The coffee House in Forest of Dean

The ladies were friendly and despite a gigantic launch the previous day, they managed to provide cakes and buns for us all.

New owner , friendly and very obliging great coffee . tea and cheese scones . Much improved menu and a superb place to rest a while with a drink and a snack

Passing through Lydney on the way home from Cirencester and fancied a break and a drink. Seems like this place was the only cafe open this Sunday. Its right in the park so lots of fresh air and views while you have your drinks. We even saw (and heard) an old steam train passing the other end of the park Outside tables only right now but it was a lovely sunny day and we had a dog with us so it suited us. Drinks and cake were all good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Street parking available. Will visit again when next passing.

Lovely Ice-creams good quality and plenty of choice, friendly staff always seems busy. Nice choice of sandwiches and daily specials.

Great friendly staff, nice choice on the menu and plenty of places to sit outside in the park. And there is a lovely choice of ice creams which the kids love!

Went here this week for the first time since it changed hands and although it was fine, it wasn't as great as it used to be. Hardly any selection of cakes like before, no jacket potatoes available, limited ice creams. What we had, (toastie and ham sandwich, crisps & drinks) was perfectly acceptable but just not great like it was before.

Great choice for the menu nice fresh food, items for the kids to play with. Friendly and helpful staff.

Coffee house offers a decent selection of sandwiches and drinks. Unfortunately it lies just inside a No Dog zone, created to protect toddlers from irresponsible owners. There is nowhere to leave the dog so lost trade for them and no food for me. Perhaps replacing the fence around the cooler house would be best of both worlds.

Had a great lunch with my daughter. They even came out to double check how I like my coffee (as I am fussy) - the coffee came and was perfect! Food was lovely including some fantastic cake!

On a quick visit to Lydney we happened on Bathurst Park and during our stroll round the park stopped at the cafe for coffee and a snack. There was a wide choice of snacks and cakes, we opted for coffee and a cake. The drinks were brought to us as we sat outside very promptly - although the hot chocolate was slightly too sweet for my taste the cakes were lovely. The prices were very reasonable.

The coffee house was very very busy however the staff didn't rush us and got our food out quickly. They had run out of part of the special sandwich (apple sauce) but replaced it with coleslaw and BBQ sauce with no extra charge and without us having to ask. The food was of very good quality and not overpriced considering its the only option at the park unless you walk into town. Would highly recommend it!

Sandwiches and chips all freshly made are good too. Never fails to hit the spot. Good service, sit in or outdoors. Cheerful staff.

Very well run by a good manager. Nice staff, professional and friendly. Good selection of drinks and food. Value for money. Nice location, clean & tidy - plenty of parking.

We have been a few times previously and although slightly overpriced for what you get (portion sizes very small and with literally what is written on the menu no garnish etc) the service and convenience has outweighed. The last twice however this has not been the case! We went a week ago and we're constantly asked wether we wanted the table cleared, the cafe was not busy and table not wanted, I understand they don't want to leave people with dirty glasses but having to tell them 4 times was slightly excessive! (We had bought a few bottles and we're sharing them between glasses for us all) We then went to order cakes and they cleared the tables with full glasses and bottles..... when I said to staff no apology or reimbursement for what they had taken! Went again today with a friend, just had cakes and drinks and didn't move from table!!! Ordered cakes and icecream along with coffee and when asked if my order was complete I relayed there was also a coffee to ensure everything was there and being paid for to be met with a very snotty reply that she couldn't do everything at once....... I found this very rude and unprovoked! I have worked in the industry most of my life and know how stressful it can be along with how awkward costumers can be however I make a point of not being that customer so to be met with someone being that rude when I trying to make sure I am paying for my entire bill really annoyed me! Spoilt my afternoon out with the kids and a treat tarnished!! Next time I will stop by tesco on the way, get better service and save a lot of money!!

Good mix on the menu, lovely ice-creams. Also toys available for the younger kids to play with. Staff friendly and courteous.

First class food and drinks oh and ice creams. The chikdren will love the park with all the activities so have a coffe and snack on arrival and something to eat before going home. You will thoroughly enjoy

The Chicken and Chorizo sandwich was just divine. Fresh bread and juicy. Gorgeous filling. Lovely staff and great play area for kids. If they had wifi it would be the perfect place. Can't wait to go back!

Enjoyed lunch here with friends, lovely sandwiches with lovely fresh salad. Good choices of hot and cold food, great beveridges and cakes too. Lovely find in Lydney park.

You must try the Ice Cream its absolutely fantastic, creamy and full of flavour. We tried the Chocolate, Mint Choc Chip & Vanilla. Friendly staff and service with a smile.

This is just a great find, set within the beautiful park in Lydney is a lovely coffee shop with a great choice of food and drink and very friendly staff, the coffee served and large selection of homemade cakes are delicious. I can highly recommend the homemade soups & carrot cake. There is also a great menu for children and they will love the old fashioned milkshakes served in a bottle. A definite must when visiting the park in Lydney. It is also spotlessly clean and very plesant to sit inside or out. We will definitely be returning.

an unexpectedly superb coffee an drakes in the centre of the local park. I should have expected it to be more like the old 1950's café tea and plastic topped tables, but surprisingly I am sure I could have happly spent an hour or two whiling away the afternoon

The Coffee House is in the middle of the large green area of Lydney's wonderful Bathurst Park.

Much improved since the previous owners , great ambience, good coffee and friendly staff, worth a visit when you enjoy a superb local park
