Just want to say how lovely it was to go here with friends for a Christmas lunch. It was absolutely beautiful and the serves was brilliant as well. Seeing we had booked ahead they had reserved us a table as well. The greeting we received from Anita was lovely and through the whole time she served us nothing seemed to be any trouble to her. I think you are very lucky to have such a lovely employee as Anita working for you she really is an asset to you. With her beginning so professional we are going to organise to bring a group from our church here for our Christmas meal in 2026. Thank you Anita for making us feel so welcome.

Excellent afternoon tea definitely value for money. Good surroundings pleasant staff. The only negative comment I have is no one came and asked if we needed more tea or coffee or hot water which we did as it takes a couple of ours to enjoy the wonderful food.

We met up for brunch and were very happy with the experience. Good service, hot and tasty food, and reasonable prices. Good location for travelling up and down the A49, as well as for locals. Plenty of parking.

Visited on a Friday afternoon whilst travelling through the area. The Garden centre is very run down and looks like it needs demolishing. Visited the cafe and ordered 2 sandwiches and coffees. The sandwiches took over 30 minutes to arrive despite the cafe being fairly quiet and after 2pm. Heaven knows what the wait is at busy times. The awful experience was completed by a visit to the toilets which meant walking through water soaked plastic turf! The only plus point was that the staff seemed helpful and friendly. Unlikely to return.

Decided to try the cafe here for lunch. Food was lovely. Staff were friendly. Chicken Tikka Salad and Brie and Bacon Ciabatta with two coffees was good value and delicious. However this was spoilt by dogs barking loudly. To be honest we were glad to leave. There is a separate dog owners area but the dogs were barking at each other and everyone could hear them. Won't be using the cafe again I'm afraid unless dogs are outside only.

I am really concerned for the welfare of the staff that have to work in this garden centre due to the appalling conditions of the leaking roof. I went in at Christmas and there was flooding / leaks inside the store. I went back today and again there were leaks. Nothing has been done to fix the roof. The company has a duty of care to its employees. One of the jumpers on the racks for people to buy was literally dripping. Unfortunately I can’t load the video of this but have taken a photo of just one of the leaks. I refuse to go back to this garden centre until the company get their roof fixed.

For context Sunday lunch at the carvery only cost us £25 and at that price in todays UK it serves the purpose of feeding people who cannot afford better. The roast gammon was very good. The vegetables had been boiled to death. The Yorkshire pudding was overcooked and utterly flavourless. I would expect better in a prison. Staff very nice but overworked. Stupid arrangements at the till, being obliged to wait in line for people ordering drinks and puddings to collect a ticket for the carvery. Garden centre prices several times higher than other chains and very limited and pedestrian plants. Rubbish rip off place. Don't go there.

Lunched here with my sister on 25/1. So pleased to find a good selection of gluten free options, with bread available for the sandwiches. Even better was the staff awareness, the sandwich came with chips and before I even had chance to ask, the lady serving said "you will be wanting those gluten free too" and confirmed they would be done in a separate fryer. Refreshing and reassuring to know they understand about cross contamination. I will be returning. Thank you.

Quite a 'ramshackle' building to start with, very tatty all round. Hard to believe when looking up at the dirty perspex roofing with leaks everywhere that it is still open for business. The cafe however looks much more modern but today, it wasn't a good experience. £2.49 for approximately 10 thick chips, which were tasteless, except for the cheap tasting oil they had been fried in. £1.20 for a tablespoon of beans. Don't get me started on the price of the cakes, one of which purchased had a long hair through it for good measure. No serviettes, apparently 'ran out'. Seating area dirty. I was reluctant to go again as it was after one of the shop assistants on my last visit was quite rude to my young daughter at the check-out, a middle-aged woman with long dark hair and lots of make up, a loud voice to go with it, must enjoy bullying young girls with the rude way she spoke to my daughter when my girl, who was smiling up at her, tried to be helpful in handing her the ticket on the item we were purchasing for her to scan. In hindsight, I should have pulled her to one side to have a word with her to point out her unacceptable non-existent customer service skills. How horrible. Wish we hadn't bothered going again and wasting good money on sub-standard food, suffice to say, we will not ever be going there again.

