambience. All in all a great place to go. Flatbreads are wonderful and cakes are all covered and pristine. I can’t fault it and the staff are friendly and efficient. You’d be hard pushed to find a table that hasn’t been cleaned up once it becomes free.Excellent, excellent, excellent!

Thought the coffee was marvelous. I live in Spain and thought that I would never find coffee as good as it is in Spain here in Lydney. I will be back.😎

I called in here on a cold day, seeking lunch. It was a good choice. There was a friendly welcome, the interior of the cafe is very clean and interesting, and the menu is varied, with foods of various kinds, hot and cold, to tempt you.I thought this a most interesting cafe, not what I expected in this small town, but a very welcome change from the regular run of small town cafes. Top marks for trying so hard. Excellent.

What can I say except WOW!! I enjoy a coffee here often but as 2 of us have birthdays this month we decided to go for afternoon tea instead of an evening meal. We pre booked, not a problem. Arrived and a table had been reserved for us.Georgina made us extremely welcome, took our drinks order and then started bringing out the food. We were blown away when we saw it. There was a variety of savoury foods, sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls, cheese scones etc the most wonderful spicy chicken, chorizo and tomato on a bed of lettuce all freshly made aswell as a fantastic selection of cakes. I'm currently at 8.30pm finishing off the cakes I brought home!! 10/10 for the food, atmosphere and service. I'm sure if it hadn't come to closing time we would have stayed longer, catching up.

I have been going for a coffee here for some time. I went in for a spot of lunch and a coffeewith my laptop and I was refused a plug because they didn't want people staying there that long and taking the mik. I had no intention of staying a long time I had some minor business to attend to while having my lunch. This has always been a convenient place to get a lovely coffee however this has changed my opinion.

Nice coffee selection, even though a little pricey!. Nice indoor and outdoor areas to drink your coffee. Nice staff who will defo go out of there way to help you. Can’t say enough good things. Clean and tidy bathroom as well, so well cleaned on a daily basis. So if you are in the area then go have a coffee or two !!?. Get your bums down to coffee local

Great atmosphere, very friendly staff always nice and welcoming, the choice of food keeps getting better and better and the cakes are to die for!! Well worth a visit.

This outlet, hidden in an arcade, is a gem and very popular with the locals. The coffee is good, but the meals and service are outstanding. I last visited in October 2018, when I had a very tasty panini with a liberal garnish of salad. For me, it is this garnish that sets the meal apart. This is no saggy lettuce offering but a comprehensive range of cold salady veggies with a tasty dressing. Unbeatable!

Lovely place to have coffee and cake, comfortable seating and a welcoming atmosphere. Their panini's are great value and very tasty, coming with a fresh cut salad and a small bag of crisps when taking away. Brilliant local coffee shop.

What a find this place produced the nearest thing to a perfect Yorkshire pudding. See has the chef hails from London that'sa credit to him The coffee was near perfect, so please keep this oasis in Lydney to yourself as I do not want it to fill up too soon till I have had my fill. WELL DONE......

Only went into here because of people going in and out. Entrance from the high street looks like aeverything inside is closed. DON'T BE PUT OFF! Go inside and enjoy friendly staff, eclectic furniture, excellent food and generous portions. Lovely

Ordered a flat white and came in a large cup, twice the size a flat white should be. The coffee tasted like cigarette butts, by far the worst coffee i have ever tasted.

Love this coffee shop. Friendly staff, great coffee and according to the kids the best milkshakes ever! Being gluten free it’s nice to be able to have a lovely selection of cakes too. Would recommend to anyone. Only downside...they don’t open on Sundays.

This cafe is a lovely spot for a meet up with friends, or for a relaxed study session as I have often found! The drinks and food are great, if a little pricey at times, but with the recent refurb and menu updates, plus unusual and varied fresh baked goods, I think it’s worth treating yourself!

Lee & I are regulars & go out of our way to get THE BEST coffee in the area - Lee loves Paul's gateauxs & goodies, I demolish the savories, paninis, tea cakes etc.We have no qualms about taking friends of all ages as it is ALWAYS friendly - even Paul struggles to be his characature Mr. Grumpy some days! ALL the staff are cheery & helpfull and the atmosphere is excellent with banter and conversation in free flow between clients & the management.Service is always prompt however intimidating the queue might look. Even when it is very busy, which being the best cafe for miles is often, you will never be rushed & are clearly welcome to take your time.Thank-you George, Paul & your team.Greg_L-W.

Came here today, it was fairly busy, but it was around lunch time.Me and my partner ordered a panini each and a coffee. And we just couldn’t fault it. Service speed was amazing and quick. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.What more could you ask for?Oh, and it was reasonably priced. So no qualms there.

It's our hidden little gem in Lydney food and service always excellent. Took my son and grandsons for lunch on Friday and again they could not do enough to accommodate the little ones.

We stumbled across this gem of a coffee shop by recommendation from a local we stopped in the street. Nice selection of everything you'd expect from such an establishment coupled with good prices. The stand out feature though is the welcome and service you can expect from the owners and staff. We misjudged the availability of local transport/taxis but still caught our train thanks to the assistance afforded is by the owners. We'll be back. Definitely worth the visit.

Fabulous coffee shop/delicatessen. Amazing food, lovely sandwiches and light meals and the most delicious cakes, all made by the resident chef. A family business that makes you feel very welcome time after time. If you want cheap and cheerful go to Greggs, but if you you want something really tasty and beautifully presented as a treat, this is definitely the place to go.

Visited with my sister and brother in law. Had a great bacon roll. Sister had prawn sandwich.brothen in law toasted tea cake. Pot of tea had plenty enough for a generous top up. Excellent side salad with coulslaw. Very welcoming and friendly staff made a real effort to make sister and her guide dog feal at home.
