Pilkingtons Bakers & Deli in Cheshire East

Used to be my favourite sandwich shop. Went in today and was charged FIVE POUNDS THIRTY for a sandwich. I could not believe it. What a rip off. Even the lady taking the money looked embarrassed. Greedy owners. Never again

Pilkingtons is just brilliant. All the girls have a big smile and a warm welcome for everyone and they never stop. The sandwiches are made to order, always fresh and packed with filling, my dad wont have anything else. The cakes and pastries look and taste fab. I hope Pilkingtons will always be around for future generations to enjoy.

I ordered a Buffet for a party for 50 people. Arrived beautifully presented on platter trays. Very tasty and the quiche was amazing. All my guests complimented the food and asked where it was from. Thank you girls for making my party so easy!

Went in for the first time not having a clue what to eat. Met with two happy faces from the girls behind the counter who suggested the pastrami. Lovely fresh bread and a great tasting sandwich. Definitely returning. Highly recommend.

Whilst on a walk to Poynton with Sophia I felt a little hungry. It was nearly 12:30 so we popped into Pilkington's Deli for something to eat. Sophia had a little flan, I had a pie. Sophia enjoyed squashing the flan as most 14 months old children do, then proceeded to eat it. I used my manners and used a knife and fork. Very enjoyable.

Ordered a loaf of sourdough from the one in Davenport at the weekend for pickup on Monday to find they didn't even bother. Then said I should re-order it... Joke.

Staff are the worst. I don't know what there problem is, its not a break room. I've been going years but the staff davenport and shauwhealth let their bakery down, very rude! All I want is a food not attitude, I will never go there again.

Today I was driving by a bakery I had never used before (Pilkingtons Davenport) and decided to pop in. I purchased several items which were absolutely horrific in taste! I had the curry pasty, some sort of lattice and 2 custard cakes, all of which were inedible beyond the first bite. The bakery was more expensive than a normal bakery and the 'food' if I can even call it that has left me wondering if I would have been better off scrounging in the trash for food. Needless to say I will never use this bakery again.

Have been going for quite some time but today I had the worst sandwhich ever.! The bread was dry and it was spread with margarine which I dislike. I cant understand why their standards have dropped so much, plus what is wrong with butter, are they saving money !

Best butty shop in poynton, fresh baked bread good Sandwiches the coffee is really nice 2! Cakes are yummy yummy! The staff are ace really friendly and chatty quick too! Highly recommend

Excellent sandwiches and paninis'. Excellent bread and generous fillings. At least 15 different fillings which can be customised to meet customer needs and wants. Paninis' are also excellent; my favourite is bacon, brie and cranberry sauce-yum! Hand raised pork pies-some of the best I have ever eaten. I think the coffee is a little expensive but is also good. Staff are very friendly and there is a great atmosphere, especially at lunchtime.

Lovely cappucino, very sad they had no carrot cake today, which is always delicious. Fresh baguettes, lots of choice of fillings, Great for a quick, reasonably priced lunch.

Good for coffee and a snack. I sometimes prefer to come here rather than Costa. Always guaranteed a good coffee and a nice chat with the lovely staff.

i have to confess that I am a daily visitor for coffee and toast I have never been disappointed by the welcome food and service. The coffee is prepared from a proper machine the toast is from bread baked daily at the family bakery. I have made return visits for lunch and not been disappointed Well done girls keep it up

They were able to do my sandwich exactly as I wanted it when I gave them quite a specific request. The staff are really friendly, the atmosphere is nice and calm and they do a really great coffee. Great spot for lunch.

Called in with my Aunty for a sarnie, asked for no butter, it came with butter, asked for chicken, onion, cucumber and coleslaw on it, had tomato and lettuce too. It was quite nice, aside from them not giving as requested. I'd go back, but ensure I was given what was requested.