I would like to praise the lady who was clearing the tables in your Tarporley cafe yesterday morning. She was watching the whole room all the time with spray and cloth in hand, quietly and efficient ready to clear the tables as soon as customers had gone. She was tall and slim with grey hair and was doing a really excellent job! We were also served very quickly and the prices are reasonable compared to one or two places we have been to. Your friendly, doggy area is a wonderful idea too. Thank you.

Has been about 5 years since I last visited here. Was only going to give ** after waiting 25 mins for toast and a sausage sandwich, however that over with, it was a lovely restaurant. The garden ctre itself was fantastic. Fully stocked pots , plants, indoor and out, tremendous selection available. The Christmas area was ‘excellent’. Will definitely come here again.

Been here a few times now and never ever been disappointed, the food here is excellent no doubt about it. I'm an ex farm worker and always found something to grumble about but not here. The Cheese sandwich with chips is amazing as all the other food is. There is a little section in the cafe that is dog friendly that's where we sit. It well worth a visit we travel from Llandudno in Wales for a look around garden centre and for lunch here. Plants etc can be a bit on the high price side but the cafe is value for money trust me!

Eaten at the restaurant on a number of occasions, we take our little dog and have always had a chats with other dog owners. Sometimes there is a queue for food but it is a popular place to eat. Staff always lovely and polite and the carvery is delicious. You buy your drink and ticket at the main till , then go to the carvery to pick up your food and choose what you want . Daughter always has a burger and chips and always been delicious too . Love going for a walk around the garden centre after and I will keep returning as I do enjoy it.

Had a lovely afternoon here on Sunday. Roast carvery for lunch, choice of Roast beef, gammon or turkey with lots of veggie choices and trimmings plus a yummy cake. My mums favourite place to come, friendly staff, spacious and light eating area with lots of seating to choose from! 🍴😊. Plus a lovely amble round the gorgeous, well stocked garden centre after lunch! 🌸

We have visited here a few times & it has always been lovely, not on our visit last week. What has happened? We had a dog with us so went in the corner where dogs are allowed. I had to clear the table as every table was full of dirty dishes. Eventually the other tables were cleared but not one was wiped over! Shocking! Without covid is bad enough but Covid IS STILL HERE, this is not acceptable. The lunches have gone up in price but the quality has gone down. We were charged for 2 slices of cake when we only had one which amounted to almost £10 for a piece of cake. I did get a refund but no apology. I had to go back again as no milk was given with our pot of tea. The staff are disinterested & have a couldn't care less attitude. I would also like to add that yes dogs are permitted in one area but should be on the floor! We saw many dogs sat on the seats & some eating from the tables, very unhygienic! We certainly won't be returning.

Extremely disappointed tonight which is unusual as we really enjoyed going before refurbishing. Food was not good a all. 3 cheese burgers one plain and 2 with one piece of lettuce and a chunk of onion. The fries on all three plates were overcooked. The onion rings were overcooked although we did eat some. The carvery was nice except for pigs on blankets as they had been left under heat lamp far to long inedible. The fried chicken sandwich was tasty.but again fries overcooked. The young lady gave me a box to bring the full burger home to put in the bin. This is unusual so not sure if they changed the chief or they were having a bad day. Tripped over the side of the chair and hurt my leg and informed the young lady it was a safety issue she said she would inform the manager but didn’t take steps to remove the hazard. ( not sure yellow and black hazard tape is adequate if it’s covered by the arm of the chair that’s broke ?) this time wasn’t value for money and we left feeling dissatisfied. Felt like they just couldn’t be bothered . Sad really as we have loved eating here 😔
