Nice premises serving quality food went in for brekkie namely full english and eggs bendict, I did give 3 observations on leaving, got lots of nodding, which probably means I ain't paying attention. But here they are. 1,Full english served like a stacked burger all on top of your toast which is immediately nice and soggy. Might be trendy but a really naff idea. 2.Tea served with oversize teabag level drops 25% when you remove it, you feel cheated plus you have nowhere to park this dripping mess. A small dish for waste teabags would solve this rather than trying to use the saucer. 3.When you have brekkie most people want 2/3 cups but they charge per cup at £2.20 We limited ourselves to 2 but would have preferred 3 especially when you lose so much on bag removal. Ended paying £8.80 of £25+bill for tea. I suggest take lesson from Tate Liverpool cafe. Apart from that great quality, loved the bacon

First time ever in this pub in all the years I've lived here. Friendly atmosphere from patrons and barmaid, made us feel very welcome.

Parked in what we thought was the free pub car park, received a parking fine for £100 one week later. We arrived when it was pitch black and due to COVID restrictions couldn't leave our table once we were seated. Hence, we didn't have a clue we had to pay to park. The staff didn't mention it to us at any point. Strange considering how many terrible reviews they're getting for the exact same reason? Why oh why.

Sunday Lunch was really good. Booked a table, but was placed on a table just in the extension so the thoroughfare between the main part and the extension which isn't a great table and the whole place felt cold. Went with elderly parents and the younger generation but we were all cold, which is something I have experienced before here, as I have frequented this location on various occasions. It would be a more enjoyable experience if it was a bit more warm and cosy. Next time when I book I will request a table in the main part.

Awful. Walked in spent 15mins stood at an empty bar waiting to be served and decided to leave. The clientelle there that night were scary to say the least, we were approached by a very drunk, angry girl as we walked in who seem to want to fight with everyone, she knocked a hat off someone's head and hit my friend in the face. This seemed to be the norm in there that night. Not a good experience wouldn't want to go back.

We had a fabulous Sunday lunch, and as a child the options I was given were fabulous .The staff were amazing especially the staff member Jungan and she served us all amazingly and definitely made us all feel really well looked after. All of the views were fabulous.

We've not been to this location in a number of years but it is still nice and the town is lovely. We arrived early (after having come from an errand) but the kitchen stated they would happily do up my lunch order a bit early (Chicken fingers with that excellent BBQ sauce and way too many chips but so good too!) The service was friendly and fast, the restaurant clean (but a couple of tables could have used clearing of items left from breakfasts served.) The restrooms although a bit of a trek up 3 flights of steps were clean and the whole experience at this Wetherspoons was very good! (Also we really enjoy their spiced up chips...could go a little spicier though!)

Visited this cafe a couple of years back and the food was really good, value for money and the place was clean and well run. To say my lunchtime experience today was different is an understatement. There were lots of tables that had not been cleared it cleaned. I felt sorry for the two young girls who were trying hard to take orders and keep things ticking over. At least 3 tables walked out whilst we were waiting to order. I had a tuna mayonnaise sandwich with cucumber, the cucumber was extra. When the sandwich came it was clearly on value brown bread, a tiny bit of side salad and a teaspoon of coleslaw for £7..95 is not value for money in my eyes! The coffee was good but that was the only positive. Such a shame as this used to be a nice place.

We came for our breakfast and as expected we both enjoyed it. Wetherspoons food is always good which is why we keep using them. We both had different breakfasts but both loved them as usual. It's a pleasure to have it made for you. Well done guys, we will be back I'm sure.

Bad custom service! The woman behind the bar was rude with a nasty attitude. The locals were drunk and loud by 8.45am and made it uncomfortable. Overall the woman behind the bar really let this place down. I won’t be coming back . Only this one person has this manner , the other spoons no issues. She was even talking to the locals about us and making sure we could hear her . Just plain and simple out of order!!

Having visited Grange River Cafe, I am at a loss to reconcile the poor reviews which I have read. I have visited this beautiful cafe on several occasions over a number of years both with my family/ children and as a solo walker, at the end of many a walk in the Borrowdale area, I have always looked forward to ending my walk sitting having tea and scones on a fine day or one of the excellent homemade soups on a wet one. I have spent many a good conversation with both the Lady and Gentleman owners who have always been not only courteous, but engaged in good conversation.
