The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Portsmouth South East

Visited on 20 Dec 24. I’m probably not rapscallions ideal customer as I don’t drink but I found the atmosphere to be awful. The decor is tacky and I found it something like a bunker decorated with pirate memorabilia. I ordered a steak kebab and when it arrived it was cold. I didn’t complain at the time as I was with friends and didn’t want to cause a fuss. I wouldn’t visit out of choice

A cafe done well! The food and drinks were excellent and the conversation equally so. I went in for an escape from the rain and was pleasantly surprised

I’m not sure if they have new staff if or all other reviews were by family /friends?? We visited this morning and to be honest the service was awful, 4 of our party had finished their breakfast before the 5th member had been served and then we had to remind them. Food was served on cold plates and was at best luke warm. Hash browns were soggy and greasy, Garlic flavoured soggy mushrooms??? And when a partial refund was requested the manager who was not on site refused!! A little short sighted if you want to keep your customers 3 of us have eaten here a few times but due to the above will never eat here again and probably take our custom to the cafe directly opposite.

We tend to arrive at the train station earlier so that there will be time for tea and coffee before departure. Nice staff and service, coffee is excellent. I understand they have moved to another location!

Second oldest pub in Portsmouth and it is the highlight of the place. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The room is small with wonky electricity and plumbing,but I guess one must expect that in a 300 year old building. The wifi works well. Staff are businesslike. I wouldnt stay here again,but I'm glad I had the experience.

What a great find! Craving some decent and different veg and vegan food we were recommended mangosteen. We were not disappointed! Turning up on a Saturday night without a reservation we knew we were chancing it, but, after a quick check with the kitchen, we were seated, given a menu, a smile and a ginger and turmeric shot 😋. We decided on small plates with the intention of returning for large plates in the future if we enjoyed this visit. Safe to say, we will be returning! Drinks were cold and well priced, staff were friendly, restaurant was well set out without feeling crammed in. However... The real star of the show... The food! We ordered the krab rolls, chilli mushrooms, dumplings, bang bang broccoli, braised leeks and miso cabbage. Could have done with an extra dumpling in the portion, but that's because ' Joey doesn't share food! ' 🤣🤣 The broccoli was great, I've had cauliflower wings before, but never broccoli and they worked really well! The food was fresh, hot, complimented well with sauces and well presented but the star of the show, and I never thought I'd say this, was the miso cabbage! What wizardry you worked on this I will, somehow, discover, but it was perfectly cooked, not raw, not overcooked and soggy, just perfect! It's safe to say that, had we not been in a public setting, we would have licked the plate clean, the sauce was epic! We cannot wait to return and try the beetroot gnocchi and thali. See you soon!

Excellent service .good menu too. Plenty of choice. Staff very friendly. Well priced. Becoming a regular lunchtime venue.

I ordered the quick breakfast 2, 15mins later the waitress came out with set 2 2 meal on the menu, amother 10-15mins later out quick breakfast 2 waited another 5mins later the brown toast which which was so underdone it was like brown bread & butter not toast lol.

Rubbish !! The guy in the kitchen showed disrespect and started shouting ! When I tried to explain to him that my plate is missing a chicken skewer, and I was correct at the end.

Great food, great atmosphere, great song list! But the staff make the businesses. Incredibly welcoming and warm staff and service.

Frequently visit Moggys as the breakfast are superb and the staff are always so lovely and welcoming. No place better.

My wife and I used Sweet Cakes to provide the cake and cupcakes for our wedding last year. Throughout the whole process, Chris & Ali were very friendly & helpful. They listened to our requests and created a design which we were very happy with. We had a couple of queries along the way and they were polite whenever we needed to speak with them. Not only did the cake and cupcakes look incredible, they tasted just as good as they looked. Genuinely some of the best cake I've ever had, if not the best. Thank you to Sweet Cakes for making this part of our wedding so so easy. Amazing quality service, brilliant cake and very competitive pricing too. We'd highly recommend these guys for your wedding cake needs, and they also have brilliant cupcakes available in store.

Lovely cafe with great atmosphere and nice decor and furnishings. The coffee is delicious and they have a nice variety of food including vegan options. Always seems to be buzzing with customers which is sign that’s it’s very lovely place. Staff are friendly and welcoming which is always a bonus. Fast becoming my regular coffee place!
